This is one of the nicest artisan markets i've visited ever. The better day is Saturday, because many producers from the towns around come down the mountains to sell their products.
Other resellers won't think it twice in tell you lies about they produce the handcrafts, so don't expect much honesty about their experience making the products, even you can meet the original producer, it's difficult to really know.
If you don't look much surprised for the handcrafts, they will ask you "name your price, buddy" (in spanish "dime tu precio, amigo") so you would like to ask around before buying if you're worried about your budget.
Also, around you can find very cheap street food, well cooked, with soup and second from US$ 1.75, and some other meals from US $0.50.
