“Excellent holiday - will go back !”
Reviewed July 20, 2014

Just back from a 2 week holiday here. Kids 9 and 5yrs found the kids club really good fun and animation staff were fab with them. Please note that this is a hotel run club and not a Thomsons one so a bit different, however, it ran from 10-1pm and then again 2-5pm.
Kids disco was around 8pm and not 8.30pm stated on our info so remember that so your kids don't miss out.
Plenty to do around the hotel with water polo twice a day, water aerobics, yoga, volleyball, football if you wished to be energetic. Staff would shout out what was happening but never bothered you if you didn't want to be involved.
The spa treatments have got to be done ! Never in my life have I felt so relaxed until my hubby and I had an exfoliation treatment and massage. Amazing !!!
Food was the usual buffet help yourself with loads of choice. The family restaurant felt a little canteen like so very informal however this didn't distract from the good food and great service from the staff. Fahti, Ahmed, Nabil (sous chef) were fab and always looked after us. Their hand cut chips were one of my favourites ! They also had an adults only restaurant which we didn't get to but heard it was very good.
There are 3 a la carte restaurants which you get to pick from each week. Asian, Italian and Mediterranean but we especially enjoyed the Asian - vey tasty !
From midnight you could also get pizza and chips from the italian restaurant- we sampled this a couple of nights, tasty too !

Water park had 5 slides which are in the next door hotel (the Mirabel park). All 4 of us enjoyed these and very easy to walk to. Rest of the pools were of very good standard and plenty of sunbeds.
Beach was nearly deserted when we were there so pick of sunbeds there too.

We encountered a couple of problems i.e locked out of our room safe and also one of the kids put the security bar on the door while we went out of the front patio doors so had to contact the reception staff and both items were dealt with immediately. Nothing a problem to the staff.

Wifi let the hotel down as it was very patchy and slow and also the fact that you had to log in every time you accessed it was not good either.
The general ambience of the family restaurant could have been better - people seemed to stay only for short time while we liked to take our time to enjoy our food and often were last ones to leave.
No where opened between 5pm and 7pm for food so would be beneficial for one of the snack bars to remain open as kids do like to eat during this time.

It is only for these reason above that we rated it 4 star and not 5 but still would love to return at some point.
If you have kids, don't hesitate - you will enjoy it !!

Room Tip: Our room was around half way from the main building to the beach and was always very quiet. Found no...

We have just returned from 2wks at the Jaz Mirabel beach, Had a great time, Hotel entrance is amazing when u arrive,u can see it looks 5star,our room was 2379 which had a lovely view off the pool, the room had very clean bed linen, towels and had lots off space for clothes,a FREE safe in your room and on arrival complementary bottle off coke and fanta and water to start us off, there is a fridge which is stocked with juice, wine beer etc but it's quite expensive, our room was kept clean the whole holiday cleaner was great, making the towel art which the girls loved, the bathroom had great walk in shower, which was ok,but probably being picky here but the grout could have done with a good bleach, which I borrowed off the trolley a few times and came up great lol.lots off space in the room sliding doors for privacy girls age 11 and 12 liked there side off the room, there is a kettle u can make tea or coffee, but bit hot for that, overall room was good, decor just a bit tired could do with an update. We ate in the family restaurant,we enjoyed the food, there was always something for us all to eat,and our waiter Ahmed was brilliant lovely wee guy, gave him £5 each week he would have our table ready, bring our drinks without asking, after dinner brought us coffee, there was nothing to much trouble for him. Didn't eat in the adult only restaurant so can't comment on that.the pools were great only by the afternoon it was like going for a hot bath when all you wanted was cold water, towel guys very nice, all bars around pool staff lovely, the two snack bars threw the day weren't up to much,a burger or a toastie and a few chips, was just ok, plenty off sun beds and shaded area to get away from the mid day sun, just wish people wouldn't put towels down and not use the beds all day, the beach is great nice n quiet,as there isn't any sand very fine gravel, The wee rubber shoes are a must if u want to go into the sea, sea very shallow until the end off the jetty, but then only waist height, would recommend u either take or buy a snorkel for looking at the amazing fish it's a must, Right now for a few helpful hints 1. If u have a problem with getting mosquito bites buy a spray called OFF in a red can, they sell it in the shops on site should be around £3 don't pay anymore for it haggle haggle haggle for everything lol.2. Now as much as I like Thomsons holidays at the welcome meeting when u arrive, you will be told about all the trips they do and they do advise you to book threw them, but outside the complex you will find lots off excursion shops selling the same trips for half the price,we have been to nabq before and done all the trips but our friends were staying in the coral sea resort and booked quads bikes and beech bugged into the start off the desert and had a fab safe trip, then they booked a day out on a speed boat snorkelling at some off the amazing coral sites, the guy took some amazing pics for them they had a brilliant day out and there 3rd trip was to soho square for the nite (very expensive) to shop there.but all 3 trips they booked threw TIME TRAVEL up at La strada.3.WIFI is like gold dust in nabq lol u get 150mb per room during your stay for 2 devices for free lol ha ha which last u all off 2 days if ur lucky. Now if your are going and have iPhones,iPad any other phone,YOU CAN GO INTO MOST EXCURSION SHOPS AND HIRE A WIFI BOX FROM THEM, u will pay about £30 for 2wks and £15 for a week,If u like your social networking and even to contact home threw wifi it's a very small box that u keep in ur pocket or handbag all u have to do is keep it charged and u have 24hours wifi for ur whole holiday it's fab,but they don't tell u that at the welcome meetings, When ur staying in the Jaz there is a shop 5 mins walk away called SKY EXCURSIONS the guys were brilliant, highly recommend this shop for your wifi box and also do great trips at good prices, and if your lucky you will get to meet Victoria such a beautiful family dog sits out front on her seat.4.It might be your first time in Sharm El Sheikh and you might have been told oh don't venture out the complex it's not safe, that is a load off crap, as long as your sensible, you will get all the shop keepers trying to get u to come into there shops that's what they do it's very normal to them,we think it's hastle but it's just the way they are so please don't be afraid to go out and about in Nabq, a polite no thank you and walk on,they might yabble something in Egyption but please go out have a laugh with them they are only trying to make a living, we were in Nabq 3 yrs ago and it was a busy thriving resort noticed a big change this time, especially when u go out at night which we did a lot as entertainment not up to much in the Jaz,especially for young couples or groups off friends recommend the Hard Rock Cafe at night great cocktails and air con lol also been in KFC ,McDonald's ,Burger King, Starbucks all very good and reasonable prices,5. Now for the shopping girls lol u will find lots off fake designer handbags in all the shops some are crap fakes and some are very good, they will start off at some crazy price like £50 just laugh and say no no no £20 English he will flap a little lol do not pay anymore than £25-£28 for latest design MK bag, channel, jimmy chow, etc check all zips work and inside u will find that most off them have inside identical to real bags, converse and vans are all the rag for fakes but double check everything that the 2 shoes look the same are a right and a left, and always double check the size before u leave the shop or stall, they are very good and quick at switching them for dodgy pair lol that don't even match,tShirts are good quality pay about £7 for fake Diesel,Hollister, etc, and they have beautiful Egyptian towels and fake ICE watches they are about £3 English they start off at £50 lol but u can get them down to £3. I love to haggle it's great fun and they love it.6. When u are outside the complex stay away from the camel men u will know them when u see them they are horrible don't take a pic off there camel he will charge u a fortune or try get ur camera off u just stay clear. 7. There is lots off shops in the Jaz but they can be expensive, we either walked (20mins) or u can get taxi £5 or wee mini bus £3 that's for 4 people up to La Strada there is a large supermarket called METRO there u can pic up coke fanta sprite 30p a can, also crisps and choc and sweets for the kids very cheap so stock up while ur there. But please go out see the real sharm it's a magical place. Right back to the Jaz mirabel we tried the Italian rest Ninos it was fab, dress code for gents long trousers if u want to sit inside highly recommend as if your there 2 wks u can pick 2 out off the 3 restaurants as part off your all inclusive the Italian was the best choice for us. And also down at the shops at night you will find the el shisha pipes where u can sit and enjoy a puff but mind the Mosquitos are out at night so any seat that has cushions be very aware they like living in the cushions waiting for a juicy leg so mind use your OFF spray before u go out. There is a nice path long the beach front when u go down and if you turn right 5 mins walk is the sun burnt arms a British run bar with DJRob and few mins walk more there is the Britannia bar it's a safe walk as there is security guards on all entrances to the hotels on the beach front.only other tip is please be prepared for the heat highly recommend factor 50 for all the family and drink lots off water and the air con in the room is great you will need it hope all who is going there this year have a fantastic holiday and mind take some pound coins to tip and u will find that lots off the waiters and cleaners will ask you when yours going home to change the coins into English notes as they can't use the coins so please if u gave any English notes left at the end off your holiday try bad exchange them for coins to bring home am sure your favorite waiter or anyone working in the hotel will ask .

Room Tip: Ask for a room that looks onto the pools but if u have children in buggy or anyone that needs wheelc...

Stayed at Jaz Mirabel Beach for 2 weeks and just got back. It was a nice hotel just a shame about the hotel staff, they are rude and don't care about anything unless you are giving them money.
I don't mind tipping people but when you have cleaners and waiters putting there hand out in front of you expecting money from you every day it can ruin your holiday.
The hotel overall was very clean and had the right amount of people staying there, all though I wouldn't like to stay there in the school holidays because it would be too busy!
The food was nice and I'm a fussy eater there was abit to choose from at night but we had to que up outside the restraunt for about 10 minutes until they would get you a table!
The kids entertainment was poor, the singers was the only good thing about the entertainment.
The beach was so nice! Was not busy at all and you could lie there and a waiter would bring you drinks over (if he knew you would tip him)
The rooms are big and always cleaned there is a safe to use for free.
There was one English woman who worked for the Hotel and at the end of our holiday she would come up to you and ask you how your holiday was and what you thought of the staff etc. When I told her my honest opinion about the staff she would pull faces.
I probably will never go back to Egypt mainly because of the rudeness of the people there and always demanding English money of you, it's a shame the hotel hasn't got politer staff because I think people wouldn't be put off by going there again.

This is effectively 3 hotels in one-Beach, Park and Club. As a result there is something for everyone. Club is the quiet part of the complex, Park more compact with water slides and Beach which has extensive grounds and pools leading to a relatively deserted hard sand beach around a shallow coral bay. The whole place is ideal for families of all generations. Comparatively this is a good 4 star resort. Service on the whole is good. The staff work hard. Tips are appreciated but you have no obligation. You are not hassled in this resort at all; the beach is private and security keen.

Weather is great 38-42 degrees, cloudless skies, warm breeze and dry heat. Good provision of beds at pools and on beach. There is a good selection of pool bars and restaurants from child friendly dining to adult only options. Food was varied and of a high quality throughout our 2 week stay. Sports can be played daily and there is the usual entertainment at night.

Only gripes are minor: wifi is not free apart from minuscule allowance. Also the 'long trouser' rule in adult restaurants is archaic and inappropriate in such heat.

Go, enjoy the facilities and the weather. The staff appreciate the custom in the turndown due to the political situation. Be realistic. It is Egypt. It is colourful and at times maybe a little chaotic but this is a relative oasis of quality in Sharm; fundamentally is pretty good value for money too!

Room Tip: Choose the Beach rather than Park. Go for pool or sea view. Garden view choice would be a shame on t...

My partner and I have just returned from the most amazing stay at Jaz Mirabel Beach. It was our first time in Egypt so we were a little unsure what to expect but they certainly did not disappoint. The night we arrived we were given a welcome cocktail while we signed in and got our all inclusive wrist bands then whisked down to our room on a golf buggy and had our cases carried to the room for us. The hotel and facilities were lovely, the beach, although a little rough so had to wear flip flops or coral shoes when on it, was so relaxing with waiting staff coming round to take drinks orders every now and again. With the water being so shallow for about 1km out it was perfect for snorkelling up close to see some of the wonderful marine fish! The restaurant staff catered to your every whim! So pleasant & polite (unfortunately the same could not be said for some of the holiday makers there who treated staff very disrespectfully!). Waiters would help you find a table if it was busy, get you your drinks and bring you a topped up glass before you had finished your first (my kind of service :))!!). We found as we were polite friendly and chatty with waiting staff they really made sure they looked after us each time we went in to eat. We both had an amazing time here and most certainly recommend it! The hotel facilities, the views, the weather and the welcoming staff make this a must stay!!

My girlfriend and I recently stayed at Jaz Mirabel Beach for 11 nights and had a lovely stay there. The food, hotel and entertainment all met our expectations and we enjoyed our stay greatly.

A special mention must be made to a waiter called MIMI who worked at the Las Palmas Bar by the pool. Despite working during ramadam meaning he couldn't have a drink all day in 40 degree heat, he was so warm, friendly and always made an effort to talk to us each day. He would regularly get us drinks even if we had not asked (he always remembered to get us 2 lemonades) and made our stay at the hotel so pleasant. He was a lovely guy, who made every effort for our stay to be enjoyable, he did a fantastic job!!

The hotel is on the beach but for a 5 star resort I expected the waiting staff to be more friendly and obliging. They were very surly and the same goes for the reception staff too who would not even say good morning or Salem as they say in Egypt. Food choice not good enough although the meal we had in the steakhouse (you had a choice but could only visit once) was amazing and the waiters there were very attentive and they smiled too!

You could not really go into the sea as it was too shallow (only 2 feet deep max) so you had to walk a mile along the jetty to be able to have a swim and then if you are not a strong swimmer then you feel out if your depth. Had a walk along the beech ( which is shingle!) and went to step onto another jetty and we were told we had to pay!

Once you step out if the hotel ( which I would not advise) it is quite derelict and the few shops nearby were rubbish. You are constantly harassed to go in and we were told by the Thomson rep not to go in the shops unless you were definitely going to buy something. There had been reports of customers being locked in the shops. We wee also told not to go on a camel or tandem photos as phones/ cameras would vid confiscated unless you page a ridiculous amount yo get them back.

They are constantly asking you to tip staff which I found relentless by the end..
Overall did not enjoy the Egypt experience at all and will ni give going back - very disappointed
