“Very Nice for the Swimming”
Reviewed May 25, 2010

It's located on one of the best beaches in Ghana- very swimmable! There was a lof of comfortable seating (couches) to hang out at. The library was pretty good but a lof of it was in German (owners are German). The rooms were comfortable and clean although I would like stronger fans. The washroom was clean but far from the sink which I found kind of odd. The one thing I strongly disliked though was the menu- very overpriced! I paid 4.5 cedis for half a bowl of tomato soup and the plain rice (with nothing else except maybe sauce) was 7 cedis! (Normally it's around 3 or 4.) Pop was 1.5. Seems to be very family friendly though if that's what you're looking for.

Ko Sa is remote and sleepy and one of the best spots I've stayed in years. If it's 'nite life' you're after, dont bother, as once it gets dark there isnt much to do. The menu is pretty good and the rooms basic, but the whole atmosphere and feel of the place is very chilled and the beach is simply stunning. We spent 2 nights and could have spent a week happily lazing the days away - spot on!

Owners are dong nothing to maintain or improve property. Pleasant Ghanaian staff don't cook well and don't clean at all! (Left over garbage from previous guest in bathroom, where you are asked to dispose of toilet paper in bin, no daily cleaning of sand or making of beds.) Strong mouldy smell in most rooms - which owner says is "perfectly normal". Food tasteless, and tough. Nothing on menu one could order twice. That fresh juice comes from the boxed cartons easily viewable on counter - not fresh. The glass size decreases by meal, yet price remains same. Owners nickel and dime each menu item - over priced to start and lack lustre. Poor quality food and bad service. Locals pester on beach. Not a comfortable chair on premises. Gaudy dining chairs are cheap and uncomfortable and ocean loungers, without any cushions, have wood slats, where they shouldn't! Ouch! The setting deserves more - not owners who spend days at beach doing nothing and evenings in bar. Cut my stay short.

Unfortunately/fortunatley, we didn’t get chance to try the superb fruit juices. As my wife and I pulled up into the empty car park we were greeted by a member of staff. Who informed us that if weren’t staying for the night then we were not welcome, this was made very rudely clear. Apparently, we were informed, there are other establishments nearby that do allow day guests to eat, and we should go there. I guess they had, had a busy Easter and just couldn’t face any more customers, or maybe they had even run out of food, who knows? After a wonderful weekend at the Hideout in Butre, we just wanted a bite to eat and a quick dip in the sea on the way back to Accra. Anomabu beach resort a half an hour up the road thankfully provided that in the professional manner they always do. It was a shame not to experience a new place, but hey T.I.A It’s their loss. Glad we didn't plan on staying overnight, if our 2 minute induction to Ko Sa is anything to go by.

Did not stay as a guest in the hotel, however visited the restaurant.

Very romantic; friendly staff and good food.

Their home made fruit juice is really superb.
