“One of my favorite.”

I have taken friends to this castle over eight times. If you are in Ghana and have the time, this is one of the best sites to visit. Great guides, accurate history, and bone chilling reality to the horrors of the slave trade.
Any time of the day is good to make a visit. It is cooler in the morning and late afternoon.

“Everybody should see this”
Reviewed March 16, 2012

We went early in the morning and got there before the tour buses, so there were only eight in our group, which was very nice.

Our guide was excellent (although some Americans might have a bit of trouble understanding his accent, even though his English was perfect). He gave a very detailed and thoughtful history and analysis of the castle and its role in the slave trade. He did not blame any one group, but explained the roles that the various Europeans and Africans played in the whole tragic business. It was a very moving experience.

“More to the place, than just a Castle”
Reviewed March 14, 2012

Its so good to be there, you have to by all means drive through the Elmina township, see daily activities of villagers who are mostly fishermen and fish mongers. and our Tour operators (www.ctbtravelgh.com) who made it possible, that we had the chance to help the fishermen pull out a fishing net of their night catch. It was full of fun, you have to visit some time. CTB World Travel! Thank you very much...
