“Ok for an overnight”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2006

This hotel is perfectly adequate for an overnight but you wouldn't want to spend too long here. The rooms are clean but not very warm. The location is in a residential area so a bit cut off from town. Most people staying were taking the Devil's Nose train early the next day and for this purpose it is fine.

Stayed here with mom and girlfriend for one night. Room was spacious and clean, staff was very helpful, restaurant was good. Best part was the relaxing area with wonderful views of the volcanoes. I think it is a little bit overprised though...

This is a bit of an odd ranch-style affair but with good-natured staff, a fairly clean room and comfortable beds. The food was good and local. Dinner on the one night we stayed was accompanied by a pan-piper - not usually my sort of thing, but actually good fun. The beer was good value. It's convenient for the train station - for the wonderful ride down through the Devil's Nose.

My family of five just returned fom Ecuador and stayed one night at the Abraspungo. We had two rooms, one of which was a suite. The rooms were rustic but comfortable. The hotel has rooms which are in different buildings, all of which look like a ranch in Texas. There is a restaurant on site which serves above average food. There is also a bar with inexpensive beer. This hotel is closer to the train station in Riobamba than the Hosteria La Andulusa, so you do not have to get up as early in the mornig to catch the train. Overall, the hotel is average, but considering it is in a smaller city in Ecuador, I would rate it above average.
