We stayed here in August 2013 and were very happy with our choice of hotel for our first stay in Riobamba. The hotel was beautifully presented throughout with extremely friendly, helpful staff. Bathroom was very nice, including the complementary toiletries and shower/tub combo and the beds were lovely. We ate a few times in the restaurant in the hotel and the food was excellent. We also found the location to be very nice, close to everything in the centre. Thanks to Ben and the team for a wonderful stay!

We had a lovely stay. The bed and bath linens were lucious, high cotton. The shampoo and bath soap was amazing! I highly recommend this hotel. Price was reasonable and the rooms were high end. We had excellent meals at the restaurant.

I have spent my fair share of time visiting Riobamba and stayed in a few different places there and can honestly say that this one was by far the best! This place had, hands down the best bed, the best food, and the best service out of everything I experienced in my six months of traveling around Ecuador. I didn't even know you could have food like this in Ecuador. Ben and Jenny cooked us up a spectacular Halloween feast with REAL STEAK! Their breakfast and lunch deals are some of the best for the price in Riobamba and the building is spectacular. It's a very old building that has been beautifully restored, and the cellar bar is a great place to unwind with drinks and friends at the end of a long day. Also, the proximity to the city center is perfect. It's close enough to walk and be in the heart within a couple of minutes but far enough that you don't suffer the sounds and smells of traffic congestion. The rooms are small but cozy and the beds are surprisingly comfortable. I could go on forever about this place as I miss it dearly but what cannot be overstated is the outstanding service by owners and staff. Ben, Jenny and Carlos are the best in the business! Stay here, you will be pleasantly surprised!!

The rooms were wonderfully priced. Beautifully furnished. The Hotel is in a beautiful home the rooms are very comfortable. Plenty of HOT water. Best night sleep I have had in Ecuador. It is also right in the middle of the city so it is easy to walk anywhere. They also have parking available in a secure lot.

But the real attraction here was the customer service. Carlos at the front desk was incredibly helpful. He gave us advice on where to go and even arranged tickets for the train down the Nariz Del Diablo.
Go for the beautiful atmosphere & stay for the wonderful service!

The lobby and atrium of this historic building are georgious, but the rooms are not worth the price. Despite having asked for a quiet room we were given one facing the street and assured that the sound proof windows would cut the noise, which is wishful thinking at best. The room had some other deficiencies, such as paint blotches on the walls, a broken night table lamp, chipped wood on the door, noisy bathroom fan that cannot be turned off, only lukewarm water at 6:30 am and 6:30pm, etc. I can not understand the five star TripAdvisor rating, which I usually find reliable.

Room Tip: Away from the street!

Very well located on a side street in Riobamba. Nice and quiet with all the restaurants and activities of Riobamba an easy walk away. The hotel staff are absolutely top notch and go out of their way to help out. This place is highly recommended.

If I were going to Riobamba again this is where I would stay. Housekeeping is first rate. This property is over 100 years old and has been beautifully restored. The rooms are small but lovely and the lobby is a work of art with beveled etched glass, period woodwork, and modern accent lighting that enhances all the special touches this place has. It is also an excellent value.
