“Make it work, not so bad”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2012

OK, you have read the below, so i will keep it short and sweet

- The hotel is under staffed and operationally a bit poor, however there are also some fantastic points.
- Remember 5* is more like 3* in Egypt and you will manage your expectations
- Take your own plastic pint glasses for the bars as they have tiny plastic cups
- Expect to queue for meals, plates and drinks and learn to be brazen as you will need to fend off the Russians!
- Staff are helpful, polite and love the British, be nice and they will really look after you
- Location is brilliant, pools, beach, and entertainment are great
-Look out for George and Mohammed in the restaurant they will really look after you and take the stress out of meal times, Saad at the pool bar is also a gem!
- Reception are slow but helpful
- Food in the restaurant is not fab but something there you can eat, Indian restaurant is fantastic, Fish restaurant is grim!
- Any problems will be dealt with swifty
- Clean spacious rooms, good housekeeping, safe and TV in room
- free poolside or beach towels
- Great location to visit Naamah Bay, Soho Square etc

Make the hotel work for you, dont go expecting 5* luxury, go with an open mind and as long as you dont pay over the odds you will be satisfied. The pool is lovely, good sl;ides to amuse the children. Not amazing but not as bad as the revies say, its not quite Fawlty Towers!

we visit same time every year this year however was worst.the hotel we love it pools and beach best about. resturant this year was a joke no plates bowls spoons.and running out of food. over run by greedy ignorant drunk russians who eat everything then take all the food out side in bags. i would advise to get more staff to dish out food as the resturant could not cope we ate out most nights. the staff are great very hard working polite and take a load of abuse. the recption is a waste of time there attitude stinks thanks to guest relations mohamoud, mido and lisa very helpfull reps ali mts rips you off got same trip £120 cheaper in nabq bay.around pool nani is the best to book with nice guy.all in all i enjoyed my holiday will go back next year but please please sort out overcrowded resturant

Well, we arrived at Hauza on 9th October 2012. When going for dinner in the evening of our arrival - we were greeted by a massive queue of pushing, shouting and elbowing Russians.. even queuing for plates we were shoved through the doors into the kitchen - it was like a free for all! Dinner was a bit bland - chicken, rice, potatoes and bread rolls. The next morning we were both woken with AWFUL stomachs from the chicken being under cooked or continuously reheated - this was only day one! When we woke we were able to have a proper look at the room to find a scummy bath with mastic all over the walls looking like it was done by a 5 year old.

Breakfast was another disaster, we opened a 'boiled egg' which was black and green inside and smelt vile. We never returned to breakfast again in the whole 2 weeks that we were there.

Apart from the disgusting mess that they served as food and the room being a tad shabby - we actually had a fantastic time. We did spend quite a lot of money eating out as all of the food was catered for the russians and was not labelled so we never knew what on earth it was - the Union Jack Bar in Nabq saved our holiday on numerous occasions!

For people looking at or going to Hauza I would definately not go all inclusive. The alcohol tasted like drain cleaner and the juice was full of sugar that they had added - you could even see the sugar at the bottom of the tiny plastic cup that they gave you..

Although we did feel like we paid out way too much more than we had to on top of the holiday price, we had an amazing time and just overlooked the flaws. Me and my other half are both under 21 and it was our first holiday alone. A holiday is what you make of it at the end of the day. If you want a cheap relaxing time in the sun then go for it - but if you are looking for decent meals and drinks too then forget it! Some of the refreshments are edible but not many! for the money that we paid for all inclusive it was worth it - but not the extra 400 each that we ended up spending on food and drink outside the hotel!!

The actual hotel is very pretty and has a wonderful pool and beach. The spa is lovely and so are the trips - even with the pyramid divers which the hotel say not to go with!!!!! The boys in the 3 shops by reception and the shops over the road in the other part of the hotel are all fantastic and very hospitable. We spent most of our evenings with them in their perfume shop and had a whale of a time. They are all 'Diamond Geezers' and do not hassle you at all!

like i said all in all i had a great time but it just could have been a bit cheaper on the food side of things!

Room Tip: We had a room near to the beach which was in a very nice location - but it was a massive trek to rec...

Will try to keep this positive so good bits first.
swimming pools are good kids really enjoyed the jungle pools the beach is excellent too the snorkeling off the jetty is amazing ,to have your own coral reef and private beach is pretty special the fish are awesome.

staff are really friendly and try thier best they love the brits the odd tip goes a long way.mohammed at the pool bar/al jazeera restraunt was great a real gentleman.
room was ok loved mohammeds towel creations.

now the bad bits
The food is an absolute disgrace my whole family had the runs for two weeks.hauza leaving present for me was the dreaded pharoas tummy resulting in chronic stomach cramps all the way home on the plane half the journey spent on the toilet and a visit to the doctor on returning home.
i will never forget the smell in that restraunt untill my dying day the hand sanitisers outside were always empty soap in toilets empty i even saw a waiter wipe his brow with a cloth then wipe a table.
no one had a good word to say about the food
the russians are a nightmare rude and greedy my advice dont take any crap off them its all they understand.
there are not enough staff to keep up cleanliness and tables are left full of plates in the restraunt/pool bar
im not fussy but the booze was terrible i have been all inclusive many times before and it has been fine but here the spirits were like paint stripper and the soft drinks undrinkable
All the bars and refrigeration units stink.
if you have booked take plenty of money you wont be able to stick the food and drink for long.
entertainment was shocking during the day all that was on was water aerobics despite there being plenty of staff they walked about doing nothing you would have thought they would have rallied everyone round for a game of water polo or did something for the kids.not much better at night.
such a shame this has the basis of a good hotel however the restaunts and bars require revamping and staff levels increasing this hotel is not up to british standards and if it was in our country the food hygiene officers would close it.
Do not book this hotel you WILL be poorly.
hauza management get a grip if you want any british visitors.
i have been three star all inclusive in spain many times and it has been night and day compared to this!

Our sickness has resulted in a doctors visit, we are perusing this via our solicitor and would welcome any support from our fellow travellers, please email natalieemr2@rocketmail.com.

We are not usually people who complain, but after our experiance at the Hauza Beach Resort "Hell HOLE" we would not want anyone else to go through the same experiance or waste there money on this, and i do not think i am dramatising in any way. People have commented that you get what you pay for, well i would not pay for a pig to live in this hotel. How this hotel has been rated as "excellent" is beyond me, and surely these people have never sayed in a five star all inclusive resort before!

I booked this holiday through On The Beach, whos Rep advised this is NOT A FIVE STAR hotel and this has been rated by the hotel themselves and not even rated by an English Agent!

This hotel is NOT a five star i would give it TWO STAR at the most! From day one we had problems with the staff who were mainly unhelpful at reception, even asking for the code to our safe took two days for anyone to give to us, eventually someone had to come to our room to give us the code. Everything seemed a constant struggle, which seemed like a normal question such as the code for the wi-fi seemed to take hours for anyone to work out.

Take your own cups or you will be drinking out of a shot glass all week, although the small glass is probably to save you from thw awful taste of the drinks avalible. Beer is not avalible all day as needs to be chilled and the main pooll bar is closed the main times of the day and often we would need to go to the bar in the reception before dinner to get any drinks.

The resturant is SHOCKING, not only did it smell like mould but the food is unedable. Myself and my partner are not fussy eaters and eat pretty much everything but the basic choice of rice, potatoe chicken and fish. There is no choice for children here, i see alot of unhappy children and angry paretns and often see staff members arguing with guests in the resturant. To top if off on the first day we arrived we see pints of milk split on the floor which was moped up by about 10 workkers with sticks with a tshirt wrapped round the end and pushed into the kitchen, and the smell stuck around all week. The Russians are the most rude arrongant people you could meet and push in all the time, as well as being rude to staff they are to guests and are usualy drunk before 11am! We got to the resturant at 7:30pm and spent about half an hour looking for an empty table!

This hotel must be awful as the staff there even said themselevs they are 12 people short and that they want to leave and cant stand it there anymore. I did feel sorry for the staff as they were always run off their feet, especially in the Aljezeria resturant where we ate one night.... and ended up on the toilet the rest of the holiday after that!

The general grounds of the hotel are unsafe, as we qued at the pool bar men where building a wall next to us and throwing boulders down to where we were standing. Live cables were around the hotel. The stairs are rocky and uneven and not safe for anyone let alone children and the eldery! The hotel grounds also stank! To a point where i felt sick because the smell was so strong. Just outside the grounds of the hotel (or sometimes in) there are bin bags everywhere old water bottles and glasses. There are flies EVERYWHERE and it feels werid now being at home not having to be wiping a fly away from me every 2 seconds.

The staff at the hotel who sell their trips will not stop pestering you all week and some completly dishonest (Nani who sells the quad bike ) and once they have your money they will leave you alone. Do not say you are english or they will be pestering you all the time as they know that english people take spending money and the tight russians dont! We both had a massage in the spa which was really good... probably one of the few good things i can think of!

Even when i went off the resort i did not feel safe, the staff at the hotel even told us horror stories of other guests, such as a family being locked into a shop in Nama Bay!

The good points about this hotel are the pool and the beach, we did get some snorkels so spent alot of time in the sea rather than in the resort!!! Also visit the guy who sells the sand in glass bottles near the resturant he is really friendly and helpful, and not forcing you to buy something! Mr Erik''s over the road has only been open a couple of weeks and run by a Belgium couple who are also friendly and helpful and the chips saved the week!!!

I really hope this review does put you off staying at this hotel, i do not think i usually complain and i am not a fussy person but this week was beyond a joke and if you are expecting five star quality you will be very disappointed... all i can say is i am glad to be back home and will NEVER go back to that hotel, and to be honest a while before i think of a holiday to Egypt again!

Just returned from a 10 night stay at Hauza, 2nd time in sharm, a review comimg from a 22 age group couple.

First off I would like to be 100% honest! Some of the reviews on this hotel are ridiculous please if your going go with an open mind!!!

FIRST IMPRESSION We arrived late evening and were automatically offered an upgrade, thanks :) lovely reception staff, the resort is huuuuge. We were met by r rep the following morning who informed us all water was safe in the hotel so you can infact eat salads, washed items.

FOOD Breakfast is ok baring in mind they cater for all, fresh omlettes, pancakes. Can I just mention Mohammed the BFG Of Hauza who looked after us so well ever day! Serving us drinks, nothings a problem. The food for dinner was also fine, not to repetetive at all, some days burger an chips! Other days meats, rices, and also a spaghetti section. Evening meals were also good bbq on everynight making beef rolls, chicken, beef, delicious. we got a free meal to the indian restaurant on sight, dont go, horrid set meal, h
mosqitoes everywhere, made my other half ill for 3days

ROOMS The rooms were spacioius and cleaned everyday, although we didnt tend to spend much time there at all. Iould only comment.on the bathroom, dangerous open cieling, worn out bath, could do with a lick of paint. Huge new flatscreen tv, perfect. U have to pay $2a day for safe, but its worth it. Loads of storage.

POOLS AND.BEACH amazing pool, well cleaned, not that deep! Rock pools.also nice but a big groggy, could.do with new tiling on loors.and also clean the jracuzzi ot woul be a lovely attraction under the waterfall
the beach is fab, the water has shallow coral so u can experience the tropical fish right at your feet! Also adeep end to see bigger fish (no thanks)the beach bar is ok staff a bit groggy but they do nice fresh pizzas there, for dinner, tomato peppers and onions.Pool bat also fine, cold.drinks.on tap, beer always.full never seen the fridge.empty.

EXCURSIONS HASSLES ATTRACTIONS WILL get hassled at the pool, beach
. Everywhere possible.
We took our excusrsions with oir rep what we deemed to be safe they arent safe. U just needto brush them off, theyll soon get the Hint
Nabq bay is.about 20mim ride from naama bay costing 50 egyptian pound at receptions taxi service
. Ifits your firstime i would reccomend pacha
, Hard rock cage for food.and a.good time, the bus stop bar well both ofthem, also tgiffridays nabq bay for fpod.yumyum. bar one for imported spirits
. Also soho square for a.touch of elegance, lovely place and 5 mins down the road dowm nabq bay loads of stuff to see and do.

Please keep an open mind about this hotel

Its lovely, better than some weve stayed in! You wont get better for the price, and also the Germans arent bad at all
. No problem when we were there at all, quite delightful, and animation team work hard! Well done.guys thanks for a.lovely stay,!

Ok so i never write reviews so this in itself should explain that this hotel is BAD! There are a few of good points which i will start off with....Pool & Sunbeds & Beach...(i told you there where a few!) Pool was clean and sunbeds comfortable! Beach is a big and has a good strech along Nabq Bay...

Now..BAD points...

FOOD & DRINK was terrible they serious only cater for the Russians which this hotel is over run by who are rude and think they can just push in anywhere they want too...Read more about resturant below! Drinks are awful Vodka, Whisky, Rum, Brandy couldnt tell you what was what they just all tasted like what i would imgine paint stripper would taste like! 'Coke' is 'Rola-Cola'

PLASTIC CUPS seriously thought people where joking when they decided to comment on the tiny plastic cups...but all the comments about them are true

ROOMS where OK...need major update, aircon falling from ceiling practically and sounds like an airplane is taking off which is not good if you want a good nights sleep!! I cant complain about the actual cleaner as he was very polite and help me out when we were locked out of our room for 5 hours! but sheets not clean...there was a green blanket on our bed with hard white stain on!! make your on asumptions!!!

GROUNDS could be so lovely the actual space and location this hotel has could mean this could be a great hotel (which i am sure it once was...) BUT large parts of the hotel which are not visable at first sight are not looked after at all we where there a week and we had two manky carboard boxes outside our block of rooms there all week! along with about 15 black bags with god knows what in them and towards the end of the week lets just say they started to hum and make you feel sick when walking past! I would actually say there is is a genral 'nasty' smell around the hotel this includes the resturant (or zoo i like to call it!) which the hotel must know about as they try and cover it up with insence sticks!!!

I could go on but it would go on and on...I have stayed in other hotels in Sharm...the first two times where more pricey holidays, but i would recommend the GRAND SHARM PLAZA for a little bit more it is SOOOO much better then The Hauza and it is along the same strech!

Hope this helps!
