“Hike a Crater Lake with Stunning Views”
Reviewed June 4, 2014

A strenuous 4 to 5 hour hike around a crater filled lake that contains 2 large islands. Unfortunately, the trail doesn't completely circumnavigate the lake and about 2 miles of it must be done at the shoulder of a paved road.

“Guinea Pig Islands”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

I visited this Laguna as part of a day tour to Otavalo. It was a bit of an after thought and nothing more than just a view. Apparently there are lots of guinea pigs living on the islands in the middle of the lake.

“Spectacular lake”
Reviewed May 22, 2014

A stunning lake with a variety of activities - from hiking to renting a taxi to drive you around it to taking a boat ride, there are numerous ways to view this stunning and sacred body of water.

Give yourself the better part of a day if you want to hike around it and enjoy it. We ran out of time, but I would have loved to have hiked the entire perimeter.

“Ecuador's "Crater Lake"”
Reviewed May 12, 2014

Beautiful lake that can be viewed via an inexpensive boat ride, or on short hikes overlooking it. If this were in the U.S., visitors would be comparing its striking beauty to Crater Lake National Park.

“What a great place”
Reviewed May 11, 2014 via mobile

Did the boat trip and was amazed at how good value everything is here. Saw the sulphur bubbles coming up from the bottom of the volcanic lake ... Was kind of glad to get off the boat !!! Fantastic place a must see
