Description: Monkey Island Beach Cafe offers real Tex-Mex and Seafood in an amazing beachside and seaview location in the heart of the West End. We have a full bar featuring Roatan's signature drink, the Monkey LaLa, Margaritas, Honduran and American beers and wine. We have live music several nights a week. We also offer free Wi-Fi for all of our guests. Our signature menu items include our famous coconut lobster, the biggest and best coconut shrimp and bacon wrapped jumbo shrimp stuffed with jalapeno and cheese. We also feature real Tex-Mex food including Chile Rellenos, Fajitas, enchiladas, nachos, guacamole, queso and Bob Armstring dips and free chips and salsa for every table. For the fish lovers our fishermen bring us us whatever they are catching. It might be Mahi Mahi, Blackfin Tuna, Wahoo or even spearfish taken lionfish. It varies by the season and even daily so ask your server what we have in. You can get our fish coconut style, as our tequila fish, perfectly grillled or in our fish tacos. Click on the "Website" link on the upper left side of this page to see and like our Facebook page for food and drink specials, our live music and event schedule, more pictures, special event announcements and general Roatan fun and information.

This place has got a great vibe, great view and is a very friendly place to spend "happy hours". The coconut shrimp is excellent, especially with the pina colada sauce- which rocks! It must be the only place on Roatan to bring chips and salsa right to your table, and the other cheesy dips are tasty too. I've also had the yummy chicken quesadilla, seems like you can't go wrong with the food here.

The weekends Monkey Island has live music and is a very central & colorful place to spend an evening out. The staff is very welcoming and part of what makes it a great experience.

Can't wait til the weekend comes to go back and check out the music and spend the evening with friends!

A relatively new restaurant in West End, the restaurant appears to be off to a good start. They deliver a different twist on some foods. The nachos platter appetizer with chicken was good. Gooey with cheese, the chips are a bit thicker than average, but it helped in picking them up. The extra salsas that were provided were excellent. The main dish was coconut lobster bites. Not only were they tasty and tender, the sauce had a slightly sweet taste. If you like coconut shrimp, you will love this dish. They have other dishes besides the more expensive lobster plates. The side that came with the lobster bites was potatoes with peppers and those had just the slightest bite of spices. If you are in West End and looking for a place to eat, Monkey island warrants a try.

Thank you so much for your visit and kind words about our food. The Coconut Lobster bites are one of our most complemented dishes. The sauce we serve with our Coconut Lobster Bites is our Piña Colada sauce and that sauce also accompanies our Giant Coconut Shrimp. We are also happy that you enjoyed the chicken nachos. We are however very sad that your service did not live up to the five star level that you and all of our guests expect and deserve. We offer our sincere apologies for that and hope that you will come back soon and give us chance to prove that we can deliver five star worthy service. All of our staff are native Honduran and Islanders and they have worked hard in the month we have been open to learn the menu and give the best service possible. All of the waitstaff are fluent in English but for a few of them it is their second language. They have to try even harder. If there is ever anything wrong with your food or service we encourage all of our customers to ask for our manager and we will make it right.
