“Perfect for a one-nighter (only)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 14, 2014

I stay at Holiday Inns a lot and this one is what you've come to expect: very nice, clean, and convenient to the airport. It's not convenient to the city, necessarily, but hey that's only a $4 taxi ride away.

Advice I can give you is to not take the shuttle from or to the airport. You can walk much faster to the hotel---it's 5 minutes by foot and can be 20 mins or more by shuttle, especially going "to" the airport when they have to take a circuitous route.

One annoying thing about the hotel: if you travel with a child, they will insist that the rooms can only fit 2 people. In fact, you cannot book a room for 3 on the website. That's not helpful. We got around this by saying we were two and showing up with the child, who easily fit into the rooms with 2 queen sized beds anyway. (Hotel management: you should address this somehow on your website)

Dear LetsGooooooo ,

We would like to thank you for sharing your opinion about your experience at our Hotel.

Regarding distance to the city, we are only 8 minutes by car of newest attractions of Guayaquil like Samborondón, Plaza Lagos, Plaza Navona, Historical Park to mention a few. Also with a short ride, in less than 5 minutes you can be at the financial and commercial center of Guayaquil, where you can find Malls and different locations.

Concerning the shuttle distance from the Hotel to the Airport, we are working to shorten time, as coming from the Airport to the Hotel, like you mentioned is only a short 4-5 minutes’ walk.

In regards to our website, you can easily book rooms for three even four people, depending of the room type and category.

We really appreciate the time you took to share your comments and recommendations.

Best Regards,

David Vallet

We used this hotel before and after the trip to Galapagos. This is a very good hotel less than 400 meters from the airport.
The rooms are very comfortable. The food in the restaurant is very good and overall value for money is great.

After traveling in Ecuador for a month this hotel was so appreciated for our last night! We did not stay here upon arrival and really regretted it. I thought we should have a more authentic stay and was I ever sorry!
It is practically at the airport which is convenient. It is also less than a block from where we took a shuttle van to and from Cuenca.
Beautiful secure property with a fantastic outdoor pool and hot tub. Comfortable seating too.
The room was large and the beds were heavenly. On site restaurant/bar was spendy but good!

We were duly impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel, the courtesy of the staff, and the great breakfast that was provided. The hotel is within viewing distance of the airport, and there is a shuttle service for free. We walked, but how convenient. The hotel had great hot water supply and pressure (not always the case in Ecuador). For $6.00, the breakfast was as good as any five star hotel/resort. From fruits, breads, to continental food, everything was available. There is a bar area stocked with pretty much anything a person would want - while we didn't partake, it was impressive. The room came with a stocked fridge (snacks, water, drinks, etc.) for a price, but not absorbent. I do not know if they are pet friendly. The room was quiet, and we could not hear our neighbors. I do not know where the ice machine was located, but there was an ice bucket in the room. We made our reservations on-line and the room was ready when we showed up. For those who know no Spanish, the staff speaks fluent English. I think they are a bit pricey, and you have to pay for the breakfast, but all in all, the hotel is worth a visit.

After staying at both Holiday inns in Ecuador, in Quito and now in Guayaquil, we have to admit that we are very impressed by high quality of these hotels. Both are very new and of high level comparing to f.e. european properties of these brands.

Location is very good if you have late or early flight as it is five minutes straight walk from the terminal. As other mentioned there is free shuttle in private car available. We have used it on departure and it took around ten minutes to get to the terminal by car.

There is nothing else around the property except the airport. You can walk to the supermarket which is across the road though. Other places are reachable by hotels taxi. Clean, comfortable, safe and cheap. It is around 15 mins by car to Malecon.

Hotel has very nice and inviting lobby. Front desk is well serviced, profesional, not overly friendly though.

Rooms are modern, clean, and very good soundproofed. Bed with harder mattress and choice of pillows as normal at HI. Views over (not ver busy) runway were very nice change for us comparing to usual city/street views.

Sky club executive lounge is very nicely appointed with designer furniture. Evening spread consist of few cold items and cakes, good red/white wines and some other spirits. Breakfast looks good but some of the items were just average on taste.

Internet fast and free.

Overall recommendable safe and comfortable choice for our short stay between flights with just one afternoon left for quick city sightseeing.

The Holiday Inn is a short walk from the airport terminal. The hotel is newly built clean and the staff is friendly. The check-in desk understood English very well.

If you're passing through to the Galapagos Islands this is the place to stay.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Guayaguil Airport on two separate occasions within a week as we transited through Guayaquil and left with positive feelings; here's why.

The HIGA is barely a five minute walk from the airport. It was raining when we arrived and were grateful to having the hotel shuttle there for us. Word of caution: the ride from the hotel back to the airport is much longer because of the circuitous route. If you are physically able, the walk back to the airport will be shorter than the shuttle.

The hotel itself pretty much gleams from outside to inside. The lobby was modern and seemed like a nice place to hang out and use the effective WiFi. The staff at the desk was effectively bilingual (English/Spanish), friendly and efficient.

The room was nicely furnished and clean. The room darkened well and was quite. The bed was firmly comfortable but the feather pillows too mushy for my taste.

The breakfast buffet was nice but a poor value.

Taxi rides to nearby attractions were mostly less than $5.

Overall, we were pleased with the HIGA and would return under similar circumstances.

Room Tip: The walk back to the airport will be faster than the shuttle if you are physically to haul your lugg...

Dear Doctor Bobster,

Great to have received your visit from Gainesville and for sharing your impressions about our services.

One note on the drop off shuttle service, soon we will have direct access to the flight terminal and both trips will take aproximatelly 2 minutes.
