Sea Club Resort - Sharm el Sheikh

Reviewed March 31, 2014

I have no complaints about my stay at Sea Club Resort. First impressions were excellent. Its a very short drive from the airport away from the main resort which is ok for me as I don't tend to leave the complex unless on organised trips. The reception staff were friendly and efficient, taking our bags and giving us a tour of the grounds before taking us to our room. We had paid for a sea view which was lovely but the grounds are all so pretty and well kept any room would be good I am sure. I had to take hay fever tablets which luckily I had with me presumably because of all the flowers. There is good access everywhere with ramps near to steps but its not on the flat. There is a gentle slope from the accommodation and pool area up to the main building.
The rooms are large and very clean. We had a fridge with a bottle of water, tea and coffee facilities (you can get a cup of milk from the pool bar if you don't like creamer) and a hair drier. There is plenty of draw and hanging space and the safe is free of charge. The sheets and duvet covers are good quality. Air con was a bit loud but worked well.
The pool area is very nice. The sun beds are so comfortable with thick mattresses and you are not crowded in so you can turn to face the sun or stay in the shade. The towels are luxurious, thick and long enough to cover the whole sun bed and people tended to take them with them when they got up instead of hogging the beds so there was always some to choose from say after lunch. The beach also has the same sunbeds. Take a mask with you because even in the shallow water there are fish galore and when the sea is calm you can go along the jetty and snorkel along the edge of the reef. The fish and coral here are wonderful. If you have an underwater camera take it The hotel overlooks the island and the wreck on the reef which we went to on a speed boat trip organised by the dive centre based at the hotel. We were lucky enough to meet up with a large pod of dolphins (we guess about 250) that swam along side the boats on our way home. This cant be promised each time but the coral and fish can.
There are men encouraging you to have hair and beauty treatments and massages also but they are friendly rather than pushy and the facilities look nice.
The animation team also are very active but do everything away from the main area so its not in your face.
All the food was good quality. The buffet was not the best I have had for variety but you do have 4 restaurants to book al a carte so you cant complain and what was there was nice. The staff seem to remember you which is amazing with such a big turnover but they love the English and like to chat to improve their language and are prompt to get you a drink which is served at your table.
The weather was great. although it was 30 degrees it did not feel sticky as there was a breeze. It got cloudy on the day we went snorkelling but otherwise blue sky all the way.
They are building another hotel right next store but except for a low noise in the background at times throughout the day it was not a problem and usually you could not hear it as there is always some music playing. It was no worse than the air con and you tuned it out easily.
The all inclusive is 24 hour but there are some drinks available for an extra charge eg. Heineken beer and some cocktails they brought around the pool. we found plenty to our taste from the all inclusive range. the wine was nice and we had rum and cokes and gin and tonics (Schweppes)
you could use the facilities in all 3 hotels in the group and they let you know the theme for each one on the board daily and this went for the entertainment too. There was a jungle bar open from 11pm with dancing and music but we never got there. we were too relaxed and a day sleeping and reading on the sunbed was exhausting.

We have just got back from a stay at the Sea Group Resorts Sharm El Sheikh. A complex of three hotels grouped together on the shore at Nabq Bay. We stayed at Sea Club which is designed in a more classic middle eastern design, and in our opinion the nicest. This was our second visit to Egypt, the last being a Nile Cruise, and was an experience my wife and I will never forget.
We have stayed at top class hotels in Europe, the Caribbean, Cuba, Mexico and all over the USA. I can honestly say that the staff we had great pleasure in meeting at Sea Club were the best and friendliest we have ever met. Shehata the front office manager was excellent. We had one slight problem, (which was beyond human control until it happened), but Shehata dealt with it very quickly and professionally, and compensated us for our inconvenience, without any prompting. He is also a lovely pleasant man who enjoys his job.
Besides the main dining area, which again has good tentative staff, there are four Al-a-Carte restaurants. The French Restaurant, The Pescattore, ( Italian ), The El Diwania, and the Teppenyaki. We only missed out on the Teppenyaki because I made a mistake on the dates.
All of these served exceptional food giving excellent and friendly service by all of the staff in really nice surroundings. However I must pick out Abgad the boss, Abdallah and the rest of the boys who gave us extremely good service and loads of fun, both at lunch and in the evening. We celebrated our 25th at the Pescattore. As I was booking with Abgad I mentioned ths to him. When we turned up at 8pm the table was decorated, we had the place to ourselves and the guy's came out to sing and bring us a cake. It made the whole holiday really special. There are so many staff that were fabulous but I can't remember all their names. all the ones we met were tentative respectful and had really good senses of humour. This Hotel should be 5 star just for the level of treatment we received regardless of anything else. Thank you all for making this a really wonderful holiday. EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: All rooms are in good positions, ours was 2101 near the pool good spot

It's with regret that you experienced a problem during the stay however, we are pleased it was resolved efficiently and to your expectations. The positive comments regarding the food you experienced in the set menu restaurants will be passed onto the Chefs, may i suggest you visit the Teppanyaki should you return in the future.

The service we received from booking in to booking out was excellent, very friendly and helpful staff at reception then we were guided to our room, on the way amenities were pointed out, our luggage was delivered very shortly after we arrived at our room, which was incidently, very well furnished. clean and as we discovered later, the bed was very very comfortable. Food was excellent, we tried all the al a carte restaurants as well as the other two restaurants in the resort and again the staff from Chef to waiters were very helpful and always polite and friendly. I took part in the Aqua classes and spoke to people who joined in with the other activities on offer all very well run and good fun.

The life guards on the pier and beach were informative and very attentive to the safety of everyone in the sea, access to which was easy for all.

Room Tip: We were in block 202 which was opposite the pool but only about 150 yards from beach.

Just returned from the sea club last night & our group of four have had the most fantastic holiday, mainly thanks to the fantastic service staff that made our trip so memorable! On arrival at the resort we were met by some great guys on reception who made us feel very welcome. We were escorted to our rooms and luggage was delivered promptly. The rooms were spacious, clean and stocked with enough mineral water to keep us going (tea/coffee/kettle in rooms also). As we arrived about 6.30pm we just went to sea club bar & buffet for first evening and I agree with a previous reviewer that the restaurant is a bit manic but the food choices were good and staff were friendly.
On our first morning we explored the beach area (good - with tout-free relaxation area), then up onto sea life and sea gardens, both of which have their own reception, buffet, bar and pool. We chose the sea garden pool to spend our days where Nadine (animation team) made us feel incredibly welcome - she is such a lovely young lady - and Mahmoud and all the guys at the pool bar/towel hut kept us fed and watered non-stop!! The buffet at sea garden which we used for many lunches was good and the staff there were also really friendly.
But the BEST place to be was in sea life - I have never met soooo many lovely people in one place before! The buffet food was great but it's the staff who keep you returning to sea life - here I have to give you a roll call of names of the most amazing, hard-working, lovely people who really go the extra mile to make your stay enjoyable:-
Tamer, Abdo, Mohammed, Moustafa, Mahmoud, Ragab and Bakr. What a fabulous team, I cannot thank them enough for everthing they did to make us feel so welcome - it was so hard to say goodbye to them all as it felt like I was saying goodbye to family.
The a-la-carte restaurants were very good, great settings, delicious food and fun people - and this is where I have to mention some more special people! You MUST experience the lebanese & japanese restaurants - but not only for the food! In the japanese Mohammed will make sure you not only feel very welcome but also ensure you have a totally entertaining experience, our chef was Solaal (I have definitely spelt this wrong!) who is so funny and incredible when flipping cooking tools, rice bowls, etc! A great show-cooking experience! And for the lebanese we had the wonderful Mehmad (think I've spelt this wrong too!) who made sure we had a great evening and some delicious food!
I don't want anyone to think the french and italian restaurants were 2nd rate - they most definitely were not - but I lost track of all the names! But a big thankyou to Hal and Abdul Elafeef (french) and the lovely staff at the italian who got us up dancing!
Finally, I gotta shout out Moustafa and Mohammed who served us a never ending stream of drinks at the sea life bar, always with a smile!
Ultimately, what I am saying is the hotel is great (yes it is predominantly eastern european guests but that was not a problem for us), the a-la-carte provide fab catering and the buffet offers more than enough choice - but what will make the holiday so great is the fantastic people who work there. I would strongly recommend this resort to anyone.
