The view is great. The environment is quiet. The staff was very helpful. During our stay, the staff, especially Teresa, has helped us get what we need, such as tours, culture experiences. We had a very good time staying with Pearl Resort. The only thing is that the pool is too small. In the evening, it gets really crowded, and can hardly swim. The fish in the restaurant was delicious. We tried every fish dish and none of them disappointing. Very satisfied with our stay.

Room Tip: The garden room is as good as ocean room as each room has its air conditioner--very cool and comfort...

This is a very beautiful small hotel. We had a unit with a plunge pool and yes probably a beach unit would have been a better choice only because the plunge pool was always super hot which defeated the whole purpose of having one. Go figure its the tropics! Like most travelers we ate all over the north end of the island including the hotel and had no complaints about the hotel staff or restaurant. I cannot imagine any seasoned traveler having much to complain about in this place.

Room Tip: Choose a beach unit 305 or above.

If you are coming to Tahiti it's fair to say you are spending a a lot of money no matter where you stay. Do yourself a favor a do not stay here.

First the good... You are in Moorea! The island is gorgeous and so is the hotel property. We are staying in a beach garden bungalow which is a very nice room. It has a private little yard with a plunge pool which is great. About 1/3 of the staff is super friendly and helpful.

The bad.... Of course it's beautiful you're in Moorea! A lot of the more positive reviews I'm reading seem to be giving the hotel credit for the beauty of the island. All the hotels a nice looking. Here is the problem with the Pearl...where 1/3 of the staff is fantastic, another 1/3 is indifferent, and the last 1/3 downright don't want to be here. We made the mistake of getting dinners included. Just because we pre paid that doesn't mean we didn't spend a fortune! You are limited to picking from one of two appetizers, entrees, and desserts. That's it. I have gone with the fish the first two nights and it was wildly overlooked both times. My wife's curry chicken was pretty good. Ask for another glass of wine...the disinterested waitress never brought it out but didn't forget to put it on the bill. There is one restaurant...they had maybe 8 tables to serve last night yet we waited forever at every poi t of the meal. At one point I threw my hands up in frustration...then we got some service.

There is no beach here! If that's your thing don't bother. The overwater bungalows run across the whole beach front so when you go in the water you basically are standing under someone's bungalow at waist deep. Your views are of the bungalows as well. It looks like there are about 3 beach bungalows on one side that have a clear view of the ocean. The beach bungalows near the restaurant are a joke...staring right into e overwater walkway and buttressed by an ugly cement dock.

Clearly I'm a bit worked up about the dinner situation and had we known we would have passed on the included dinners. Maybe that makes it a better experience. This place is not terrible don't get me wrong. However I think a lot of the positive reviews are coming from people who love the island not the hotel. Also probably a lot of people haven't stayed at a REALLY first class resort so they might think this level of service is ok. I have been to a Rosewood resort before and if you have then you know what a 10 out of 10 service looks like. By that standard this is a 3 or 4. You are spending a lot of mo ey to come to Tahiti, go somewhere they treat you like it.

Going to Pearl in Bora Bora tomorrow. We have an end of pontoon overwster bungalow there. I am going to enjoy my last night on this beautiful island. (and probably go off campus for dinner). Looking forward to the next stop.

After spending many summers in Hawaii, we went to Moorea Island the summer of 2012. We stayed at the premium over-the-water bungalows. The sunrise and sunset views were unbelievable. Our three children (2 teenagers and 1 young adult) took full advantage of the bungalow; they dove into the ocean from the balcony every morning. We caught many fish from our balcony. June is the winter season in the South Pacific; the weather was very nice. The resort was beautiful; simply a paradise! The island is protected by natural reef; there are no waves and the ocean is like a giant lake. The island is minimally developed with only local cafes and restaurants. It has been over 18 months since we spent the summer in Moorea Island, our family still talks about the unforgettable experience. It is simply a paradise! My profile picture is the sunset view of the hotel pool area!

Room Tip: Stay at the premium over-the-water-bungalows; it makes a big difference with the experience.

My husband recently celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary in Tahiti, at the Moorea Pearl.
What a beautiful place! We were in a premium over the water bungalow with crystal blue water under us. I loved the window in the floor and my husband snorkeled right off of our deck! The accommodations were superb. When we arrived we were given refreshments to drink until our bungalow was ready. When we opened the door, there were beautiful red flowers and greenery arranged in a heart shape on our king sized bed. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on. In the morning, we had a delicious breakfast buffet, with everything you could want. The Mai Ti's are gorgeous. The grounds were always clean and beautiful and the staff was friendly and helpful. We watched a Tahitian dance performance on one evening.
All in all this was everything I had hoped for and more.

We arrived on Moorea by ferry and were met by a driver who took us to the very lovely Moorea Pearl. Samantha of Tahiti Travel Planners recommended that we stay in a Garden Bungalow with a private plunge pool, as we were going to be staying in an overwater bungalow in Bora Bora at the end of our trip. It was a wonderful recommendation as we thoroughly enjoyed our private pool! We were there for three nights and the Bungalow was luxurious and had wonderful amenities, such as robes, slippers, rain shower, etc. The Gardens were lovely, the infinity pool fabulous, the service was excellent, the food delicious. We snorkeled off the dock and saw fabulous fish! There were families there and some children running around, but the resort was not huge so there were not too many people. Of course our private pool help us block out the rest of the world! Thank you Samantha for that recommendation!

Room Tip: The bungalow with the private plunge pool is great!

We started our journey by taking the 20 minute ferry ride from Papeete to Moorea. From there, we got a taxi to take us to MPR. (Walking isn’t possible if you’re curious.) We loved the Moorea Pearl Resort from the moment our taxi dropped us off.

When we arrived, guest services took our bags and greeted us with a cool hand cloth and a refreshing cool fruit drink. The great service continued throughout our entire stay. It took us about 10 minutes to check-in then we were guided to our Garden Bungalow. The walk to our bungalow was just amazing, and the grounds were extremely clean and very neatly taken care of. The resort and the amount of people staying there was just the right size for a romantic stay.

Are you trying to figure out Garden Bungalow or Over the Water Bungalow? We would suggest the Garden Bungalow here and Over the Water Bungalow in Bora Bora. We liked the snorkeling better in Bora Bora because you could stand while at Moorea you are unable to. We did love the paddle boards and kayaks that they offer for free at Moorea. We thought the paddle boarding and kayaking were better in Moorea than in Bora Bora because the water was calmer. We took advantage of those each day in both locations. Each garden bungalow has its own pool and private area to sun bath. We were shocked by the amount of private area we had off the back of our room and inside our bungalow for that mater. Our bungalow had a very relaxing feel to it and we felt right at home. We even had a little "pet lizard" that stayed right outside our door and greeted us each time we entered the room.

There is a bar on location as well as a lunch eatery and main dining area. At the main dining area they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Every meal we had there was close to a 10/10. (I would Highly recommend the Thazard fish.) One time per week they host a traditional Tahitian show at the main dining area for dinner.

Again, we had an amazing experience here and would recommend it highly to anyone.
