Stayed at this hotel for 7 nights arriving on the 8th November and found check in a little chaotic but was welcomed with a fresh orange juice which certainly went down well.
The grounds are stunning and kept beautifully and the gardeners work extremely hard to keep them looking so!
We learnt quite quickly that tipping goes along way and the locals love British pound coins, so take plenty and if you tip well then you are well looked after from staff. We tipped the towel guys and they made sure our beds were ready when we arrived after breakfast, we tipped the waiters and they remembered our drinks and table when we arrived for dinner. You don't have to tip a lot but you will soon learn that if you don't then you won't be taken care of compared to the ones that do.
The pools are lovely but we found the niño pool quieter but not as friendly, the pool by the beach is much more livier however you do get hassled quite a bit by tour guides!
The food is varied, there were two nights that the kids struggled to find anything to eat so I really do think they ought to cater a bit more for the younger guests but overall the food was good. Failing that only a 15 minute walk from hotel is your fast food restaurants such as KFC and McDonald's and they deliver too to your hotel!
The beach is lovely but if you are typical beach lovers then the sand is not smooth and because of the coral you can't paddle in the water easily but wow the fish were beautiful and the sea was so warm!
We had a family room and the room was huge, one of the biggest we have ever experienced for a family of 5 and definitely good value for money. It was kept clean, every day if we wanted it which I think is nice but the bathroom definitely needs to be refurbed as the bath and shower curtain was looking a little tiresome.
We used the spa once whilst we were on holiday but found it extremely basic compared to others we have used previously.
Overall we had a fab holiday, would go again and bear in mind when writing reviews that 5 star hotels in Egypt are not equivalent to uk 5 stars so as long as you don't go with that in mind I'm sure you will also be pleased!

No its Not a 5* but wher can you find a 5* all inclusive for £20 per night??? t is 1 million times better than a travel lodge and all you get there is a bed.

This was our 2nd time at this hotel and we have booked to go back sept 2013 and dec 2013.

We must have visited a different hotel to the moaners, we had a large spotless sea view room with two large beds, a fridge, a safe, a balcony, english tv chanels and a large clean bathroom.

There was always something different to eat, Morning Noon & Night a different theme every night, we did not eat out at all as the food was good, if you want burger and chips etc then stay in england or if you want someone to be your slave for you then book into Baron Palms and pay £150 per person per ninght and not £20 you get what you pay for.

I manage a 3* hotel in england its 17th century and quirky they get there stars in egypt the same as in the uk ie on the services they offer. This hotel offers all the services that would entitle them to the 5* rating. Its not stuck up would you want a stuck up hotel when the temperature is about 40.

We visit sharm about 3 times a year NABQ area is the best in sharm, we have stayed at Coral Sea Resort, Royal Grand Azure, AA Amwaj, Laguna Vista Garden, Laguna Vista Beach, Tropican Grand Azure. Sharm Grand Plaza was the best by far, it beat all of the others on service, room quality, food variety & value for money.

If there is a negative with this hotel its the entertainment, the italian entertainers should be sacked they were only interested in italian guests.

What The Moaners Moan About.

No Kettle in room - Take a Travel Kettle or rent from hotel.

No wine in Bar - Get a glass or 2 with your dinner and take it with you

A La Carte not included - you holiday has cost you so little dont be tight and buy a meal if you want one after all you have only spent £20 for as much as you can eat, drink, romm serviced daily, New Sheets & Towels Daily, Free Safe etc etc

Brown Mark On Grout Line - The temperatur is minimun 20 the bathrooms stay damp due to the heat, you get these marks on your grout at home we clean it dry it and polish it, there is no way of not getting it you get it in every bathroom around the world that has a humid temperature the housekeeping guys clean every where every day its not dirt.

Upset Belly - We did not suffer with this and we never have, the people that sufferd with this and moaned about it were sat at the bar from 10 am to 11pm in heat, we wont blame the drink lets blame the food, we ate curry, salad, ice cream etc etc and we did not get it.

Tip avoid where the italians sit on the beach, they look like female and male hookers they are very loud and there kids are very badly behaved.
every one moans about the Russians and the Polish etc etc we never had any problems with any nationality apart from the italians, when we worked out what colour wrist bands they had we avoided them like the plague.

If you have booked this hotel ignore the bad reviews and look forward to you holiday, if you think of anything negative ask yourself what can you get for £20 in england

Room Tip: Ignore the negative reviews go with an open mind, enjoy your holiday and remember you have paid very...

Just arrived back from a 7 night stay in sharm grand plaza and after reading the reviews i was slightly nervous to say the least, however please do not be put off with the negative comments as this hotel can not do enought for you !!
we arrived tuesday afternoon and check in was pretty quick and was shown up to our hotel room we was situated in the seagull block just in front of reception which was a slight walk from the busy parts of the hotel howver was nice and queit at night and was near a quiet pool next to the nino bar :)
rooms have 2 big double beds with enought storage space for clothes etc .. yes bathrooms are slightly dated but who spends all there holiday in there bathroom !!
rooms cleaned on a daily basis with fresh clean towels if asked for !!
Fresh pool/beach towels where provided each day so dont pack any as it pointless.
the staff was very friendly and couldnt do enough for you , aladine the owner of the pufume shop is a honest and caring gentleman who will welcome you with open arms and always offering you mint tea and aloe vero to sooth sun burn and mozi bites and didnt pressure you into purchasing anything from his shop..
we booked the quad bikes with marco who does the excusion trips he was a very nice guy and always came to say hello when we was sat around the pool etc.
we had a trip into the spa one day and i must say this is a must if you want to relax paid about 60 english piund 600 egyptian full 2 and half hours pure relaxation !!
One thing you need to do is buys a snorkle set and go off the end of the jetty and discover the different world of fishes under the sea ! smiley the life guard is always on hand to making sure people are ok and even saved me on the odd occasion ( really nice gentleman )

hotel is massive so take a day just walking around grounds kept amazing and constantly being worked on to make sure they was in imaculate condition :)

the food is typical all inclusive food has to cater for everyone it is edible please dont be put off by thinking you will get a tummy bug , yes i did but i personally put this down to the amount of alcohol consumed , however a trip to local chemist and a few tablets later all sorted ... on a monday the starfish resturant turns into a bbq for british only and the food was amazing !!
also there is the nutts bar located just near the main entertainment hall - which turns into a disco untill 2pm (stock up on drinks though as all in finishes ta 11pm) - only downside to the whole hotel !!
Have a walk over to the union jack bar over the road for english food and cheap drinks with fanstatic atmosphere .. a must if you missing english food

pack off spray for mosquitoes i got bit but not from hotel room just at night ( however if you do get the odd one in your room ask recpetion for some spray to kill them off )

last but not least i would like to say the animation team are fantastic working morning till night making sure you are entertianed .. daily activites from water polo darts aqua arobics and many more ... and there daily dance which did make me chuckle .. matty the einglish animation boy was a enthusiastic young man and always smiling and cheerfull, making sure everyone was having a nice holiday .. a credit to the animation team if i do say so myself !!!

(these are just a few bits about hotel as too much to write but honestly please dont be put off with the bad reviews )

the only down side to the hotel is the russains they are RUDE ,be aware they will push in at dinner and will not que up for drinks ..so just be prepared to be amazed at how rude they are ..

all in all i have had an amazing holiday and i can honeslty say i will be returning to this hotel in the near future !! one of the best holidays i have ever had :) :)

thank you for making this happen !!!

This hotel is most definately NOT 5 star. It may have been back in the 1980's but needs serious attention with its decor, service and general attitude to guests.
If you idea of top notch gourmet food is Nando's then you'll love it but if you have the slightest hint of sophistication then book somewhere else as you'll cry at what's on offer here.
Rooms are tired, bathrooms are very shoddy and all the rooms no matter what you pay are THE SAME!
The animation staff try their best but the service staff have no idea of what service actually is....
The pool and beach are very noisy, low quality and the sun loungers are dangerous.
We complained and were offered all sorts of platitudes but none were followed through.
Please book somewhere else....!

We have just arrived back from a week's holiday and we had a lovely time, the weather was great and as always with Sharm the service at the hotel was very good. Certainly not the best 5 star in Sharm that I have been to (this was my 5th visit to Sharm), but then its not the most expensive I have been to either. The room we had was a standard and very spacious, a little tired but not too bad, very clean and the bed very comfortable. The food is ok, on the odd occasion quite good but not great. There are a few things that let hotel down, the lack of comfortable seating at the 2 all inclusive bars, and in fact there isnt enough seating at either in the evenings and both are outside, we ended up going to the bar in the reception area which you pay for, simply so we could relax and sit in comfort., I would strongly suggest that an inside all inclusive bar with comfortable seats, would make it much more enjoyable. The lack of a quiet pool, which at this time of year is not a big issue but, I can imagine when the season is in full swing for 'older' couples (50 +)like us it could be a problem. its such a shame as right outside the Riviera restaurant is a pool that isnt used at all, it is just for decoration, although I imagine at one time it was meant to be a pool as there are steps down. We had to pay for tea/coffee making facilities in our room, didnt cost much only £28 for the week, which included soft drinks in the fridge too, so although not a expensive, it would have been nice to have it the first night we arrived especially as we didnt get there til evening and you are still trying to find your feet until you have been to the welcome meeting next morning, personally I would rather it was included and added on to the cost of the holiday. One other thing that lets it down, the restaurants that you have to pay for - if you got a choice of even one as part of the all inclusive package just once a week I think it would be good, we went for a walk round every evening and they were always just about empty, it would probably make more sense to charge a little extra on the holiday and get them used! we would have gone but to be honest the menu's were not that appealing to us, my husband doesnt care for fish and the other 2 werent different enough to make it worth paying for, if they'd had a chinese we would certainly have been prepared to pay at least once in the week we were there. I know it sounds as though I am being negative and I dont really mean to be, we did have a lovely time just that I think the things I have mentioned would mean that it deserves its 5 star rating, at the moment I certainly wouldnt rate it any higher than 4. However with everything that I have said, I did enjoy it, I wouldnt go back to this hotel myself, but it is good value for money.

We stayed here for one week 24 october to 1 november.
lovely weather throughout the stay... 35C air/ 25C sea temperatures
We chose this hotel not only for 2012 tripadvisor Certificate of excellence award but for good reviews also.
The staff are great, friendly, polite and eager to help. Chelsea and Vlada in the kids club were great so our son was well looked after... Thank you both very much!!! Kids club open 10 am to 17.30 so parents can relax themselves...and enjoy the swim or whatever they want to get done.
Most of i liked snorkelling of the jetty... great variaty of fish, beautifull coral and clear water makes this place a prime holiday destination, we did scuba diving, parasailing, dolphin swim etc
TIP: take underwater camera with you, take mask, snorkel and a fins as sometimes current is strong and against you, if you good at haggling you can buy all those things locally for same money or cheaper but shop around dont buy at first place and haggle.... start by cutting price by 50%
Rooms in a hotel - Very large! Between one couple we had 2 double beds, a large dressing table, a big wardrobe with working safe inside, TV, mini fridge, chairs and table to sit around, nice sized balcony and a good sized bathroom with bath, shower and decent hair dryer, working aircon which was running all night and we could sleep well. We didnt get any towel art and room was cleaned every afternoon around 4pm but it was done spotlessly by the way you can gettowel changed daily if you live it on the floor. Room checkin in @14:00 and check out 12:00 midday, you can extend until 18:00 for 20$ per person, til 21:00 is 40$ pp
All inclusive is a breakfast (7:00-10:00), lunch (12:30-14.30 Grill house) , (13:00-15:00 Riviera restaurant), (13:00-14:30 Palmera restaurant), Supper (19:00-22:00 Riviera) and (18:00-21:00 Palmera) and also little bites twice a day at pool bars (11:00-12:00 and 16:00-17:00) and you get icecream there from 13:00-14:00, as for alcohol you get prety much everything but egyptian made i didn't expect much from all inclusive anyway,we are not fussy eaters but food was repetative, entertaiment abit boring but if you dont like evening show of animation team in theatre you dont have to go far N.U.T.S bar is right opposite and you can relax in this airconditioned and fancy discobar with a glass of whatever ...alcohol is all inclussive till 23:00 then you have yo pay

If you are first time to Sharm el Shekh you dont need visa if you stay in Sinai peninsula you only need visa for bus trip to Ras Mohammed, you dont need visa for boat trips
Think about upset stomack (travellers diarrhoea)...everyone gets it in some form or shape is just Egypt...some blame local food , water, exess alcohol, thermal shock etc .TIP get some immodium and good old first aid kit, avoid salad or anithing that washed in water,no icecubes in your drinks, piping hot food only, paper money is a main sourse of bacteria make sure you get antibacterial hand gel and use it before handling food.
Don't go right out of main entrance of the hotel you get dragged in to Alladeen parfume shop
and he will tell you stories on how he makes his collection of parfumes and hell give you mint tea and rub some extracts in your skin you gonna like it but hi will overcharge you 200% instead go out of hotel compaund turn left accross the road you find same extracts at lower prices.
Bare in mind is international hotel You get British wearing grey band,Russians wearing red band, Polish wearing yellow band, Italians wearing blue band

Excursions we got via street operators "Red sea divers" as Easy dive were twice the price for same scuba diving Tiran island trip, we did it only for USA 110$ total for 3 of us with 2 dives each adult, 4 dives in total
We did parasailing for USA 55$ total including transfer
But main thig you dont have to go far and pay a lot just go to snorkel of jetty ITS FREE you ll see different type of fish and coral.

There is HyperMarket out of main hotel turn right 10 mins walk were youll see real prices and pay over the counter if you fancy a little shopping, 100 yard before that is local currency exchange with a best rates we found

In The end this hotel is fantastic facilities to suit all tastes they take customer care seriously!!!
We had lovely holiday and we wish you the same

Room Tip: We stayed in Dolphin block 3136 garden view room is close to kids club i was happy but Tiran block...
