“Our Favourite Restaurant on Roatan”
Reviewed January 15, 2013

We had high expectations about this restaurant as we had heard about it before getting to Roatan, previous guests of the home we were staying in recommended it and it seemed like every travller we met on Roatan suggested we give it a try.

It more than lived up to our high expectations.

We went twice over two weeks with 6 people one week and a 4 people (2 who had never been) the next.

On each arrival we commented on the great music; the guitar player (using loops) blew us away. If our house was closer, we'd come back just for drinks and a show to see him.

But that's just the tip of this iceberg.

Their menu board is fantastic and the service is exceptional. All of us agreed it had the best food options and was the best value on the island. Combined with a top-notch atmosphere aided by your serving staff, this is a place we will keep coming back to.

The best calamari we've ever had, some of the best fish we've ever had and our minds are still blown by the smoked meats.

This is a complete gem, we're considering staying at the hotel when we return to Roatan.

“Nice view, rest OK”
Reviewed January 10, 2013

Food is fine but definitely overpriced when you realize you can get something on at a local place or on the street for $1. The guy staff I talked to kind of had an attitude. Women were nice but quiet. The price drives me the most nuts about the place. View is great though.

“Christmas Dinner on the Beach”
Reviewed December 26, 2012

Wow! Another superb dinner! When one is used to Christmas at grandma's house with snow falling all around, with lots of family and traditional fare, it is a real change to think about Christmas dinner on the island. We picked the Blue Bahia because we are always treated like family. Kent was a superb host and the food was magnificent. He told us that a friend of his brought in a fresh Wahoo at about noon on Christmas day. (Wahoo is a firm white fish like Halibut.) He served a grilled 1" thick Wahoo steak, 9" long and 5" wide with a layer of grilled tomatoes and onions on top. It shared the platter with a serving of fresh steamed veggies and a baked potato - wow, was it good! We sat at a table looking across the narrow beach at the small white waves breaking on the reef just off shore. I was able to share this adventure with family and it was warm. I didn't have to shovel my way in or out. Thanks Kent, we'll be back.

“Great place to meet with friends”
Reviewed December 23, 2012

We have loved the food that Ken puts on the menu. Everything is cooked to order and cooked with care for each person. Ken and the staff always make you feel like you are an important person and always treats you like you are a group of VIPs.
We always come with a group of between 10 and 20 people and we have never had any issues with food being cold or delayed. It is amazing how they get it all to the table so we can all eat at the same time.
One of the best things about coming here is chatting with Ken; I always enjoy chatting with Ken and talking politics, world issues and just about anything else. Always a pleasure.

“Great Roatan beach restaurant”
Reviewed December 20, 2012 via mobile

We are staying at Blue Bahia and have had several meals at the restaurant. It's really one of the best we found on the island. Good vibes, good food, lovely setting. Especially enjoyed the garlic shrimp, BBQ ribs, fresh leafy salads, fresh fish fillets. Key lime pie is great too! Definitely recommend.
