This hotel is very shabby. Yes, the staff are cleaning constantly... But you can't exactly clean with a dirty cloth. The beds were very hard, My family and I had countless nights where we just couldn't sleep because of how uncomfortable we were. The food, in my opinion was actually quite good. But the beer, and other soft drinks were absolutely terrible. Beer isn't on draft, so your only option is to have a disgustingly warm beer out of a bottle poured into a glass/plastic cup.

The staff at this hotel were mainly very friendly, We became good friends with the staff at the lobby bar and wish them the very best (Umda, Loee, Zumma and Mohammed the DJ.). We are returning to Sham-el-Sheikh in April but most definitely are not going to return to the Hauza Beach Resort.

This is a truthful review, having stayed in sharm 5 times, we know that their 5 star is probably our 3 star and to be truthful we have stayed in sharm in hotels a lot worse than this. As a family of five, children aged 15 12 and 3, we felt very welcomed on arrival after a ten and a half hour delay, the receptionist who booked us in at 5.40 am, (which should have been 6.30 pm) was very helpful and swift in getting us settled into our rooms, where after half an hour we were all sent a small platter with salad, cheese and bread on. we thought this very thoughtful. Mini bar stocked with water and fruit juice, although this was the only one time our mini bar was stocked on our 14 day stay. Having read bad reviews about the food and knowing from previous experience what the food can be like in sharm hotels, we were delighted to find that the food was actually quite nice.... it was all piping hot even the soup and Alan the Scottish/Italian brand new chef had turned the food around and there was always something lovely to eat for lunch and tea. Breakfast had a lovely egg counter with fresh omelettes cooked to your liking with fresh ingredients of your choice.. big up to chef Allen!!!! Reminded me of Alan off Hangover the movie... pools were fab, although a bit grubby at times, but were cleaned daily and you could get a whiff of chlorine, which in my 5 trips to Egypt was the first time I had smelt it. with 600 and odd people sitting round the pool every day, you are bound to get a bit of rubbish, idiots flicking ciggy stumps etc, but every morning by 8am, the pool was cleaned and the surrounding sun longer area cleaned and swilled. The rooms were a bit old and tired, and we had adjoining rooms with our children, on block 28 which were cleaned daily by Mohamed and Sam. Both of which were really lovely guys, and our children loved them, as they left amazing towel arts on our beds every day. My husband grew especially close to Mohamed, and I swear their was tears between them as we said our goodbyes on our last day, but I really need to praise these guys, they cleaned our rooms and corridors tirelessly every day and were always so happy to see us, and always made a fuss of our baby girl Sadie. People moan about the beach not being sand, but you know what? your in nabq bay on one of the worlds most amazing coral reefs, the beach is absolutely amazing, as have been all the beaches we have been to in Egypt in the last 10 years. The fish that swim upto you in 3 inches of the clear water are unbelievable, as a non swimmer I don't go further, but my husband goes snorkelling and sees something new and amazing every time. If you are able, book with Mickey Moses to go on a quad safari, speed boat and day trip boat (where you go out on the big boat, stop off a few times for a good snorkel round the reefs and have lunch and drinks all inclusive on the trip.) He was another lovely guy we met there. I feel some people just go on holiday to moan on trip advisor, this holiday was all in all a good value holiday for our family of 5. The animation team were on a skeleton staff as half of them had been sent home due to the conflict, so the evening entertainment was a bit scarce, but this wasn't too much of a problem because there was always something on, and there was always a disco on in the amphitheatre later on after the mini disco, to be honest they made a good thing out of a bad situation, because they always played good music.

Room Tip: we had two double rooms with adjoining doors for our teenage children next door. rooms were up a bit...

Loved this holiday, we were a bit anxious after reading previous reviews but found the hotel and staff great. Our rooms were lovely, my husband and I had one and our two daughters had one next door, the rooms were spacious and were cleaned every day with towel creations most days. There weren't enough clothes hangers but we've not been to a hotel yet that has plenty. The pool areas were clean and there were plenty of sunbeds for everyone. The slide pools were lovely with the waterfalls and were great if you wanted a quiet time away from the main pool. The food in the main restaurant was plentiful and the chefs were amazing as we are vegetarian they went out of their way to make us vegetarian meals if there was only meat or fish dishes on that day. Our two waiters who were on duty at the front of the restaurant in front of the pasta area were great and held a table for us at every meal. The animation team tried their best but without funding for props etc for the shows at night they lacked entertainment at times. During the day the animation team were brilliant, entertaining and funny especially Leo, Alice and Danny. My husband and daughters thoroughly enjoyed the snorkelling off the jetty at the edge of the coral reef, there were so many different fish to look at. Overall this holiday was fantastic and we thank the staff at Hauza for making it so enjoyable.

We stayed here in February 2011. This was our 4th visit to Egypt so wanted a different hotel.
The hotel is huge, and is clean, rooms cleaned daily. The complex is really big. We never had to queue for food or drinks.
The beach is fantastic with a shallow stretch for bathing before the coral then the big drop into the sea.
Pizzas are served to AI guests on the beach.
There is no entertainment on an evening, all though if you go of the hotel and turn right, walk for about 20 minutes there is an English Bar on the left hand side called Union Jack, plays English music & serves English food,.
We stayed here whilst the riots in Cairo were happening. The staff were really reassuring and friendly.
Take your own pint plastic beakers for your AI drinks.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the pool, the bar is open till late.

just got back from having a week here,,,, beautiful views, weather, beach and sea,,
hotel is not too bad but in need of some tlc,,, we were originally in a room at the bottom of the end of the resort but I hurt my ankle on the slide in the pool so i was moved to a room by the reception, this was done straight away so the service there was excellent,,,,
as there is only brits there at the mo it seemed that most things were lacking what the hotel advertises,,, pool bar in water not open only of a afternoon for 2 hours when they served vitamin drinks!!!!!,, The all inclusive alcohol left a lot to be desired the vodka tasted like perfume as it is only there own cheap as chips brand most the time the drinks were served cool not cold and you have to ask for ice (the ice is made from filtered water)
The beach bar is great and you can have a pizza freshly made which wasnt too bad, the pool bar started to advertise snacks eg,,chips, hotdogs, burgers which you have to pay for not impressed its all inclusive !!!!
Now i move onto the food well to sum it up awful,,,, every lunch time or evening you knew what it would be and it was never hot unless it was fries,,the salad and cold part was the same and the so called hot section was always macaroni rice veg and either chicken or fish done in different ways throughout the week and always looked undercooked and was served luke warm, the breakfasts were the same old same old eggs done every way possible, the omlettes werent too bad though,,, they did do burgers twice on the lunch throughout the week which were edible,,
the best thing you can eat here is a pizza from the beach bar cooked fresh and warm you can only have cheese and tomato here but its edible and thats a bonus when your starving,,
overall my partner and I had a fantastic week thanks to the weather and the sea and the views,, the rooms arent too bad but dont expect anything amazing and the cleaning does have a lot to be desired,,
if you want to go out to a good brit pub then go to the Union Jack bar the food atmosphere and staff there are top notch,,
There is no way on this planet that this hotel is a 5 star I would give it 3 max,, would i go back no,,, and I would definately not take children there as they would starve,,
its a shame that these things let the hotel down as it could be beautiful,
Also the things that the hotel advertised like the spa and massage didnt open till the end of our holiday as not many people were there they didnt bother and there was no evening entertainment,,, DONT advertise these things if your not going to produce them,,

Rooms basic, clean.air conditiond 24 hrs aday. Pool and beach ideal too relax by, and soak up the sun. Area was kept tidy. Coral reef was stunning, clear warm waters, snorkling is beautiful, clear veiw, best time is mornings as the sun shine on too the reef, as the day goes on, it starts too shade it, but still clear
Food, wasnt great, but found some thing too eat everyday. Indian rest was good, but found at the chinese alot to be desired, avoid the noodles lol, its spagetti.
Bar, there are 3!, one in the lobby ( closes early) pool bar , closes around 5pm for a clean down, takes about , 30-45 mins, other wise open 24 hrs. Finaly the beach bar, basic only open till about 5-6 pm.
Drinks. Pool and beach, only offer soft drinks water, or whisky rum vodka and something like perno, all rather sweet. No cocktails as such.
Staff in the restaraunt bit slow, alot of russian guests, who go ott with the food, pile plates high, with out any concern too leaving anything for others. Like animals some of them. Food is improving, as new chef started ( scotsman ) made some great improvements while we where there.

Right 5 star dosnt mean the same as it dose here in the uk. Their stars are based on what they have for you there. Ie beach pools gym etc, not on how good the food service is. But I would advise too take large plastic cups, pint size, as what they provide is no more than a mouth full , I mean a mouth full lol as the cups are no bigger than a small coffee cup, your beer is half beer half head, slap happy pouring, so to save constant trips up, take your own cups and wash them out each day.
