“Great Lionfish Tacos”
Reviewed August 5, 2014

Got some great tacos here. I'd recommend them. The chips and salsa were good too. Don't forget to try the spicy sauce. Very nice wait staff.

“Worth the Wait”
Reviewed August 3, 2014

The most important thing to remember while eating at Cannibal Cafe is that you are in Central America. Second in importance is to remember that there is not a vast kitchen with 6 cooks preparing the food. You may have to wait a little longer than you'd like for the food to come out.

Cannibal Cafe offered my first taste of lionfish in the form of a fish taco. I was not disappointed. The customary ingredients in a fish taco were present and flavorful, and the lionfish seemed to be well prepared (I had it broiled so that I could get the full flavor of the fish). Keep in mind that lionfish are invasive in the Eastern hemisphere. If you enjoy seafood with a "fishy" flavor (as opposed to salmon and other mild varieties of fish) and the texture of scallops, you will probably enjoy lionfish.

The other major attraction of the Cannibal Cafe is that it is one of the few remaining restaurants that offer Central American charm in West End and West Bay. A lot of establishments cater to the North American (read: from the USA) cruise-ship/Spring Break/all-inclusive mentality. Cannibal Cafe, while not Honduran fare, at least reminds the North American visitor that they are in a different country. It is also one of the few places along the West Bay and West End coastline that offers something other than pizza, burgers, steaks and lobsters.

As Cannibal Cafe is located in a tourist destination on an island, the food is a little more than what one might expect to pay for tacos and burritos (think of a higher end Mexican joint in the middle of a city, versus the taco stand just around the corner). Comparatively speaking, the food is inexpensive, yet well-prepared. It's also a great place to get a birds'-eye-view of the main drag in West End.

When you get tired of the resort-fare at the other establishments, or you want a reminder that you are, in-fact, not in the US anymore, drop by Cannibal Cafe.

“Good Mexican Food In Roatan”
Reviewed July 30, 2014

If you have the urge for Mexican food, this is your West End choice. They have been doing it since 1996 and doing it very well. The hard shell, beef tacos were big and yummy.

“Good food, reasonable prices”

Lots of selection, cooler upstairs if there is a breeze. Right across the road from the best ice cream shop.

“Great place!”
Reviewed July 22, 2014

We really enjoyed this restaurant so much we went back again. They have a couple local honduran dishes that my daughter loved. My wife liked the Lionfish tacos. The beef tacos were my favorite. The service was excellent. The prices were good. Anyone vacationing in West End should try this place.
