My family descended on Blue Bahia Resort for a reunion over Christmas 2013. There's a wide variety of suite sizes so it was easy to find the right size for every group. Each suite has a very serviceable kitchenette: we cooked dinner for 14 people one night. The larger suites easily accommodated family gatherings for card games and birthday parties. There's a flat screen TV in each room as well; we didn't watch much but others in the group were able to get English language stations with movies and news. The rooms are nice and private : we were staying downstairs from a family of four and didn't hear any voices or footsteps from upstairs for the entire week.

Breakfast was delivered to our room every morning: juice, eggs and toast or pancakes or other entree, fruit, and a side of sausage or veggie sausage. A few of us are vegetarian and it was great to have the vegetarian breakfast meat option. The food was fresh, home-made and filling.

Several folks were scuba certified, and it was very convenient for them to arrange for dives that left straight from the Resort; there is a dive company located on the premises. There's also a restaurant onsite that made lunch and dinner meals very easy too.

There's excellent snorkeling either right off-shore or further out by the reef, and the pool is also great for entertaining young children. We went running on the beach almost every morning.

I have to give a huge shout out to the owner, Kent. He knows Roatan inside and out and is literally a life-saver. He gave us tons of local tips, like where to try baleadas (Honduran tacos) and where to buy locally made gifts. During Christmas dinner, when one person in our group had a medical emergency, Kent knew exactly whom to call and he helped us out of a scary situation. I'm grateful to Kent for all his excellent advice and help during our stay. I cannot recommend Blue Bahia resort highly enough!

Room Tip: If you are noise-sensitive, ask for a room away from the parrots and toucans. They start chattering...

Everyone at the resort is very friendly and helpful. Did a great job of rescheduling with me when my plans changed. The resort is kept very clean. Kent does a great job assuring all of your needs are taken care. WiFi is good for comunincations. Great restaurant on site. Enjoyed the bilingual birds!!! I had to video them to show my Grandaughter!

We came here to eat for a meal while stating on Roatan. The menu boasted a wide variety of choices including a fish of the day plate which was incredibly reasonable at $9 and $14 for an all you can eat option!

Drinks were well prepared (though strong!) and staff happy to accommodate to your needs.

Not the best quality food when compared to neighbouring resort mayoka lodge but cheaper options available in a beautiful setting

We stopped here for drinks on our way to town and were greeted by the new owners, really lovely people and super hosts.

we asked the bar tender what the specialty of the house was and he suggested a Blue Bahia,
it was a perfect mix and a perfect drink i am only sorry we didnt get the chance to stay for dinner, we mef a couple of folks eating there and they raved about the food. The menu board looked awesome we will definitely stop by on our next trip to roatan..

There´s so many things to say about Blue Bahia Hotel & Grill..... Kent´s hospitality is awesome and Rob and Lisa´s food are something you´ll never forget.
You´ll fell at home when you see smily faces all the time, hondurian people are great hosts, anywhere you go you´ll be amazed because the beautiness of the island, the gorgeous sunsets and so much more.
My room at Blue Bahia was comfortable and cozy, they have all the services you can need, also great divings at Octopus Dive School.
Cheaper than other fancy options, more comfortable and private than big hotels, don´t think twice, if you are looking for nice food, a nice room and privacy... this is the place to be!!!

Room Tip: Any room is perfect!!!

Back to Blue Bahia, this trip with friends for 2 weeks. Kent sold the restaurant back in Feb, so he was relaxed & had time to spend with us on the pourch each nite. We all went to West End for lunch one day. September is a slow month on Roatan, so only 3 cabins occupied. Week 1 was us, our friends from Mississippi, & a great couple from Miami who were on Roatan house hunting. Kent was able to give them lots of helpful info. Week 2 was us, our friends, & a young couple from Houston that we met at Blue Bahia on out trip last October.
Lots of improvements, clean up, & remodel work has been done since last October. Trees trimmed back, lots of new plants, new furniture in the cabannas, new reception office, & a new work room for Phillip.
If you like the less crowded times, September & first half October are definitely the months to go. Biggest cabins are Wave & Starry Nites. They have full king bedrooms, large bath, large kitchen with bar to eat at, & a large living room. They also have 2 or 3 rollaway beds. The cabannas are great for couples. I know the bottom one has a king bed & a rollaway bed.
Breakfast is included in the price & Kent is an excellent cook.

We stayed there for one week in the King and Queen room in May. The rooms where very clean, the staff was helpful and we really enjoyed our visit with the owner. We were served in the mornings with a nice hardy breakfast that we enjoyed just before diving, we also ate at the restaurant on site which was also very good. We were there to dive and couldn't of had a better time doing just that. The staff at their on site dive shop really showed us a good time.
