“Malecon”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2012

The walk down the Malecon was much nicer than being in the city, it is certainly a highlight. We ate dinner outside in a restaurant on the Malecon. The Malecon was beautiful and the people friendly. The Malecon is well lit and I've never seen so many cops in my life. Guayaquil is a big city and maybe they need that many cops.

“Nice place to stroll”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2012

Take your time and take it in. Very nice local shopping on the way and take the hop on hop off tour. It gives you a great overall view of the city layout.

“Scenic & Restful”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2012

Malecon extends about 4 blocks along the river front with restaurants, a park of tropical gardens, mini museums, music, food and other vendors. One could spend the entire day there in beautiful surroundings. It's a family friendly park with entertainment. I enjoyed the experience.

“Very nice area in Guayaquil”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2012

This is a "nicer" area of Guayaquil and they have a boat cruise on the river. The "pirate ship" is named the Captain Morgan. Buy a ticket and try to get on in the front of the line so you can get a table on the upper deck for drinks and snacks.

“Great Waterfront Park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2012

This was a treat! I walked above the underground mall and enjoyed the modern sculptures and the statues of famous people in Ecuador's past. There were restaurants along the way, to sit , eat or just have a glass of beer. The SV Henry Morgan is a tall ship that is used for training and is docked there. I saw young boys getting into a huge, inflatable, plastic ball and trying to walk around a pond, while tethered to the shore.

The underground mall has everything a tourist could desire and more!! Blocks and blocks of boutiques and shops.

It's a must see!!!
