Everything was perfect at this hotel. Helpful staff, lovely room with very comfortable bed, good black out drapes, quiet, nice washroom with fabulous shower. Great location - just three blocks to Malecon 2000.

We arrived late to the hotel and they were very accommodating. We were hungry from a long day of traveling and they were quick to arrange a meal and wine to our room. Our transportation to the airport for the next morning was arranged at the desk upon arrival. Though the room smelled a bit musty it was clean and the bed was comfortable. We left early the next morning and had a very nice complimentary breakfast. If you are planning a quick stop over I would highly recommend Hotel Palace. They do not provide a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport though they will arrange for a taxi to pick you up. We asked for a pick up at the airport and though we were terribly delayed getting through customs our driver was waiting for us. At first we were told by the hotel that our cab would be $10. Later we were told by that it would be $7. Our cab driver asked for only $5. So it is Important to be aware that you are hiring a private taxi and not one that is actually an airport shuttle belonging to the hotel.

Dear Guest:

Thank you very for recommend us for the overnights. We are glad to have you and your family stay with us.

Our reservations agents have the instructions to inform to our guests a price for pick up to the airport of $10 usd as an estimated rate. Sometimes the driver should wait outside longer and the parking lot charge a rate that the driver has to pay, In your case it wasn´t necessary.

Thank you for your comments about the breakfast service, we appreciate it!

Looking forward to your next visit.

Best Regards,

Lorena Garay C

My family and I stayed there when we first arrived in Guayaquil until we found a place to rent. The hotel is clean, modern, and the location is unbeatable. The next door La Pausa restaurant is ideal for lunch and the corner store: Las 3 canastas makes the best 'batidos (smoothies)' on town! The hotel personnel was extremely professional and went beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. They provide a secure and friendly taxi service for guests, because it is too dangerous to take a taxi in the streets! I highly recommend this hotel and I am planning to go back on each subsequent trip to Ecuador.

was only in guayaquil for a single night. this hotel was very clean, the staff was very courteous, and one particular person (jose?), who lived in nyc for a few years, spoke very good english for those with difficulty with spanish. location is very close to the malecon/las penas for some quick tourist walks, as well as right off a major street with stores, etc. the breakfast in the morning was completely relaxing, with delicious bread, some proteins, and a nice introduction to ecuadorian fruits. i would definitely stay here again.

2 tips:
1. you should only pay 7 for a one way taxi ride. other places even offer free shuttle service (so i've heard). tip if you want (you should), but bring exact change otherwise.
2. if flying to the galapagos islands, be sure to arrive ~ 2 hrs before your flight leaves. you have to stand in line to have your luggage specially inspected, and you need to pay $10 (cash) for a tourism card (can't remember the name) before entering to board your flight. i missed my flight because i arrived 1 hr before (as recommended by the hotel staff), and had to take the next one. didn't have to pay extra, but it did put me behind just by a couple hours.

My wife and i recently stayed at Hotel Palace and had a wonderful experience. We speak a little spanish and we try hard, but everyone's english there was excellent. The staff, the whole staff, everyone we encountered was just great, from the front desk to the morning breakfast hostess and waiters to the bell hop to the bar keep. Excellent service!
Some really nice amenities included which will assure our return.
- a VERY comfortable bed in a nice room, good lighting. quiet.
- Shower pressure set to stun. wonderful.
- wifi included
- full breakfast included and the food was delicious
- complimentary drink at happy hour
- Located 3 blocks from the iguana park, not to be missed!! also a few blocks from the malecon. right downtown, great location. Walked around with friends at night and felt safe, but its Guayaquil, dont get cocky.
Overall wonderful experience, we will definitely return on our next trip to Guayaquil
Thanks Hotel Palace.
