Reviewed February 24, 2013

This was our first visit to this hotel and we do'nt regret it! We booked (and payed!) for the Royal Grand Azure in August 2012 and got a Rixos in February 2013. We knew Rixos from earlier stays in Turkey and expected the very best. And we were right: we loved the luxery: rooms, pools, gardens, lobby, bar and a-la-carte restaurants. We used them almost every evening, and liked the Chinese and Italian most. We never stayed in a hotel where the staff was so polite and nice: the waiters, who put our usual drinks on the table even before we sat down, the room boy with his beautiful towel creations, the animation team members and last but not least the ladies from guests relations: Wendy and Bella. They did everything to make our stay even more comfortable. Thank you both!
This is a hotel where we really would like to come back. However: the enormous amount of Russians, many of them with a bad behaviour to the very lovely staff, their eating manners and the loud music, especially for them at the main pool, will probably keep us from returning. And to be honest: the price, that has dubbled in Holland since we booked is too high for our budget.

Sorry late reveiw but better late than never.
3 girls stayed once again at this brilliant hotel and we stayed twice last year and will be doing the same this year. Do not wish to stay anywhere else when visiting Sharm El Sheikh as Rixos is the best hotel ever.
The new Management and all staff are so welcoming, the hotel is spotless and you are spoilt as soon as you are welcomed in Reception on your arrival.
Want to thank in particular Semih & Hussain Management for making us so welcome, Mohamed Said Reception, Mohammed Abdul Rahman & Ibrhame Seer in Zodiac, Mohammed Elnoby beach snack, and everyone else who thoroughly looked after us and made our holiday once again perfect,

This was our 2nd trip to this hotel and we could see and feel the change from RGA to Rixos as soon as we arrived (having stayed at other Rixos hotels, we knew it would be an upward change). I used to think that any poor review was down to a mix up with a much cheaper hotel with a very similar name just down the road – however I now realise that people just like to moan! Good grief – what do people want!?!??!? I can only put it down to ignorance, limited travel experience and too much watching of Hotel Babylon!

Kelly and Bella looked after us when needed – a warm welcome, periodic checks to ensure all was well and light banter while booking the A La Cartes (yes, you have to queue to book them – but I have done this in every 5* AI hotel I have ever stayed at, anywhere in the world!! Most only allow you to book for that day – here you can book up to 3 days in advance).

Our Superior room was lovely, spacious and ultra clean. We were very looked after by Ayman our cleaner – thanks for your towel sculptures! It was always a pleasure to wonder what delight we would be coming back to after a day at the pool/beach.

The excellent range of drinks was served by a very attentive and smiley bar staff. Some even remembered us from 2 years ago! How nice to sip cocktails and champagne while Rachmaninov is played on the piano :)

The array of snacks and food across the day is impressive due to an improved AI “formula” which runs 24 hours a day (including a full meal from midnight if you want it!) Any moan by people of “repetitive food” is once again down to people having a bit of everything everyday rather than making a meal of something. Do you pile a bit of everything from your kitchen cupboards on to your plate each night at home??!???!? Throw in the A La Cartes and you can eat in a different restaurant every day of the week! While the food in the Egyptian restaurant is lovely – compared to the other restaurants, it feels very makeshift (almost like a conference room) and lacks atmosphere – a small attention to some authentic décor would help. We were very glad of the adult only Nefertiti (buffet) Restaurant and were pleased to see the rule forced by the staff. A slight quibble however – the staff are a tad slow at re-setting the tables (same at Zodiac), which makes for a less than 5* search around the restaurant at times. Perhaps a maître d’ would help in the evenings – as at the Baron?

The new spa area made a lovely change from the pool and beach. This also includes a very well equipped gym.

The main area that has improved under Rixos is the entertainment. It is still not quite up to the big productions of Rixos Premium Bodrum, but the Chinese Circus, Las Vegas and Egyptian dance and Fire Shows were entertaining nevertheless. The main daytime animation programme will keep most happy around the heated pool ranging from darts to water polo – be prepared to like dance music – the Russian’s love it! Having said that, with 11 pools and a large expanse of beautiful beach, you can soon walk away from it all and easily find solace if you so wish. My only quibble with the Animation Team was that while some worked VERY hard - others seemed to do nothing. One young boy (the one with the hair), with his girlfriend in always tow, seemed to be on a paid holiday! In the end he became a joke – “nice work if you can get it!”

All in all a fab holiday! I only make constructive comments as I know the management read and take note – a mark of a good hotel in my book! See you in October Kelly and Bella! :)

Dear dazbear

Thank you for taking the time to write about your stay here with us.

We are so pleased you had such an enjoyable stay. Thank you for your comments regarding the Egyptian a la carte we are currently looking to change the decor here and change the ambience to make it more oriental.

Regarding the Entertainment Team we have quite a large team here and some members of the team work during the evenings as they are training in the day for the dance shows so when you see them in the day it may give the wrong impression, never the less i have forwarded your comments to our Entertainment Manager.

Overall we are pleased you had a fantastic stay and we are all looking forward to welcoming you back in October.

Thank you

This was our second stay at Rixos - we stayed last year when it was Royal Grand Azure. Booked direct with the hotel and they gave us the rooms that we had requested without any problem. The improvements that the hotel have made are good - especially the Seafood restaurant on the beach which was great for lunchtime snacks. The beach toilets were a great improvement on last year as were the wind breakers although I do think that they could do with quite a lot more of these as the wind was very strong whilst we were there and there was not enough to go round. Spent 19 days in total at this hotel, the first 10 with a group of 9 friends and the last 9 with 2 daughters and 1 granddaughter who was spoilt by all the staff as they love children. All the staff were fantastic particularly Mandou our room cleaner - he could not do enough for us and also Bella of guest relations, she was a star in organising the Chinese restaurant for our daughter's birthday and a cake as well. The only critisism is with the booking of the restaurants, you have to line up of a morning to book for the next 3 days and this can take a while up to half an hour wait. Also I do not think the buffet restaurant food is as good as last year, although we always managed to find something to suit us, but it was not particularly hot very often. The Italian, Chinese and Seafood restaurants were superb. Justin who worked on the animation team was a gem and so friendly as were the girls in the kids club and my 2 year old granddaughter loved the Rixy disco each evening. It would benefit from more British visitors as the last week we were there was UK half term and more British had arrived and the staff do love the Brits. We had deluxe rooms which were superb and in Block 3 which is a great location. Also all the beds had mattress toppers to them which gave us all a great nights sleep, unlike last year when the beds were so hard. All in all a fantastic holiday and would thoroughly recommend the hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: We had Block 3 - not poolside - and the sun shone there in the late afternoon so drinks and nibbles...

We are happy you are impressed with the improvements since your last visit. We have now made a la carte reservations open for 7 days instead of 3 which has now made it more convenient for our guests. Overall we can see you had an enjoyable stay and we look forward to welcoming you back again in the near future.

We have just returned from our 4th visit to this hotel. Each visit just gets better the hotel has made some excellent improvements since our last visit in October2012 the children's pool now has special slides and lounges for small children they also have a brand new building for a kids club. However what really makes this hotel great are the staff they make you feel so welcome. Special thanks to Samir in the lobby bar for being so attentive, Kelly in customer services and so many more who make your holday feel so special. The hotel also has some lovely shops in particular Ali who specialises in aromatic oils and makes you feel so welcome when you go in. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel cant wait to return. We stayed from 7th Feb to 14th room 17106.

Firstly i would like to apologise for the delay in writing this review, we visited this hotel during the week of the 17th january 2013. My husband booked this holiday to celebrate my 40th Birthday, this was our forth visit to Sharm but first to this hotel. We stayed in a deluxe room which was extremely spacious with a pool view, the room was very clean with luxurious furnishing. The resort was immaculate with numerous pools to suit all taste. During our stay we ate at four of the six ala carte restaurants the food in all four was to the highest of standards with great service from all the staff. The indian is definately not one to be missed, the chef went out of his way and provided us with traditional tasty indian dishes with drinks to compliment. The buffet restaurants also served a large variety of food to suit all tastes. We would without a doubt say this was the best hotel we have stayed at in Sharm and will be returning back with family and friends. The management were very considerate as they sent a lovely cake to our room on my birthday. A special thanks to Bella who was kind enough to show us round the different types of rooms for future stays. We were extremely lucky as the weather was very nice during our stay otherwise the extremely large heated pool is defo a bonus. We could not fault anything at this hotel but would say it could benefit from attracting more british visitors as currently the majority are all Russians. We would like to say thanks to all the staff who made this holiday very enjoyable, and to everyone who is looking to book this hotel, to go ahead as you will not be dissappointed, instead it will exceed your expectations as it did with us.
