“Very Quaint establishment.”

Quite a different type of accommodation with some nice touches like colourful rugs and wall hangings our room named Chara was comfortable although a little on the chilly side we could not find any heating unit but it was only one nights stay so we did not complain Food was served in the main building our dinner and breakfast were included as we were part of a tour group and it was very nice If you have the time stroll around there is a lot to see even an Ostrich in a pen plus of course the view of the volcano.

Room Tip: Perhaps it would be worth choosing a suite.

We only were here for one evening but I wish we had more time here. The site is beautifully maintained and wonderfully decorated. There are antiques everywhere you look in the main areas. The layout of the hacienda is wonderful and you feel as if you are in a home rather than a hotel, so to speak. Our room was large and luxurious with a huge, up-to-date bathroom. The restaurant is excellent, not only for food, but for ambience as well. Don't miss this place!

Abraspungo is a comfortable, cozy, tranquil retreat. I've stayed here twice--once for business and once for a weekend away with my husband, and loved it both times. Very well-trained staff, nicely built and decorated rooms, AWESOME restaurant. It's a bit on the expensive side for Ecuador (around $120/night), but in my opinion you get more than your money's worth. The rooms are quiet and the beds super comfortable, nice large bathrooms with rainfall shower heads and jacuzzi tub, DirectTV, little chimney or heater. The restaurant has old-school hacienda charm, and a great bar doesn't hurt. Solid menu with staples like locro de papas and ceviche, plus some more creative dishes like shrimp and crab lasagna--and everything we've tried here is delicious. Great wine selections too. This is a perfect place for a romantic weekend getaway, or for a family or business trip. You won't regret choosing this hotel--it's by far the best in Riobamba (possibly in all of Ecuador!)

Room Tip: They upgraded us to a junior suite at no extra charge, and it was fantastic. Quiet, facing the garde...

In a wonderful setting, overshadowed by a towering volcano, this upmarket hotel with restaurant offers great service, comfort and lots of space. The main building has a cluster of smaller buildings round about, all set in spacious well-maintained grounds. The rooms in the main building have different names rather than numbers. Ours was Cotapaxi, 2 double beds in an area half the size of a soccer pitch. There were lots of chairs and tables, as well as a small cupboard and ample drawer space. The lighting was excellent, and a large fireplace was lit at night, with plenty of firewood to keep the warmth going. Toiletries were generous and of high quality. The shower and other fixtures were state-of-the-art. The breakfast was terrific, easily the best of all our hotels in Ecuador and Peru, while a simple but excellent dinner was provided on our arrival: 1. Fabulous potato soup with avocados and cheese. 2. Spaghetti Bolognaise as good as you will get anywhere.3. A very well made Lemon Mousse. I wish we had stayed longer in this delightful accommodation, and that the high standard had been replicated more often during our travels. The facilities included a Business Centre and Games Room as well as WIfI throughout.

This place was amazing. It was clean and quiet and the quality of the stay was amazing. We stayed in a suit with a fire place and someone came in to light the fire. The bathroom had a massive tub for two and an elegant shower. We had a king size bed and it was soft and cozy.

We had dinner there and during the dinner there was a musician playing Andean music. The service was spectacular, also. My boyfriend stayed and played pool with our tour guide while I soaked and relaxed in the tub.

In the morning we saw a chicken and her baby chicks running past our windows.

I was very sad to leave this place. I highly recommend it and wish I could have spent more time there.

We stayed for only one night to take the devils nose train. The place was charming and the rooms were very comfortable. The top was the hotel restaurant with an Ecuadorean and Peruvian fusion, it was an amazing dinner. The service was very attentive and helpful. I would recommend this place for a longer stay.

Hotel Hacienda Abraspungo is strategically located in the heart of the beautiful city of Riobamba. The first impression you get is the magnificent facade of this majestic Hotel with its colonial and traditional belfry. From the moment you enter the lobby you can perceive the hospitality and professional treatment that you get from the personnel. Inside the Hotel walls there are incredible photos of the Chimborazo volcano and its glaciers. You can also see pictures of the last ice picker in Ecuador "Baltazar Ushca", portraying he history of this iceman´s life. The premises of the hotel and its installations show the amount of effort and hard work that the owners have input into this luxury hotel. The food in the restaurant is superb! The chef creates his dishes with a lot of Peruvian influence and also uses fusion on international gourmet food with local recipes and local ingredients making a final incredible culinary experience.
The rooms are ample and by ample I mean huge! Each room comes with its own heating unit or a chimney. The beds are simply heavenly, once you lie down in your bed you will have a long and peaceful rest. My room came with a interior jacuzzi inside the bathroom which is great for a relaxing time.
The gardens in the hotel are immense and beautiful. They have a lot of local flora and fauna.
Overall the experience that I got in this hotel is incredible. I am looking forward to go to this hotel many more times and spend more time in Abraspungo!!!!

Room Tip: All rooms are ultra deluxe so there is no mystery in choosing one!
