“Good access to Old Ohrid”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2007

We were a group of 24 staying for 5 nights in October to look at early churches and Roman remains. Hotel very pleasant with free internet access (if you can get the kids off!) in the reception lobby. Nice open glass sided lift but only to 3rd floor (there is a 4th). Breakfast adequate. Evening meals - salads (very inventive) - main course meat intensive with few vegetables. Desserts mostly cake with whipped cream. Good wine list. The hotel has a reasonably large indoor pool and small gym.

Rooms are adequate but bathrooms (showers) are too small and ours ran hot or cold depending on neigbouring rooms!

Very pleaseant receptionists and good money changing etc. Laundry pretty cheap - $2.50 a shirt washed and ironed the same day.

The hotel is set sideways onto the lake so only 6 rooms have lake view - others overlook carpark or rented flats. It is a good ten minute walk into the old town of Ohrid but it is along a wide paved lakeside with only night fishermen to be stepped round.

The town itself would take two or three days to explore and there are many interesting sites in the surrounding area. Taxi to Skopje airport from the hotel was Euro 70 ($100) but as it is nearly 200 Kilometres seemed quite a good price. The local airport (Ohrid) has ver few flights.

I was at this hotel with a group of my colleagues. We are software specialists and we install hotel management solution.
At the last night of our stay one of my colleagues got his laptop stolen.
The management of hotel called police and they said that no one got into the room through the door or through the windoww. The computer just dissapeared!!!! The worst part was that they basically said we hid it in order to make a problem. We couldn't get any solution to this problem.
If you visit this hotel be careful - it's not safe!!!!!!

Outstanding hotel! The rooms were modern, clean, comfortable. (Our party took up three rooms.) Air conditioning units were quiet. Bathrooms were immaculate. Food was delicious. Service was excellent. It is within walking distance to everything. The only place I would stay again. The rooms are smaller, but that is true of most European hotels.

We have stayed in many hotels and luxury resorts so there is ample data to compare this too. On this same trip we were in hotels in Serbia and Vienna and this hotel is at the top, followed by our hotel in Vienna.

  • Liked — Comfortable and restful.
  • Disliked — No drawbacks.

This is a town hotel, a 10-minute walk from the centre of Ohrid and 2 minutes from a small pebble beach where you can swim and sunbathe. It faces the lake of Ohrid but has no lake views from most of the rooms.

A 4-star hotel: modern, international, up to western standards, very comfortable, staff and management very professional and customer-oriented. Good breakfast, dinner can be ordered in the restaurant, good quality food and very reasonable prices.

Carpets in halls, corridors and rooms. Clean and comfortable rooms and good bathroms. Single rooms have no balcony. Free sauna, solarium, internet, safe.

This is one of the few really good hotels in Ohrid, since many of the others, despite their 3 or even 4 stars, do not come up to western European standards and have an 'iron curtain' atmosphere of shoddy rooms, standards and service. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Millenium Palace and would return there.

  • Liked — high standards and service
