“A lovely holiday which was spoiled by one major problem...”
Reviewed July 15, 2013

My husband and I visited Sea Gardens from 24th June to 8th July 2013 and as it was our first visit to Egypt we were a little apprehensive. On arrival the hotel looked lovely as it was clean and quiet. At check in we were offered an upgrade from a garden view room to a pool view room free of charge which we gladly accepted. We were quickly taken to our room which was a spacious family room comprising of two single beds in the main bedroom and two single beds in another room with a large bathroom. We went to the restaurant for something to eat and were pleasantly surprised. The hotel offers a 10 day rolling menu for the restaurant with one night being oriental night and the next night being fish night for example. There was a large variety of fresh bread, salads and desserts to choose from along with meat, fish, potatoes and pasta most evenings.
On our return to the room it became apparent that our air conditioning was not working correctly so after a phone call to reception and an hours wait an engineer was sent to our room who quickly said that he wouldn't be able to fix it until the morning. We asked to be moved as it was a warm 35 degrees in the evening and we desperately wanted to use the A/C so somebody was sent to our room within 10 minutes to help move our bags to another room. The next room was equipped with a double bed and two single beds and a large balcony which still overlooked the pool area.
The pool area was incredibly clean and was very quiet for most of our holiday with activities being provided throughout the day. One downside to the pool area was the masseurs and red sea diving reps/sales people who were constantly trying to sell you excursions and treatments. Day after day we were telling them that we weren't interested but we were still asked each day. The pool bar at Sea Gardens was good with snacks being provided between 12-2pm. Snacks consisted of pizza and chips, burger and chips or hot-dog and chips but fresh pastries were available from 10am-12pm and sandwiches available from 2-4pm but you had to be quick as there weren't many available.
This hotel is one of three on the same complex with the others being Sea Life and Sea Club. Sea Gardens is the smallest and most definitely the quietest of all three but it is the only one without a shopping arcade. This was not a major problem as we were able to walk through to the Sea Life (closer) to use their shops.
We went to one evening entertainment show whilst we were there and it was the fire show. Being aged 24 and 29 we lasted about 10 minutes at the show before making a swift exit as it looked more like people trying to guide a plane to land rather than a 'fire show'. We didn't go to any of the other shows so I cannot pass comment on them.
We were enjoying a quiet relaxing holiday when both of us became ill. I don't think this had anything to do with the hotel food but more likely the trip to Cairo which we took which included lunch on the Nile. One day we stayed in the room for the majority of the day and when approached by the cleaner (who was new to the one we had had for the first week and a half) we specified that we did not wish to have the room cleaned this day as we were both ill. We decided to nip out to grab something to eat as we hadn't eaten properly for a few days and we were out of the room for all of 25 minutes. On our return it became apparent that in this space of time the room had been cleaned and my phone had mysteriously disappeared. It is partly my own fault for not using the safe but as we had just nipped out and asked for the room not to be cleaned I didn't think anymore about it. It was only on the following day when my morning alarm didn't go off that I realised it was missing from the room. I phoned reception who said that they would send somebody up to us and after 40 minutes I rang them back and clearly stated that I wanted to speak to somebody. During this time the new cleaner knocked on the door and I told him what had happened and that hotel security were on their way up to the room to which he replied 'is your safe box not working?'.
Five members of staff turned up at our room including security, housekeeping, cleaners and the general manager. After proving to them that is was not in our room and letting them have a look around themselves we were told that they would look into it and see what they could do. We were called to a meeting that evening with the General Manager and our rep from MTS where we were informed that they could not find the mobile phone but they took my email address to contact me if they ever came across it. They were apologising profusely and we were offered a late check out from the room free of charge in the way of an apology. The cleaner continued to clean our block and the rooms either side of us but we hung the 'do not disturb' sign on the door as we didn't want our room cleaning after the incident.
I am not blaming the cleaner as I have no way to prove who it was but I can say that he was the only person with access to the room that we know of. This incident disappointed me because when using a hotel for two weeks on a summer holiday there is a degree of trust that you place in the hotel and its staff.
Apart from this incident, all staff members were incredibly friendly and helpful at all times and were always trying to talk to people. We never went without a drink when sitting in the lobby bar as when we were nearing the end of one, another was placed on the table.
Overall, the holiday and hotel was good and we would definitely return to Egypt. I would probably think twice about booking this hotel again but we probably just had a bad experience. I would recommend the hotel and area to other people but please ensure you use the rooms safety deposit box.

Just today came back from Sea Garden. Was there with my girlfriend for 9 days. We liked the hotel very much but here are +/- tht we discoverred
+
+ the infrustructure of the hotel is very nice. The whole army of garden workers are working to make it look perfect
+ the food was good, especially I liked the oriental corner with some egyptian dishes
+ the room was big, conditionings worked fine, room was cleaned every day
+ I liked the work of animators, they did a great job. I am sure it is very hard to keep smiling to people every day. We went to some evening shows and they were interesting
-
- INTERNET. The price for internet is very expensive (5$ for 30 minutes !!!). I am not sure how many people actually used it. I think the better way would be to install the free Wi-Fi everywhere and include it in room price. I would rather pay +20$ with room price and use the internet whenever I want. I think more people would write about the hotel when they are still there and the small PR in social networks would be only + for hotel too
- no swimming from pontoon before 2-3 PM. The hotel is located in such place where they have constant winds from north and the sea is usually not calm in the first part of the day. It is not a hotel's fault but for people who come only for swimming near corals it is not a best hotel choice. For me 2-3 hours before the evening were more than enough
- Towel cards. For only 2 from 9 days we were able to exchange the towel for towel card in the end of the day. Usually we would exchange it for fresh towel. So basically you have to carry the towel all the way to the hotel room. I dont think that it is a big problem for hotel to issue some more towel cards
- Fresh juice. The fresh juices were sold (2$ which is fair price) only on breakfast in the main restaurant. And we would rather buy them on the beach in the middle of the day. If hotel will start to sell them there i think they can earn more.

Room Tip: 4511 was our room, we like it. I reccomend it for people who will go to the beach as it is closest t...

Thank you for choosing to spend your vacation in Sea Gardens and taking the time to write a review.

It's pleasing to see in general that you had a good stay. The internet is currently being improved to ensure the connection is better but there are no immediate plans for it to be included within the All inclusive. Fresh Juice is available to buy at the Beach Bar for the same charge as in the mornings at Breakfast. I would also like to point out fresh pool towels are available daily.

Look forward to welcoming you back to Sea Group Resorts in the future

Kind Regards

We arrived in hotel at arround midnight, and staff offer to us sandwiches, cakes and drink. According staff, they do their job verry professional. I have little girl old 20 months and 2 waiters (both name Mohamed) they were playing and joking with her. She enjoyed playing with them.
Room service: rooms were cleaned 100%, every time our cleaner (Samy) make from towels some things... one time was swan, heart, flowers,...
Staff was always smiling, they make jokes,...etc.
generally...I will be back next year again.

Room Tip: I think that all rooms are good quality!

My Family and I stayed at hotel form 07 May 13 to 21 May 13.

The hotel is only 20 minutes from the airport which is ideal, especially with our young boys (6 years old and 3 years old).

We arrived at around 2 am, and we were offered sandwiches and home made cakes and drinks, which we appreciated very much.

Our family room was spacious, the air conditioning kept the room lovely and cool, with temperatures reaching 42 degrees we still felt comfortable. Our room was kept very clean and tidy every day, the cleaner (who worked very hard) kept my two boys entertained with his wonderful towel sculptures.

The pool area was kept very clean and tidy, the atmosphere was very relaxing. Mahmood made sure we always had drinks both by the pool area and also the lobby bar - Many thanks to him.

The staff in the restaurant were always smiling and played and talked with our young boys too. The food was superb, there was always something for everyone. The menu for evening meals changed on a 10 day basis. Karim always made sure that we had drinks on our table - Many thanks to him.

The restaurant on the beach was outstanding, the fresh fish we ate there was amazing, my husband and I had a plate of fresh fish each. The chef (sorry uncertain of his name) was really friendly. If you love fish this is an absolute MUST. It is not included in the "all inclusive", but we only paid equivalent to £10.00 total.

I had a bad reaction to the heat (nothing at all to do with the hotel or food, none of us had upset tummies). I have to say a very special THANK YOU to Muhammad the manager of the lobby bar/pool bar who really looked after me, and went out of his way every day to ensure I was feeling better. I really am so grateful to him. Special thanks to him.

I wish to thank all the staff at Sea Garden for making our stay so special, and we hope to return again in February 2014, I'm so looking forward to it. xxx

My family stayed here from 7th-21st May 2013. We have two sons aged 3 and 6. Everyone agreed this was a great hotel. The service from all the staff was first class and they could not do enough for you.
To summarise; great room (ours was a standard family room), great food, spotlessly clean public areas, lovely pools, lovely beach, and attentive staff.
Maybe the reps selling dive trips, spa treatments were a little pushy at times, but everyone has to make a living!
The bar staff and manager at Sea Gardens Lobby Bar get a special mention, thank you for looking after us.
My wife fell ill as a result of too much sun, and we used the on site medical centre, even this was a positive experience.
We hope to return to Sharm early next year, and Sea Gardens is where we want to stay.

A fantastic little gem, intimate, friendly and attentive. So much so that I am in the process of rebooking right now for February.
If you stay here and don't go anywhere else (which you don't have to) please snorkel along the reef, absolutely fantastic!! Worth the holiday just for this experience.
Can't wait to get back there

Room Tip: All rooms are a good size but spend the little extra for a family suite, well worth it!
