We arrived at Hacienda Cusin late at night to find it dark and quiet except for our warmly lit family suite with roaring fires awaiting us in both bedrooms and hot water bottles at the foot of each bed. The next morning we awoke to the true beauty of the place. Fresh, fragrant air from the extensive garden, the beautiful main house with its welcoming dining room staff and delicious fresh food procured from the vast onsite vegetable and fruit gardens.
Valeria and Daniella at reception were a wonder. They helped us organize our group of 10 before we arrived and throughout our stay. We took several excursions: to the Condor Park and Otavalo, we rode the well-kept horses at the on-site stables, and explored the monastery and local area on foot. Valeria even organized for a fire to be lit and coffee to be served in the cozy bar area so our large group could celebrate Christmas morning where Santa had left our gifts. It was perfect.
We were also lucky enough to be there at the same time as Nick and Barbara Millhouse, the owners. Nick acts as host, he was gracious and helpful and very entertaining, He has wonderful stories of about how he developed this property over the past 25 years. We applaud the results and we will be back.More
