we stayed at hotel from 11th July for one week. WE were a family 2 adults 3 children 3 yrs 9yrs and 13yrs. water park great for all. Had family suite with 2 bedrooms. Lovely accommodation with lots of space for all to chill out. You ha two balconies which is great, ground floor made it better for kids to play in grounds. Aware all the Egyptian men like young blond girls and are very forward with them. Staff could be moody but you do not need to tip if don't want to. Heat was manageable due to breeze. Air con in rooms help when want a break. entertainment was average and catered not for English but 24hr bar helps to get in party mood. internet in reception only allows 15 people on at a time. Do not pay more than 10 pounds from air port as we got stung for 20 and paid 8 from hotel to airport. make sure you tell taxi terminal 2 as we had a long walk when dropped to wrong terminal. take advantage of free bus to sister hotel at sea front. Lots of coral so water shoes help. Free bus to Nam Bay but stall owners do your head in. If you smoke, brought Benson and Hedges fags original fags £13.50 maybe could have got cheaper but had daughter with me and they were all harassing her. Brought converse £8 T shirts Fred Perry £5 and others, ice watch £3. you do need to barter but I am not that good. Don't buy fags at airport wait until go shopping. Great holiday but if had pot of money would try another country. Oh and if not liking food main chief will make steak and chicken nuggets for kids if ask. I did find something to eat every day. Chips and pizza nice at aqua bar and kids loved hot chocolate. If you don't like food can order Mac Donalds to be delivered to hotel.

Just came bk from a 2wk stay at this fabulous friendly resort, it's our 3rd visit to Egypt, 2nd at this hotel. The coral sea staff in the restaurant and at the pool cannot do enough for you, as far as to say nothing is too much trouble for them.
Since our last visit there unfortunately Thomson's as now taken over until the winter months, for our first week the entertainment was very poor, a lot of guests complained us included, I have to admit that the 2nd week was better, Thomson's really upped it, with a lot better class of acts (except the belly dancer). Anyone going to the hotel for the first time will not be disappointed, We would thank like Carolin from guest relations, jamal and Ahmed in the restaurant, and a big thank-you to Housam at the pool who works very very hard day and nite x

Myself and 3other girls went to Sharm el Sheikh on the 22nd-28th april 2013 for a week. Age ranging from 18-28 We booked our hotel , Coral sea splash resort as it was known now known as coral sea aqua club resort, and flights with Thompson/Thomas cook. Flights and transfer no problem, 20mins -half hour away from the airport.

On arrival we were worried about dinner being served as we arrived rather late however we were told to eat and then sort our room details. Unfortunately on the way back they wouldn’t open the restaurant 15mins earlier for us to eat before we left.

Food- We were surprised with the food, as vegetarians this tends to be a problem abroad however there was a very good selection of food which we found to be quite healthy as well- not just chips all week!! The deserts and breakfasts were repeated, however due to the large selection we never got bored. We tended to have lunch at the outside bar, where snacks were served, such as fresh pizza’s and toasted sandwiches. We were given vouchers to use at the 2 al a carte restaurants, American and Asian. Both were ok, small portions and we were made to feel a bit greedy when we ordered more.

Rooms- We were allocated on the 1st floor near the pool. On first impressions room is very spacious, good sized bathroom, great view. Beds are ok, personally found them and the pillows a bit hard but each to their own. The only real problems we had were with the lighting. 4 girls getting ready in the evening with poor lighting wasn’t ideal . Also the curtains have a big gap in between so I would recommend taking something to clip them together or be prepared to be woken up by the sun shining through in the morning. We didn’t get any art created on the bed but rooms were cleaned daily.

Sunbeds- A lot of reviews mention a sunbed problem, we did go down about 8 oclock in the mornings to place our towels there as we wanted 4 together, however there were quite a few left later in the morning. The boys giving out the towels did help us find beds at no cost as some other reviews have suggested. We were served drinks at the sunbeds ( we went all inclusive ) again didn’t find we had to tip as previous reviews have suggested.

Hotel facilities- The hotel has many pools, a lazy pool, wave pool and slides so would definitely recommend having a good walk around on the first day so you don’t miss anything. We enjoyed using all the facilities and slides. The spa people do come around and sell their services, we didn’t feel pressured into it and booked a massage, which allowed us to use the stream/sauna for free during our stay. We had mixed reviews on the massage, but I would recommend bargaining for it. We didn’t stay in in the evenings for long but from what we did the entertainment seemed ok. Can’t really comment on it. We tipped when we felt we received a good service. The staff work very long hours. The option of booking water sports from the hotel was available and we found the main guy for this known as X to be extremely helpful and a really nice guy. We weren’t sure about what to do and he spent a lot of time with us explaining each option  . The beach is located a 10minute walk away across the road, the hotel isn’t on the beach as some reviews show. You are allowed to use selected beds for free on the beach, however the all inclusive doesn’t continue there. If you’re walking in the water wear the water shoes!! The only thing we didn’t like was our cases being left outside on arrival and departure, after having a word ours were locked away although we had to tip. Better than being left unattended all day. Late check out was ridiculously priced so we used the communal showers instead.

Staff- we found all staff, apart from a selected few, to be very friendly, approachable and can have a good laugh with them. A big thank you to all the staff there.

Evenings- the sheisha is cheap and good in the hotel, would defiantly recommend it in the hotel as it is pricier outside. Wouldn’t recommend turning right out of the hotel at night especially as an all-girl group. If you turn left and there is a TGI, McDonalds’, Hardrock café (turns into a club at night), Starbucks, and many shops to buy souvenirs etc from. We found the pharmacy on the right hand wasn’t always open however if you turn left there’s one open until late. We ventured to Naama Bay a half hour drive away, where there were more shops, sheisha bars and clubs such as pasha and little budda being the ones we visited. We found entry to be a little expensive, even after bargaining and it wasn’t really our cup of tea. We asked about R n B music were told it was on that night, only to find it was house music all night. Right of the hotel is bar one where you can get free wifi when you buy a drink or opposite the road St Georges bar –cheaper than the hotel wifi. We visited soho square booked through our tour guide- personaly wouldn’t recommend it and if you want to go I think it is cheaper to go by yourself in taxi. There’s a bowling alley, ice bar- rubbish, places to eat, a water fountain- not that good and entertainment- again not our cup of tea.

Be aware- of perfume shops, we were dead certain we wouldn’t enter one, however we ended up entering and felt rather intimidated and brought perfumes so we could leave the shop- wasn’t pleasant. Generally as a group of girls we were consistently approached however a friendly no, not interested, no thanks and a smile was all we needed. The friendlier you are the nicer they are. We got very good bargains by being friendly ;). When buying anything state a price much much cheaper at least 50-70% cheaper they’ll work the price up but it’s still a bargain. Don’t pose with the camals unless you’re prepared to give a tip. And beware of the ‘free gifts’. Especially from the street kids in naama bay. Keep loose change for airport on the way back, we unfortunately didn’t and had to literally snatch our own cases out of the hands of ‘helpers’ handling our baggage from the coach as they wouldn’t release our luggage until we gave them a tip.

Bargain for cabs- cheaper outside of the hotel and generally safe, we were told to use the blue and white cabs. Only agree on a return ride if you’re going to stick to it as we heard a few people had trouble with this.

Things to do- we thoroughly enjoyed snorkelling, Naama bay, the beach is nice, the shops around the hotel, and if your after bargains visit the old market! Beautiful place where you can grab some food, and bargains. Open until late allow yourself time there.
Lots of sun cream and a good camera defiantly recommended 

Room Tip: Rooms near the pool, 1st floor, are central good location, close to the pool, 5mins walk to the main...

Just returned from a weeks holiday. Although we had numerous problems with our room Carolin from Guest Relations was really patient and sorted it all out. Thanks Carolin. Nayla the Thomsons rep, is management material she was always cheerful helped sort the room with Carolin I can see Nayla going a long way with Thomsons we wish her luck. Mo from Thomsons was full of information and really interesting to talk to.Meli Mouse from the entertainment team was cheerful and chatty. We went on two trips both were great fun and we thoroughly enjoyed. We used the hotel taxi to go to Soho Square. The driver dropped outside and arranged to meet us at a set time he was there waiting for us and didn't ask for payment until we were safely back at the Hotel . Beyawy our cleaner was brilliant the towel art we looked forward to each day. He meet us with a smile we tried to leave him a smiley face made out of towels not half as good as his. On a negative note, we could have done without the constant attention from the spa staff. Also it would have been nice to have amore diet drinks especially for my daughter who is diabetic and could only drink the diet coke. We went to the supermarket and bought diet 7up. Breakfast she could only drink water Nayla did sort it out but we felt we were made to feel by the resturant shouldn't be asking for it at breakfast everyday. We would visit this hotel again.

My husband and myself Just came back from coral sea hotel. We booked this because it is ranked top hotel in this area. Mmmmmm. It is quite a small hotel and does not have its own beach but you can use the sister hotels beach over the road ( for a charge.) I did email the hotel stating that I had mobility problems and asking for a room on the ground floor near the pool. I was given a room on the second floor on the higher tier, furthest away from the pool! The room itself was big, modern and very clean, the air con was lovely but it was tricky to set. The staff are lovely and we never felt pressured for tips. Food was okay but we both ended up with diahorrea and still have it at home. The entrance and foyer to the hotel are quite underwhelming, I was expecting a lot grander as the other hotels we have stayed in in sharm are lovely. The entertainment team, bless them, did try but never really mustered up enough enthusiasm, it felt like they were just going through the motions. The water park was great for youngsters and the children's pool was an absolute delight. The lazy river was very relaxing but it was quite shabby. We did go out of the hotel one night but returned after 20 minutes, too much hassle. Hence why we only spent £13 ( on tips). Nighttime entertainment was poor, however this is quite usual in sharm. In bed by ten most nights. Mostly English people but the hotel wasn't full so no crowds or queues for anything.
Overall this was a lovely hotel with lovely staff which is great if you have children. Ideal if you want a lazy holiday.

Oh dear Thomsons. If it aint broke............... we stayed here in April this year, loved it so much we went back in July. Its difficult to know where to start, I couldn't believe we were in the same place until I seen a few familiar faces. There are so many signs up telling you what you can't do now, telling you the floor beside the pool may be slippy when wet! Really? Ok the Egyptian staff as before are amazing, they cannot do enough for you and work tirelessly, the temp got up to 47 degrees celcius, it was hard enough to sit by the pool in that never mind work, so well done and thank you so much to all the hotel staff :) the thomsons kids club is a thomsons kids club, sign here, bye bye, and the staff seemed very friendly and our girl enjoyed it when she attended. Now then, this is where in my opinion it nosedives! there are 3 reps who 'work' the resort during the day and at night under the guise of 'entertainment' dizzy danny, mealy mouse and cha cha chels. They have got to be the most stand offish, unnapproachable, uncharismatic non personable 'reps' i have ever had the misfortune of being holed up with for a fortnight. Poolside 'entertainment' is supposed to start at 11 am daily, (if they could be bothered) with a triple cringeworthy TFM radio show which was awful. Frequently the equipment failed and they were totally inept in how to get things back on track, there seemed to be no 'what if plan'? i was so embarrassed for them they were totally lost, i dont know what they did in there interview to get the job but it must have been good!? cha cha chels done the kids 'entertainment' at night and she is a brilliant, brilliant dancer, but she aint no singer, that was awful but not as bad as mealy mouse and dont get me started on dizzy danny. who, behind a desk perhaps dreams up this 'entertainment' itenary, it sucks. before i go i want to tell you i saw at least 5 female thomsons staff at this hotel who are clinically obese. its repulsive and disgusting and i don't want to see them almost have a heart attack on stage and then wait for 3 minutes before any of them have recovered enough to say anything in the mic. awful awful awful, what message are you sending to our kids Thomsons? we won't be back :(

Room Tip: Room 5107 is perfectly situated for 2 or 3 people
