My friend and I were recently in Roatan for a five day dive vacation. The Buena Vida quickly became our favorite place to eat on the island! We came here every morning for breakfast before our first dive of the day. I always ordered the breakfast sandwich with a fried egg, cheese and chorizo. My friend is vegetarian and they were very accommodating and offered her avocado as an alternative to the chorizo. I also ordered an iced vanilla latte every day and it was always made perfectly. If you are like me and need to have your coffee in the morning before diving, this is a great place to come for a hearty or light breakfast and a coffee fix. We loved The Buena Vida so much that we also frequently stopped in for quick lunches between dives. Between the two of us, we tried many of the dishes on the menu, including the lionfish tacos, meatball sandwich, patty melt and the grilled PB&J, all of which were delicious! Our two absolute favorite lunches were the lionfish poboy and the apple rum BBQ chicken sandwich. The portion sizes for every meal are perfect and everything has that great "home-cooked" feel. In fact, I woke up this morning and was disappointed that I couldn't walk down the road to order my usual breakfast sandwich from The Buena Vida. Allan and the rest of the staff are very friendly and welcoming as well. I can't say enough good things about this place and would recommend it to anyone visiting or diving in West End.
