Loved it the hike was a little rough but over all great time. We stayed at Utopia Eco Hotel and they sent us with a really good guide. Was not over crowded and had personal attention

It is a must see! No negatives other than it rained a bit. I booked my trip with Zephry and there was only four of us which made the cave a lot better.

its a totally must see!!

We spent an entire day here. It's absolutely beautiful. One of our favourite places in Guatemala. Well worth the time to go. We stayed at El Portal which is 5min walking distance from the park entrance, which allowed us to sleep in and still get to the park before any tour groups and get some beautiful pictures and even see some off limits areas (as we found out later).

Warning: Near Semuc Champey is another attraction: Kamba caves tour. Kamba caves is extremely dangerous. I've done lots of cave tours and "crazy" or "dangerous" things, but that cave tour will get you killed. Read other reviews on it and don't go. Kamba is the absolutely most dangerous, unprofessional tour I've ever done. People die and get seriously injured in that cave every year. One girl in our group cut her leg open and another guy nearly drowned as our guide left 3 of us behind in the cave alone in deep water.
If you want to do a cave tour do the Lanquin cave tour instead, or if you get to go to Belize (over near Tikal, Guatemala) do the ATM cave tour. Those 2 are safe and worth it. Kamba is not.

its amazing to think that the blue-green pools have formed above the cohaban river: you must go to the mirador, the view is amazing. Its a must see if your are traveling in guatemala. You can stay in semuc(really little options) or stay in lanquin!

The place is just beautiful, and the activities a great. But I would only recommend this for the young ones. The activities include jumping, and sliding and caving, and you can hurt yourself! So not everyone is carved out for it! And it's very hard to get to. You can either take a 10-hour bus from Antigua/Guatemala City, or a 10-hour bus from Flores/Santa Helena, or... an 8-hour bus from those towns, spend a night in Cobán, and then a 2-hour ride to Semuc. But you can only do that if you have many days to travel!
