Don’t miss out on this one. Ron is one of the best tour guides around. He will customize your day depending on where you want to go and do. Ron knows almost everyone on the island and we felt very safe with him which was our concern traveling with our 3 young daughters ages 7,9, and 13. My family of 5 (he can take up to 8 or 9) loved this excursion the best of all the ones we did on the Carnival Dream, 7/6 to 7/13. We saw all parts of the island and learned lots of interesting facts about Roatan and Honduras. We zipped lined and played with the monkeys as a separate activity which we paid for. Ron gets personal with his tour which I really enjoyed as did my daughters. Since my daughters were scared of zip lining (first timers), he zip lined along with us to comfort them. He also took over 200 pictures for us on my camera and got some great shots. Ron tried to anticipate our needs while letting let us experience the local culture. He bought for us (without being asked to do so) some pineapple cake from his neighboring friend, apple bananas to taste, food to feed the fish, snorkel gear for the beach, and a free lunch which he bought when I got hungry. To take it an extra mile he also walked home while we were playing with the monkeys to get a jar of his home made spicy peppers since my daughter and I love spicy food. He also emailed me his pineapple recipe for his cookies. Not only did we have a great time, we save a lot of money booking with him vs going with the cruise line so, of course, we tipped him well. We didn’t feel rushed and went at our pace. He was surprised we wanted to go back to the ship so early even though we’d been with him from 7:30am-2:30pm. He wanted to show us more stuff but we were tired! The best way to experience Roatan is to book with Ron and don’t tell your party what you are going to do. Then do the above activities and you will have something to remember for a lifetime. The best part is that he really loves what he does and it shows it. I highly recommend Ron with Roatan Adventure Tours.

Ron Rivers was the best tour guide we had on our cruise. We ported at 4 different places and Roatan was the best one out of all 4. Ron took us to the beach, stayed with our stuff took pictures, he also knew a lot about the history and knew what places to bring us. We ate some good food and felt safe at all times. The price was perfect, inside the port is almost double, don't feel afraid cross over the hill just ask for Ron Rivers or do the zip-lining and ask for Jeffery. I will never stay in the ports again, I will always leave and I cant wait to go back to Roatan. Canada - Alisha

Ron met us at the dock to take us on the most wonderful trip of his island. He takes great pride in showing you the real Roatan, not just the tourist places. As I am mobility impaired at the moment he went out of his way to get us right up to the doorsteps of where we were going. We had let him know in advance some of the things we wanted to do and he had it all scheduled out when we arrived but was quick to change things around as we wanted. He had little gifts for us to remember our time with him, stopped at roadside stands to show us the local fare and even took us to his home for his girlfriend to make up pepper vinegar out of the local peppers we got. He turned a day trip into an adventure and we can't wait to go back again! Ron became an extended part of our family that day! Could you ever ask for more??

Victor Bodden had by far the best reviews online, and this was our trip of a lifetime so didn't want to take any chances booking with anyone else. The guide assigned to us was Ron Rivers, we had no idea he had his own company, but once we arrived we learned that when Ron doesn't have his own tours booked though his company(Roatan Adventure Tours), he works for Victor. So please everyone out there planning a trip to Roatan, skip the middleman (Victor Bodden) and go straight to Ron. Ron has some of the highest rated reviews among all of Victors tour guides and booking directly with him assures you that you will get a good guide instead of rolling the dice with Victor Bodden. Ron was the most personable native we met at any of our port stops, he was funny and extremely knowledgeable about the island. Our group of 8 had an amazing time, our favorite port stop of all!

Also just a tip if you want to spend some time at a beach (we did for a few hours in the afternoon), the guides will try to take you to Banarama, but before entering & paying there is a public entrance to the beach right past the guard shack where you can just walk on. The guides will try their hardest to get you to stay at Banarama because they get a kickback, but if you insist on going past bananarama, there is a private hotel immediately to your left once you get on the beach. They have nicer chairs, a nice beach bar, is far less crowded and only charged $7pp to use all of their facilities, including a pool!
