We stayed four nights here and loved it. The resort is quiet and serene, surrounded by the most beautiful waters. We chose a lagoon bungalow here, as we were then moving to an over the water hut in Bora Bora. We loved everything about the bungalow, and especially the access to the waters for snorkeling, which was amazing. I hurt myself on the first day here (my fault, not the resorts) and spent much time at the pool with Tama. He was amazing and took such care with me and for me. He represented Sofitel in such a wonderful way. Our breakfasts were included in our package, and very good with much variety. All other meals were good, and you just have to adjust to how much everything costs. Housekeeping was good, but we all adapted to the lack of consistency in amount of towels, things being moved, etc. Never a worry about theft, just "island ways of doing things." We also took an ATV tour through ATV Moorea that was fun, and sometimes harrowing, but we saw parts of the island we would have never seen without doing so. And if you're looking for a restaurant off the resort, try Chez Roger. It's about 10 minutes away, and Roger will pick you up and bring you home. An amazing meal and save room for his specially made apple pie! The consierge can book this for you. All in all, we would go back here in a heartbeat if we return to Moorea.

Room Tip: If you want to save some money, try the superior lagoon rooms. We thought they were better than the...

An incredible place. The Paradise in earth. Everybody helpfull, nice and friendly. You have to stay in an overwater bungalow..it makes the difference. Not need to be the most expensive ones. Its very expensive to eat everywhere!

Just amazing. This Sofitel is situated in the most incredibly blue lagoon, surrounded by millions of fish of every colour and size. We stayed in overwater bungalows with steps down to lagoon. Snorkeled whenever we liked. Staff all very friendly and do and incredible job trying to please you. Special mention must be made of Tama at the pool, nothing too much trouble to make your holiday memorable. Merrissa in the Restaurant also, delightful charming warm and friendly. Overall an amazing lifetime experience. Moorea Jet Tours- run by another Tama also ( must be in the name) was just incredible. Moorea ATV tours also, brilliant and the lagoonarium a absolute must. Just loved every second- could go back for another 9 nights- in a heartbeat! Thank you Sofitel

We were here three nights. Take note on eating , at any island hotel it's GOING to be EXPENSIVE...Very,! Check in, they kind of make you wait til close to check in time, but they do give you a wet washcloth ( your gonna need it) and a glass of water ( you will need that too). You can change into your bathing suit and use the pool. If you get there early just change into your bathing suits!! You CANT check in any earlier!! They do have a restaurant, but remember, it's expensive even for lunch. We did eat there but only the breakfast and lunch menu. Breakfast is buffet that is what they are calling an American Breakfast. We loved our over the water bungalow!! We snorkeled whenever we wanted. !we were closer to shore, so our ladder let us off waist deep. The water is SO CLEAR you are going to love it. You can see he fish without going in the water, but get in take a look around. You are going to see some amazing fish! The bungalow has the glass port on the floor, you can see fish swim by...there is a night light to turn on for fish attracted to the light, but we only saw one lol. The place is amazing....do however stay in the over water bungalow if you can, the garden ones just looked like they would be hot. It is very HOT AND HUMId in the Tahitian islands. We would love to go back and just stay there for the week. We did the 10 day island cruise after our stay here. Wouldn't do that again but would stay here again. If you do go, enjoy yourselves....you will feel like a king and queen. Peace

Room Tip: Close to shore shallow water, out further, deeper, not sure about garden bungalow maybe facing the w...

I enjoyed my overall stay at Sofitel Moorea. The service is very good, the staff very friendly and helpful. I stayed in an overwater bungalow which was awesome but quite different from the pictures shown on the website. I found the food just okay, I think the menu could be more elaborated. Portions are huge. I had a massage at the spa which was okay. The hotel is 10 mins drive from the port and the grocery store. I found the price of the food very expensive at the hotel. I suggest you pay for a package with breakfast included. There is nothing witching walking distance around the hotel. For exploring the island, I suggest you rent a car and explore at your own pace. I enjoyed the half day boat outing with Teva, the guide, where I had the chance to swim with sting rays and black tip sharks!

I spent 2 nights here in a garden bungalow before a cruise and was upgraded to a garden bungalow on the beach instead of in the back "no view" garden bungalows. Room was quite large with an incredible modern bathroom with a huge shower with double glass doors that opened up to a private patio with it's own garden. We had a nice patio looking out at the lagoon and beach. My brother and his wife splurged on an overwater bungalow that was gorgeous. You could go snorkeling off their patio in the shallow coral reef with colorful fish. The Sofitel is barefoot elegance. The staff are friendly and accomodating. The grounds are pretty but the pool is small and no big deal but with the gorgeous lagoon and beach. why would anyone even go to the pool. The only negative experience we had was in the restaurant where the female server wasn't able to answer our questions about some of the entrees and did not know what Grey Goose vodka was nor did she know what vodka was on the bar. After several frustrating questions, the server had someone else become our server who could answer our questions and provided great service. There was a Polynesian show for about half an hour during our dinner with up to 3 Tahitian women dancers-unobtrusive to dinner but great entertainment. We hated to leave the Sofitel. It is a Polynesian paradise. Not cheap but nothing is in French Polynesia.

This is an excellent hotel with the best beach in Moorea in my opinion. The staff are mostly local and very genuine and caring. The food is excellent as is the service. This is not a big glitzy resort, it is a bit more natural and relaxed which I really like. Overall, I think it is good value for money and I would definitely go back. Just one note, I would not have the menu degustation at the K restaurant again, it is too much food and not worth the price.
