Just got back from the Sunrise Tirana Aquapark, on holiday with my wife and four girls aged 6 to 18. We all had an amazing two weeks holiday at this Hotel. Our idea was to go to Egypt for nailed on sunshine which we got (touching 40) towards the end of the holiday and pick a quality hotel with great facilities, which we got.
The Hotel facilities were still not fully open, but this in no way spoilt the holiday, the is a 3rd large pool to be opened and a Wave Machine pool. The 2 open pools are large both with swim up bars!! on top of that their is the Aquapark and Childs Pool area which is the best I've seen.
Food was fantastic and huge daily variety, the service in the main was very good, however, the restaurant staff were a bit mixed in their abilities! This is not a great problem as you just need to ask for what you need.
In addition their was a great animation team led by Erica, they provided daily games and activities which we all thought made the holiday that bit more special plus two fantastic shows a week in the evenings.
Final recommendation would be to go to Ras Mohammed to experience the Red Sea Coral and Fish (If you like Snorkelling) we had an amazing day out, this really is one not to be missed!

Ok, where to start?

The room was clean and tidy on arrival. A spacious bathroom with very roomy shower. Two single beds plus a sofa bed for the child. Swimming pool view on the 1st floor not far from reception. The reception welcome was business like but efficient. It took a while to receive our luggage from the main entrance. It would have been quicker to wheel the cases ourselves but the staff insisted that they would do it.

We were in time for the evening meal. As always it takes a few minutes to get the gist of what's what and how the dinning room operates. Drinks are served by the waiters but don't hold your breath while waiting! As we would find out it's really hit and miss if you got a drink or not. The food was plentiful with a decent choice. Not all the dishes are labelled though which was a minor irritant. 1st impressions were good though.

TV had an assortment of channels, of which about 5 or 6 were English speaking. The film channels weren't bad. Air con was excellent. Easy safe to operate which we managed to mess up! There was water leaking from the celing in the bathroom near the light fitting. This was discovered in the morning on our 1st night. With the help of the cleaner I managed to get engineering to fix and also get the safe reset. The service is not the fastest but it wasn't too bad either.

Pool area was clean and well presented with plenty of sun loungers. As we would find out though, the service at the pool bar was not the fastest and you would need to speak up in order to get served. Of course tips here and there would ensure that the barman would be more attentive somestimes!

The towel guy was ever so friendly but the cynic in me would suggest he would be anyway. He said he would reserve our beds no problem. He only forgot to do so on the first attempt. We gave him another chance but he was erratic at best so was quicky jettisoned. Most of the staff were friendly. Especially the cleaner. I know they work for tips and we are just another face but I like to think it wasn't just for the money.

The slides were well supervised. Not all of them were open though in the 1st week but were fully operational for the 2nd (half term). Not many rings, so hang on to them.

Excellent beach shuttle service runs every 30 mins, FOC. It's about 5-6 mins and can be walked in about 15-20 mins if you are up for it. The beach is compact but offers towels, bar and limited food which is all part of the hotel so again no charge. It would seem the best time to go to see the marine life is in the afternoon when it's not so choppy and the white flag is up. Beware of the rocks and water shoes are highly recommended. I managed to graze my backside. Nothing serious but the potential to get badly hurt is there unless you are careful. Once in the open sea then there are some really beautiful fish to see whilst snorkelling. There is a member of staff on the jetty who will warn you if you stray too far from the jetty. Not for those who not confident swimmers but an ideal opportunity to see some wonderful sights otherwise. There is also volleyball in the morning and afternoon as well as French Bowls, all organised by the friendly animation team.

The animation team is a small but friendly bunch of guys/gals headed by the very friendly Erika. You soon get the routine. Stretching, water aerobics, cocktail game just before lunch which is just a bit of fun comprising of a different game every day. The winner gets a cocktail! Then crazy darts and footy in the afternoon. They were never pushy and always happy to to have a chat and soon got to know your face and names.

What else? There is a daily mini bus to Nanna Bay which runs at 6 and 7 in the evening. You have three hours there in this this very bright and touristy destination to wonder around and stock up on provisions and whatever else. It's 6 US dollars pp there and back which isn't bad. Or you can book a taxi at your leisure and do your own thing. I recommend the Sunday night trip to the casino in Nanna Bay. This is free of charge and leaves the hotel at 9.30. Organised by the animation team. The deal is you get taken to the casino. No charge for entry. 1st drink is free, (non alcoholic only) and you need to spend at least 30 mins in the casino but no pressure to play. After which you can leave and wonder around the shops etc and the transport leaves the casino at 12.30 to take you back to the hotel. I stayed in the casino for about an hour or so just playing the fruit machines. Made a small profit and then went out and about. Only takes sterling, euros and dollars so be aware.

I have more to say but will leave it there for now.

I enjoyed the way off animation in this hotel, I was travelling alone so... Mario, Evgeny, Erika, Vera and Raphael made my stay in Egypt great... They were kind and nice, but they didn't push the tourists to joy them in their activity's... They also speak a lot off laguages so is was easy to understand them... Most off the time that is a problem in a lot off hotels Every day there was a different darts game to play, great aqua gym..   ... I was also staying in this hotel a couple of months ago but .... it was much better now..... I hope that I will meet the same animation team or from the same company again!

This new all inclusive hotel & aqua park is superb. Excellent for families, couples etc.
Food is great, hot food is HOT, the restaurant & all staff are brilliant & friendly. All this despite a few teething problem which you are bound to get with anything new. The Managers & staff however are so good that if you tell them of ANY problem they will sort it out for you WITH PLEASURE. The general manager lives to make his guests happy, so if you are not then please tell him & he will put things right, no problem.
