Hauza Beach Resort
Ranked #31 of 32 Hotels in Nabq Bay
Reviewed June 23, 2009

This was our second time visiting this well organised resort. With such a wonderful atmosphere and a friendly welcoming you really will be amazed at the experiences you can enjoy and be open minded about so many things the hotel can offer you.

Even though we have children, we went to Hauza Beach alone to fulfill the romantic side of a holiday however we have become so in love with the place and staff that we wish to make this the family holiday each year.
From kids club to activities offered daily, Hauza can give you and your type of family the experience you are after. Even though it is classes as a 5 star, it isnt the Ritz or Hilton you would be expecting but you need to open you eyes to what the Egyptions do offer you in return: friendliness, safety, anything you need they get and do for you. They are so willing to please and make your experience life changing and you will leave wanting to return, just like us.

The rooms are of a basic standard but everything you need. Clean and tidy each day with extra special treatment if your birthday, getting engaged, married or even treating your beloved.

The hotel is right on the beach with a fantastic pizza bar to tickle your taste buds. Our favourite place on earth for us to remember for a lifetime.

Happy holidays

Stu and Lu xxx

after 10 days at the hauza beach club i have some points i wish to make regarding the hotel. some are good, some bad and some are shockingly bad. please make sure you read the full review.
good points: the location and the snorkeling are fantastic, 5 minutes away from the airport ( if you are travelling by taxi do not pay more than 60 - 70 egyptian pounds to ge tto the hauza) i made that mistake! the beach area is lovely and the snorkelling is fantastic, however as you walk along the beach you will be greeted by the smell of rotting flesh! which is the camels, they stink! hover you can overlook this as the beach area is very nice and tidy. the pool areas are fantastic and very clean with a range of activities that will keep children (and adults!) entertained all day!
food wise the hotel is ok, i was very impressed with the bakery producing fresh bread, croissants, pastries ect daily. also if your wise enough you will spot that the also make some dishes from fresh infront of you, which certainly appealed to me!
the cleanliness of the eating area leaves a lot to be desired (when you are there sit up near the drinks area and you will understand what i mean!) also the service at times can leave a lot to be desired.
i wouldnt reccomend purchasing trips from the reps as they are slightly more expensive, if you shop around you can get much better deals! also DO NOT take their first price as gospel! always haggle, they will always give in! the diving centre also do some very impressive snorkelling trips (the dive centre is situated near the beach within the resort and it is padi registered)
*one last note about the hotel, and this is where the shocking flaw of the hotel lies. the hotels security is an absolute shambles, on first appearances the hotel looks pretty tight. however one evening as my girlfriend walked back to our room a man (egyptian) followed her and tried to grab her, kiss her and well il not go into details. after makeing several complaints we soon discovered that there was no security from the beach. this meant that anyone could walk into the complex unnoticed and do what ever they feel. the hotel put cameras up after this incident but i am unsure as to whether they have increased security?
so i would definately check this out before you go!
all in all we had a good holiday up until this point.
thanks for reading

After reading many bad reviews i was very worried when entering the Hauza 2 weeks ago! I was imaginig a shabby run down resort BUT to my suprise it was the complete opposite! Reception area nice, Resturant nice & Rooms were lovely! On arrival the hotel staff were lovely and friendly and were very helpful.

Resturant - I found the food fine! although one of my fussy friends often found herself wanting to eat out as she described the food as disgusting whereas i really loved the food. Pesto Pasta at dinner was LOVELY and the pizza's served for lunch along the beach were small but tasty (ask for 2).
You MUST try the indian one night! i really really enjoyed it.

Pools - myself, parner & friends stayed by the jungle pool everyday! Best location in my eyes, as you over look the beach, have slides to go down if you get a tad bored and you get the sea breeze, making sunbathing alot more comfortable. Also the jungle pool, has alot more sunbeds to offer in the morning. We was up at 9:30 every morning to put towels down & there was always empty sunbeds to be seen. The other pool seemed to have NO sunbeds left by 9.

*Drinks served in reception are alot cooler & served in bigger glasses. So go there if you want a nice drink & cool down.
*Book excersions with reps by the pools (wearing red t-shirts) Trips are good and you pay alot less then you would if you book with your tour rep on arrival. They are £20 dearer on some trips.
*Dont pay no more then 50 Eqyptian pounds to get into Narma Bay
*Shops cheaper in Narma bay then hotel shop. So if you go to Narma Bay stock up there on water, sun lotions etc.

75% Russians (I found them very rude, so they give themselves a bad name)
Drinks served in stupid plastic cups during the day!! Thats just wasting money if you ask me!!
3/4* not a 5* BUT you pay for what you get.

I have just returned from the Hauza Beach for the 5th time and I have to say it just gets better and better. After reading the negative comments people have left, I think they have to remember that we are not not used to such warm heat and it takes most people a few days to climatise and that is why people get upset stomachs and don,t feel well. As far as food goes the hotel does pretty well again considering it is Egypt and unfortunately no hotel will be able to cater for everyones needs although I feel the Hauza do try and there is something for everyone. Read my review below which covers most of the hotel and what there is to offer.

FOOD - The hotel offers fresh bread, omelettes and crepes for breakfast there is also a selection of cereals, meats and fruit on offer. The chef will make any omelette of your choice and there is a childrens corner as well were the kids can sit on a small dining chair and table with the parents.
For dinner there is a good selection of chicken and beef along with salads pasta dishes and potatoes and vegetables, vegeterian dishes are also on offer. Along with the above there are a few theme nights were there is an outdoor barbeque this is a great night and the food is excellent. There is a great selection on offer for lunch mostly the same choice as above and for those who prefer snacks there is a great pizza bar at the beach bar which will make you fresh pizzas there and then. They are included in your all inclusive package.

POOL AND BEACH - The Hauza has to be the best hotel for beach location the views are stunning, and for those of you who just want to relax you can do this or join in the activities that the animation run throughout the day. Water arobics and volleyball etc are available and for those of you who enjoy being pampered I would highly recommend the massages. The manager of the massage team is Arafat he speaks very good English and the prices for the massages are very reasonable. The Hauza is also in the process of finishing their sauna and spa suite it should be open in the next few weeks and will just add to the great health facilities already on offer. There is also a diving centre at the hotel and for those of you who haven,t tried scuba diving it is an experience you all have to try and will never forget it is absolutely fantastic and well worth the money, again not expensive. For those of you who want to try quad biking across the desert and boat trips etc, these can be booked through the guys on the beach who are based in the hotel reception.

ROOMS - There are two types of rooms in the Hauza there are the standard rooms and family rooms available and bungalows too. The rooms are quite spacious and the cleaners are in every day. Fresh towels are provided everyday and the rooms is kept very clean. There is room service available to and it can be rang from your room, dry cleaning is available along with food and bag pick up etc. There is also a fridge in your room and I would advise you to put a few bottles of water in there for during the day when you return form the beach as it can get quite warm durning the afternoon. The rooms are fully air conditioned as well which is an added bonus. The Hauza is in the process at the moment of revamping all its rooms, painting etc is done at night and you wouldn,t even know anything is going on, the second phase of the hotel which is opening across the road will also be opened in the next few weeks.

TRIPS AND KIDS FACILITIES- There is a kids club available at the hotel and there is also a small playground at the beach. The zoo which people have referred to as being closed down is in fact re-opening across the road at the new phase of the hotel. There are also kids water slides available and shallow end of the pools etc. The main pool area is the busiest but there are also other pools available if you prefer it a bit quieter. As far as sunbeds are concerned there are quite a few available and you will receive a card when you arrive for clean towels for the beach and pool on a daily basis.

RECEPTION AREA - The reception area will help you with all of your holiday queries you can catch a bus here to Namma Bay on a nightly basis and there is a taxi rank available as well for those of you who prefer to get a taxi. It is manned 24 hrs a day and there will always be someone on hand to help. All of the staff here will go out of their way to help and there is a small bar there as well. There are a few shops at the hotel and also a few across the road from the hotel as well.

I hope you find my review helpful please take my advise and make your own mind up about this hotel as I would highly recommend it again and again. BRILLIANT BRILLIANT BRILLIANT

This resort is listed as a 5* in the brochure when in reality it is more comparable to a basic 3*. The Rep was never available and gave no information regarding health issues. My family all had ear infections from swimming in the seas, which are very common apparently as there is no tidal movement. The doctor was constantly at the hotel because of the number of people with violent upset stomachs. The food was more repetitive than any other resort I have ever been to which became boring very quickly and most people were choosing to eat out after the first few days.
The pool areas were not as clean as they should have been and no life guard was on duty on some of the days. While at the pool we were constantly harassed by touts selling trips, papers etc.
This holiday was supposedly all inclusive but ice creams and snacks were charged for.

The staff at hauza are very friendly and will go out of their way to help you. the pools and beach are stunning, and all great locations to all rooms. The temperature was 40+ big thumbs up. You are given a towel card which each day you use to get a new clean towel for use by the pool or on the beach. Your room is cleaned everyday with fresh clean towels provided (you must put your used towels on the floor in the bathroom if you want them changed), the cleaner was friendly and very trustworthy.
Points to be aware of:
1: You receive one bottle of water each on arrival to your room, after that you will need to refill your bottle at the pool bar (they will only fill it half way so just ask for some cups of water and fill your bottle that way).
2: The food is good to begin with but can become boring if you are there for more than one week (you can order food to the hotel e.g. KFC, chinese). You will also be given a voucher to try the seafood and Indian restaurants. I didn't try the seafood out but I wasn't told good things about it. The Indian is ok but will only suit some people.
3: Don't leave things on show next to the pool, when i was there two people had their ipods stolen.
4: Check your doors and windows are locked in your room before you go out day/night (someones room was also broken into).

The holiday itself was really good, I went with one of my friends and we went for a chilled out holiday, exactly what we got. Day trips are also really good fun and a I would recommend the diving trip. So much fun and you may be lucky like I was and see a whale shark.
We also went to Cairo by bus, its a very long journey and would recommend taking a pillow and a blanket/jumper. Oh and don't forget your camera the pyramids are amazing.
If you do want to book any trips there will be people walking around the pool side, for diving speak to Marco, or Quad biking (such good fun) either Hassan or Haddy. If you want to book trips to Cairo I would suggest going into Naama Bay (about 30mins away by taxi) as you go down the main street there is a excursion shop on the left called ITALY ITALY, very cheap.
Hope you have as good a time as I did.
