Great impression when we first arrived at the Cleopatra, beautiful lobby, big smiles & nice and cool.
Upon arrival we got one better than a towel and juice, we were whizzed straight to the market restaurant before it closed for the evening..much appreciated thank you.
After a little guided tour by 'Nigel Mansell' in the golf buggy we made it to our room.
A room upgrade was most welcome and we spent the duration of our holiday (15-29th Sept) in the very peaceful Cluster 6 (Rm6205 - in our opinion it's the best room in the hotel) with its beautiful view of the infinity pool, sea & Tiran Island.
Our room was cleaned & a fresh bottle of water was left daily by the friendly Mohammed who's towel art was fantastic...our only complaint of the rooms is that there are no baths in this hotel.
We wouldn't have wanted a room anywhere else - we felt it was perfect and away from the noisier section of the hotel.

We were advised at our welcome meeting to avoid going in the sun for an hour after eating milk and eggs and try to avoid immediate exposure to air con when entering your room-it is best to open your balcony door for 10 mins to adjust gradually-THIS IS VERY SOUND ADVICE.
Egyptian tummy did hit but only a mild dose, unfortunately some were not so lucky and needed assistance from the on-site Dr.

FOOD: there was plenty and it was evident that the Chef's worked very hard however we were slightly disappointed with the selection. Some nights we had to stick to the safe options of rice, pasta and breads. Fellini's restaurant was very enjoyable indeed however it would be nicer for this not to have a walkway to the shops through the outside area, we didn't try the fish restaurant but it's setting is beautiful.
The drinks are a bit too sickly sweet and needed watering down but food is such a personal choice so don't let it put you off.
We used the beach bar most lunchtimes for a snack lunch, the pizzas & fajitas were particularly tasty.

ENTERTAINMENT: truly awful, the team worked very hard in trying to conjure up some interest from the few guests (under occupancy) but the content of such 'entertainment' really left a lot to be desired. We questioned whether the hotel really needs it night after night.
The themed nights where seperate acts came ie 'The Egyptian night' and 'violinist' were much more suited. Some background music or an area away from the restaurants would have been better.
(One evening we had a nice romantic meal at Fellini's but this ended bang on 9.30pm when the 'entertainment' began)

POOLS: All beautiful, a few tiles missing here or there but the gem was the infinity pool away from the main section and overlooking the sea.
We spent most of our time here.
Everyone was chatty & friendly & we made some great friends but the jewel's in the crown were Mido and Sayed....these boys are absolutely brilliant. Mido ensured all was well with our sunbeds and umbrellas and Sayed supplied us with our drinks and 'feet tickles' throughout the day. They are an absolute credit to the hotel and I hope that the management pass on such positive comments to the boys !!
From the pool you can wander down to the pier and have a snorkel or take a more gentle look in the little cove in front of the fish restaurant. There is an abundance of marine life to see and although the waves are a little choppy off the pier, the lifeguard is there to keep you safe.

BARS: we used the lobby bar each evening and sat on the balcony overlooking the grounds. The only problem is that you are subjected to hearing the 'entertainment' but once chatting and cocktailing you soon forget.

STAFF: every member of staff at the Cleopatra are lovely. Not one person walked past without saying "hello", "how are you", "have a nice stay" & they could not have done more to help....a lovely touch.

There a few little shops on site (a little expensive) but if you want a bit more then there a few outside across the road too.

We felt the grounds would have benefited from some flowers in the borders especially surrounding the large grass area at the entrance as they appear a little tatty.

We were very fortunate in that our 2 week holiday was during the quiet period due to the unrest in Cairo and other than 3 groups, everyone else was British-all very civilised !!
We would definately recommend the Cleopatra and would love to stay here again.
The location is beautiful and the staff are to be commended.

Thankyou for a wonderful holiday Cleopatra

We have just returned from our 2 week hols in The Cleopatra, Im going to give an honest review as I think there are a few things that need addressing....

Arrival... we arrived to some very welcome hot face cloths and a welcome drink, we were upgraded but this seems to be the norm as its so quiet unfortunatly. Our room was beautiful, we were in block 8, which overlooked the noisy pool, theres a pool party on a thurs eve which can be very loud music, so ask for a quieter room if you would rather not have this. The room its self is a lovely room, huge bed, great shower, and our cleaner was amazing and kept us entertained with some amazing towel art :)

Food... The Market restaurant was full of different foods, I mainly would be eating as a veggie, as im not crazy about meat with bones, but if you love meat you will adore the quail and veal and also some amazing crab. Breakfast is yummy, with omlettes freshly made and more cakes than you can even imagine!! Our waiter Sami was a lovely fella, always had a big smile and a laugh for me :)
Lunch in the Beach bar was delicious, the pizzas were lovely, and Ahmed was such a lovely man, always with a big smile, and looked after us very well.

Pools and beach....... Oh where to start.... Love love loved the Infinity pool, you could relax in peace, the activity pool could be a little loud with michael jackson music! Mido looked after us so well, always had a smile and a laugh, and he makes the pool area a fab place to be, he certainly should be given a commendation for the hard work he does. You are also spoilt rotten with drinks by Sayeed, who always remembered what you would like to drink and always had a cheeky smile on his face, a huge asset to the clepoatra!
The beach itself will blow your mind with the snorkelling, we booked a trip to tiran island and to be honest we could have not worried going and just snorkelled from the jetty as we saw so many beautiful fish, and you feel very safe.

The spa treatment was nice, I had a facial and my partner had a shave, Mustafa was very helpful, but my only issue was the lady who offered the massage kept hassling a few of us ladies around the pool and kept massaging us by the poolside when we did not want to be touched so I think No meaning No needs to really be listened to, as this became annoying.

Nightlife.... oh dear! Im not quite sure where to begin.. firstly I would like to say that I felt so sorry for the animation team as they had so few guests to entertain but please oh please I do not want to pay £4 to play bingo!!! The cobra show was awful, as they stitch the cobras mouth shut :( but all in all they tried their hardest and were always happy and smiling, especially chicken legs lol

Now for my niggles.... We had a couple of things that really put a dampner on things, we were charged £10 for 4 fresh juices on the first 2 mornings, we didnt know at the time that we had to pay for these as we wouldnt have bothered, there were offered to us as if they were complimentary and then when we went to discuss this with the management we were quite rudely told, you signed for them, its in the paperwork in your room so you have to pay! i didnt mind paying but a little goodwill guesture would have been great here, as we had already had an issue with paying cash to use the hotel computer for the internet then it was charged to our room!! Just a couple of things to watch out for.
now checking out..... this is where more structure is needed, many guests were told many different things, we were told we could keep our room til 1.30pm and our bands til 2.30pm but the manager 3 times, but then when it came to checking out we were told no you only have it til 12, even though the manager had changed it on the computer days previously, I think for extra service just let the guests have their bands til they leave, theres no need to charge the 5 euro per band, most guest dont arrive til the evening so most of their day has gone already, it certainly would be a boost for ratings I personally think for the hotel.
The shuttle bus to Naama Bay was great for £10 return for the two of us, we used it a few times, but have to say one time we were hassled as soon as we got off the bus but a shop owner who clearly was messaged by the bus driver, as they spoke to each other and the shop owner kept telling us he sorts out our return trip to the hotel as if he was part of the hotels service, this is certainly not the case, so just be careful of that!
over all we had an amazing time, but to be 100% honest its the staff in the pool, bars and restaurants, and also the cleaners and garderners that make the cleopatra the amazing place it is, reception can be very off sometimes especially when my partner had his phone stolen they really were not interested and didnt even know where the nearest police station was, which i found really strange, it was down by the coral sea resort, but reception had to ask to find out. :(
We are planning to come back to sharm with our family in the end of may/June and we may consider coming back to the cleopatra as we did have a great time, plus I will miss Mido, Sami and Ahmed otherwise hahahaha!!!

Room Tip: If you would like a quieter room block 6 is great, we were in block 8, which has a beautiful view of the pool and sea :)

Dear reviewer ,

Sunny Greeting from Sharm El Sheikh ,

We would like to thank you to taking time to write your summery and feedback via TripAdvisor.
We will pass your nice comments to our team members and regarding for issue fresh juice, upon your arrival you got information that fresh juice is chargeable not include in your all inclusive package, there was sign in the fresh juice table that extra charge and finally when you got drink you signed the check with amount of fresh juice.

As for the internet issue you have been told also from reception using internet café cost 30 L.E for half hour and you agreed and paid.

In general we have free WIFI at lobby area and free internet with cable in guest room “your room” , but in your situation you didn’t have reader WIFI or cable internet in the room, and you paid this amount .

For lat check out you have been informed by reception you can keep your room till 02:00 pm for free but you refused and you asked to keep only the armband for 02:00 pm .

Thank you for your recommendation and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
all the best.

We stayed at this hotel for a week all inclusive, in Late September. First time in Egypt and we were a bit worried about the situation there, but what a fab place it is the soon as you arrive. Hotel rooms are very good / large with many standard facilities you will ever need, like Air Conditioning, Coffee & Tea making, Mini Fridge, Ironing board etc. Large Balcony and king size bed with comfortable duvet set to make you feel relaxed and warm in a cold room at nights.

Hotel restaurants and food was great, with huge selection of fresh hot food and bread. The patisserie selections were out of this world with many different cakes and sweets. Breakfast bar also was very good and staff were accommodating when you wanted an omelette or something to your own taste.

The staff couldn’t more for you and a special big thanks to “Seyed” at the Infinity pool area, whom was such a happy soul and friendly person at all times, constantly bringing drinks to guests around the pool. Sorry didn’t get a chance to leave a tip for him at the end of holiday as we meant to do, due to rush getting back on the bus and him not being around. Next time we will.

The evening’s entertainment was good mostly but perhaps it was a shame the price for cards to joining in the Bingo night was rather very high at £4 per each section of the ticket, so we were left debating to join or not!!!

All in all the hotel, Pools, restaurants, food and the sea were fabulous and we can’t wait to return early next year for a cheeky holiday in January.

After a long flight from Newcastle I could have not imagined what Luxury was awaiting us upon our arrival at the Cleopatra Hotel. From start to finish I have never experienced such superb customer service in any hotel in the world! Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and escorted to our room in the main block with a view of Tiran Island and the warm Red Sea. I will break each aspect of the hotel into zones for ease of review.

Pools:

3 Large free form pools each having their own dedicated team of staff. The quiet pool towards the front of the hotel was clean and very laid back with ample beds and hammocks to enjoy at your leisure. The second lively pool was were the entertainment team rand daily fun and games as was our pool of choice as it had a very good swim up bar area. The third was the infinity pool with a breath taking view that I cannot sum up in words.

Room:

Fresh, clean and modern the bathroom was immense with an excellent rainfall shower. Our only disappointment was not being upgraded upon arrival as so many others had been but this was only a minor niggle and we were more than impressed with the room we had ultimately paid for.

Hotel Bars and Nightclub:

All bars had excellent staff and not one unhappy face to greet you as we have found in other hotels in Sharm. The pool swim up bar was excellent and you did not have to move as the staff knew what drink you liked and brought your choice to you at your sunbed all day! The beach bar was great and very similar service. The main lobby bar was just as attentive and you didn't ever have an empty glass. The Night club was brilliant and very trendy with and awesome DJ!

Hotel Grounds:

Perfect and very well kept giving you a very attractive setting to enjoy your holiday.

Entertainment team:

Tried their very hardest however very difficult as the hotel was very quiet and it was often difficult to create a sense of fun. However at no time did the team become over bearing or desperate to try and get you to join in which is a credit to the Hotel.

Stand out staff:

Mohamed from the Phili Phili pub/nightclub and Ahmed who returned home to his new wife during our stay both provided a great sense of fun and interest in our well being and again are a credit to the hotel.

Beach:

Amazing area to snorkel and relax in the very warm Red Sea and very safe.

Overall:

A superb stay and easily the best hotel we have ever stayed in the resort of Sharm El Shiekh and are looking to return in September 2014. The hotel should be very proud of everything they did to ensure an excellent, safe and enjoyable stay! I truly wish the hotel the very best in these troubling times for Egypt and assure any potential guest that Sharm remains open for business and The Cleopatra Resort will deliver an amazing holiday!

We spent a 10 night holiday at the Cleopatra luxury resort arriving on the 21st September. We had read quite a few reviews before going away as well as watched the news on the situation in Cairo and I can say that we have never felt safer as we did during our stay in Sharm El Sheik.

The one word I would use to describe our stay at the Cleopatra is fantastic, from the moment we arrived at the front desk where we were met with a refreshing cold drink and cold towel we were so impressed just by the stunning front lobby.

The front of house staff at reception and the girls at the customer services desk were fantastic throughout our whole stay always asking if we were ok and if everything met our expectations and if they could do any more to make our stay better.

Our room was upgraded on our arrival and was perfect, it was spotless and very spacious with a balcony over looking the pool and a great sea-view. The cleaner was fantastic and always very friendly when we saw him and the different animals he made from the towels every other day were really great to look at after we arrived back from a long hard day of sunbathing around the infinity pool.

The pool staff were brilliant and would make sure we had everything we required for our stay around the infinity pool and also the waiters who brought you whatever drinks you wanted during the day. We ate at the beech bar everyday and can say the food and service were first class everyday.

We ate breakfast and dinner in the market place everyday and all I can say is that the waiters and chefs could not do more for you from getting us drinks with our meals to the chef's being on hand to tell us what was in the different dishes as my partner suffers from an allergy to citrus and on a couple of occasions the chef's even cooked something separate when one of the dishes my partner wanted had lemon in it.

The animation staff were great and as the hotel was quiet they had their work cut out for them to keep people entertained but they really worked hard and had plenty of time for everyone during the day and in the evening. The two shows that stood out for us was the Oriental night and the dance show that they put on down at the beach bar.

In the evening after diner we would go up to the lobby bar and sit on the balcony and made use of the wifi and have a few drinks, the Lobby bar staff were great and nothing was too much trouble for them. We would then head down to the Pilli Pilli bar and the bar staff they were brilliant always smiling and giving you a really warm welcome especially Ahmed.

We took the opportunity during our stay to take advantage of the treatments on offer from the beech side spa area and they are good value for money.

My partner became ill during our stay and she had to use the services of the on site doctor and he was great with sorting her out with the required treatment to clear up her upset stomach very quickly and also even speaking with our insurance company back in England on his own phone.
When the staff at the hotel from the pool guys, waiters and front of house staff found out my partner was unwell they could not have done anymore to make her feel better making sure she had everything she needed from drinks to cooking any special requests of food that she wanted even going as far as calling our room everyday of her illness to find out how she was feeling and if she wanted any food brought to our room.

To round up we can both say that every member of staff at the hotel made our stay perfect with their smiles, kindness and their willingness to ensure we had everything in place for our holiday to be as special as it was.

There maybe some unrest in Cairo but all I can say is that people should go and stay at this hotel and it is my opinion one of the best hotels that I have ever stayed at and would go back at our earliest opportunity.

To all the staff at the Cleopatra we would like to say a massive thank you for making our holiday so special.
