They continue to upgrade this hotel. The staff still the best ever! Nothing too much trouble. Be back next year. Weather perfect at this time of the year, rooms spotlessly clean as is everywhere else. Coffee bar welcomed addition. Water slides good, and pool room.

Room Tip: Active pool rooms

location at the end of Nabq village.
close to the sea and beach accomodation ok
choice in resto's more than ok; meditteranean, Maroc, European and Italian. Sushi resto is not in all inclusive.
matrass of the beds are thin.
swimming facilities are very well. 2 large pools , and mini pools per block. there was no fuss about choosing chairs and umbrellas each morning, so plenty enough

Just returned from nine nights with the kids aged 10 &13. Arrived at the airport and the hotels pre-booked taxi did not come for us. A bad start but it got better and better from then on.
Reception - swift check-in, we were shown personally to our family room. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms .We had a garden view but with 90% occupancy I was not going to demand a pool view. Room cleaned well every day by a true professional and beach towel provision was good.
Resort large with lots of choice of restaurants, coffee bars, flume park, jetty for fantastic snorkeling.
We were really impressed with the facilities and it did not bother us too much when the sales guys started their sales pitch around the pools, although when we were approached by four different scuba sales guys within 20 minutes on the first day I thought it would be a one off.
Normally in these places you get the scuba guy, then the camel guy, then the massage guy coming round once a day and after two or three days they realise you are not interested and leave you alone. This did not happen at the RAM and we were persistently harassed for the first six days. We found out that if you got a red flag from reception and hung it from your parasol the sales sharks would leave you alone. We put up the red flag and within a twenty minute period we were approached three times by various touts with one plonker from the massage team saying "when you are ready to take down your red flag we can have a massage and you can kiss my cheek here" To my utmost disbelief!
By the next day they seemed to have got the message and we were left alone to enjoy the remainder of our holiday.
Pools -excellent, Food - excellent, Choice of restaurants - excellent. Kids club - excellent, "Clare your a star!" Animation team - excellent. Staff - excellent. We tipped a bit but felt the staff did not expect it and were happy to provide a good service. Drinks, beer cold and refreshing. Bring a pint glass and they're happy to fill it up! Coffee bars - excellent!
Nabq, I went out once and the main street was like a ghost town. After constant harassment from taxi drivers and shop keepers I returned to the RAM and never left it until it was time to go home. I was in Egypt last year for the first time and went to Cairo and Luxor but this time I was here for relaxation and felt there was no need to venture out. Perhaps if the shopkeepers were less pushy then I may be tempted to browse in their shops!
Although I have gone into detail about the negatives, the positives far outweigh them and we had a fantastic holiday.
As I said in the title this would have been the perfect holiday. We will definitely return, however the first thing we will do on arrival is get a red flag!

we have just returned from our 2nd stay at the albatros oct 19th-26th 2 adults and 2 children
13yrs and 12yrs. we had a great room near the water park the food had improved . i think that the
hotel has listened to what people have written because there were changes . first the cinema has moved outside which was a very good move as it keeps kids interested as last year most had nothing to do but run around and cause havoc for those without ,2nd last year for ice creams and coffee there was a little van now there is a smart bar inside and a large one outside. as usual the hotel is spotless the water park good and clean , the great thing about this hotel is the jetty , you can walk a quarter of a mile in shallow water where you'll see eels, fish, and other amazing marine life then you reach the end and then you swim over the coral
and into the deep! we took an intro scuba dive through the hotel and as it was my son's first
dive i was a little nervous but they were very professional and very good would defo recommend . the only gripe i have was last year there were 2 times you could get doghnuts and pancakes now there is one time during the day 4pm and the ques are too long and people were getting annoyed so if this gets sorted for next year then we;ll have nothing to whinge about!!
other than that top marks and we'll be back next year.

Room Tip: if your not happy with your room ask!!!!!!they will do their best to move you

The resort is just as good as in the photos. Great pools. Excellent beach and the water park.
The staff were really freindly and looked after us really well.
Food was hit and miss and both myself and my partner were ill during the holiday.
Who said forget the Spa? It was great. My partner and her daughter wanted the full works. Massage, steam room, sauna, mud bath, jacuzzi etc. Normal price £75 each. Play hardball with these people. 4 of us ended up having the works for £100 (just £25 each)
The beach was great and clean and the sea was clear with fish swimming round your toes.
The bar staff (if you were lucky) served you at the table but good luck with the alcoholic drinks. I stuck to the rather week beer. Jane tried to find a drink she liked without luck.
You played Russian Roulette with the cocktails (many tasted like paint stripper) We ended up on Coke and Sprite.
Entertertainment...what entertainment? I believe a few things happened during the day but never saw it. The evening was half hour of a kids mini disco at 8.30 then 9.30 half hour of...your guess was as good as mine. A lot of it was not sutable for the children that were there.
Saying that it took us 2 days to find the entertainment area! Its not in the main arena as featured in brochures and videos....that sits dark and empty.
The water park was great. 8 great slides but i do recomend you get there at 10am when it opens because from 12 onwards it is packed with very little supervision and its a free for all on the inflatables you need to go on the slides.
A couple of musts if you go to this area. Snorling. For about £25 each you get taken by boat to 3 or 4 different ares in the red sea where you go in and just lie on the calm sea looking down at the sea life. (red sea high salt content...you dont sink you float) this also includes drinks and lunch and all the equipment.
Jeep Safari.. A trip in a jeep across the dessert. Then a Camel ride. Meet the local Bedouins tribes. A snorkle experience also (linch and drinks included again at just £42 an adult)
And if you want one of the most incredible shopping experiences you will ever have you must go to the Old Market (make it an evening visit) As you walk through they try to pull you in to their shops. So be prepared to be stern and say no. But this is where you will get some great bargains if you are prepared to haggle!. If they wont sell for the price you say just walk out they will soon follow you and let you have it at your price!
So yes a great resort with really friendly people set in a great area with a beautiful beach. Choice of 6 restaurants. Not many bars. poor entertainment. But I do recomend the coffee bar oposite reception. Do try the caramel frapeccino its coffee heaven in a glass.
This was my second visit to Sharm but wont go here again sorry...Buts its great for familys with young kids....

Room Tip: A room round the relaxation pool is best as its quiet all the time. Do not get a room that looks ove...

Just got back from a six night break at the Royal Albatros Moderna in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. My husband and I and our two children aged 10 and 12 had a brilliant family holiday together. The hotel has it all; a well managed extremely friendly and helpful staff.
Spotlessly clean (the pools had their filters changed several times a day so was very clean), all areas being washed down at the end of the day.
The Aqua park was fabulous for our kids with many different slides and little or no waiting for your turn. These slides were enjoyed by kids and adults alike. There is also a slides/water play area in the main pool for younger children.
The snorkeling off the jetty was also lovely, seeing loads of different fish, with pretty clear water. The views walking back along the jetty at sunset are to die for with the mountain range going into shadows.
The food was good with lots of choice from half a dozen different outlets.
We struggled to fit in all the activities we wanted to do each day!
Due to the size of the property and variety of pools and other facilities it didn't seem overly crowded despite being fully booked when we were there during the October half term. Never any issues finding sun beds.
The only disappointment was that the tennis court was unplayable, with the surface being mainly sand so balls just didn't bounce.
We will be back for sure.

Room Tip: We had a family room with two large single beds pushed together and a spacious bunk bed which was fi...

Excellent location. Booked through beachcollection.co.uk everything was well managed, transfers etc.
Hotel/resort: Huge, very clean. Pools/slides/water park can't find anything to complain. Heaven for young kids!
October weather-perfect (35-38 degrees C)
Beach/sea- excellent for snorkleing just off the jetty, very safe and large number of beautiful fish all around.
Beach-sand is rough, not powdery sand. Coral/rocks everywhere. Middle of jetty very good lagoon like area, excellent to swim and snorkel.
Spa- dont waste money. Massage/masseues very good well experienced. Buiding inside spa, dated, dirty showers. People booking for spa, staff walking around the hotel, will tell you different prices and if you book at supposedly cheaper prices will ask you not to tell anyone!! I dont know how it is possible.
Restaurants- many of them, excellent for choices all day. Very clean food area. Tagine restaurant our favourite for dinner. Lunch- Italian place, il caminetto, excellent pizzas.
Columbus- coffees/icecreams, we were addicted to coffees by the endof our holiday ! Fantastic-must try Espresso Marechino, you will forget costas/starbucks.
Drinks- my god, alcoholic drinks/cocktails are terrible. Made me feel sick after 2 days of drinking beers/cocktails at dinner times. See suggestion for managers below.
Rooms-very clean, excellent hardwork by our room cleaner/maid El Gabryl Adel.
Glass bottom boat trip- excellent.
Didnt have much time for other excursions, plenty on offer though, must bargain the prices!

I suggest, to remove alcoholic drinks from all inclusive offers, reduce slightly overall price of holiday with all inclusive except alcoholic drinks. Charge for alcohol, give some choices for local as well as premium alcohol drinks, I am sure people will pay if good alcohol is available.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms excellent views and very nice big rooms but they are on 2nd floor, and no lift, so if...
