Looking for a quick bite to eat? Moz Café is perfect, if you're in Maharepa (near the Banque Socredo, doctor's offices, post office, jewelry boutiques)! It's not far from the Moorea Pearl Resort, Pensions Cook's Beach, and any of the Pensions/B&B's in Maharepa and Cook's Bay/Paopao. They've got great breakfast and lunch meals ranging from 900-1200XPF. Eggs, Pancakes, French Toast, Tahitian Poisson cru, Carpaccio, Salads, Quiches, and their daily specials! Open Monday through Friday from 7am-3pm! Love it....we are "regulars" there!

try the crumbles for dessert - I had the pear and the banana on separate occasions. 300xpf and it comes with either coconut milk or ice cream. Delicious!

“Great breakfast & lunch in Maharepa”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

We stayed at a beach house in Maharepa and found Moz Cafe a great place for breakfast or lunch. It is very popular with the locals and has free WiFi. After being in French Polynesia for 10 days the burger was just what I needed. Although the burgers in most places here are marginal, Moz Cafe hits a home run with their burger and fries. They have a couple of entrees each day and you can customize your sandwich any way you want it. Don't miss their desserts. The service staff is very friendly and helpful but it will take 10 minutes for any grilled item. Get there by 11:30 for lunch or you won't get a seat inside (air conditioned). There is lots of outside seating on the deck. Lunch for 2 is under $15. They are upstairs across the street from the supermarket on the lagoon side. Cash only but there is an ATM & bank on the 1st floor of their building. It's a 5-10 minute walk from the Pearl resort.

“Follow the Locals to Moz”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2012

We will be forever grateful to our taxi driver for cluing us in to Moz. "Excellent" rating is for fantastic local fare in a simple island bistro atmosphere... the French Poly equivalent of your favorite locally-owned comfort food diner back home.

Breakfast and lunch only, a short 5 minute stroll from the Moorea Pearl Resort. From the resort entrance, turn right (west) at the sidewalk; Moz is 400 yards, upstairs on your right in the two-story small white commercial building on the lagoon side, across the street from the local Supermarche [supermarket]. Moz grid coordinates for your GPS or to find on Google Earth: -17.4818, -149.8074)

Atmosphere is very pleasant and scrupulously clean. Our French is marginal, but happily, Moz displays the day's fare in glass-front chillers, making it easy to order at the counter with a combination of pointing, smiling, and a combination of English and amateur French.

I enjoyed the local favorite Poisson Cru (raw fish marinated in lime juice and coconut milk), while my wife gravitated toward their daily quiche and house salad. On the front counter, a "take all you want" basket of sliced baguettes helps round out your lunch.

You'll find mostly locals at adacent tables, enjoying a nice meal and free WiFi(!!!, a rarity on Moorea; ask the cashier for the WiFi password). Our average lunch tab for two was less than $15USD. As guests at the Moorea Pearl, we migrated to lunch at the stunningly affordable Moz as our main meal of the day, then from the Supermarche across the street, topping up our cheese, pate', wine, fruit, cracker and veggie stash for an evening in-room picnic.

Tips: Moz gets busy at luch; to score your own 2-top table and ensure a complete menu selection, arrive before 11:30. Cash only, but convenient ATMs are readily available within a block on both sides of the street.
