We arrived on 12th July for 10 nights as a party or 8 & 4, we asked for the rooms to be close to each other & they sorted it for us, the air conditioning in the room was awesome, nice & chilled in the 100 degree heat.
The room was basic but fit for purpose, I mean you only sleep & shower in there, the sheets we're clean, the towels were changed daily.
When we came in 2007 there was only the 2 main pools so the water park was a very pleasant surprise, our 6 year old son loved it, he learned to swim whilst on this holiday. We tipped one of the the pool guys a fiver on the first day & he put us the same 12 sun beds out for the duration of our holiday. You can get pizza & chips from the the pool bar at the top of the ramp from 12 noon till mid afternoon.
We booked a few trips through the guys around the pool, We went snorkelling & scuba diving with Mido, which was amazing, we paid £22.50 per adult + £7.50 each for the children for the boat trip, food & snorkelling plus £15.00 for a 10 minute scuba dive, which I thoroughly enjoyed & would recommend.
We went quad biking with Abdul, it was £15 each. This was also enjoyable & again I'd recommend.
We also did a camel ride & a trip to Naama Bay & had a meal in The Hard Rock Cafe, family of 3 came to 366LE which is about £30.00, including tips. The food was nice too.
Now...so far so good, the one gripe I have is the restaurants. I'm not a fussy eater, I like all foods & there is plenty of choice if your adventurous, if your not you can stick to the soup, bread, chips & rice. However what got on my nerves was this, I wanted some cereal, there was no bowls, then there was no milk, or I needed a plate for toast, then there was no butter, then the butter came & the toast had gone cold...this was the trend throughout the stay. It did get us down towards the end of the trip. The omelette guy in the small restaurant did the best omelettes, if you crack a joke with him he'll look after you everyday.
The staff on the whole we're great, I'm of the opinion that treat people how you wish to be treated, this goes for the staff too, they may appear miserable but if you were working as hard as they do & only earning 100 dollars a month, you'd appear miserable too...they like to be spoken too, shake there hands, high fives, call them boss, geeza, brother, gandu! A lot of the people just pointed & grunted at them.
There is free wifi in the reception & it also works in the upstairs bar.
I'd recommend this hotel & Egypt, I'll be returning in 2-3 years, hopefully they may have upped there game regarding the restaurants, but apart from that I fully recommend.
