“Nice View”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

Although it was hot walking all those stairs. The lighthouse and bar at the top was worth the climb.

“So many steps!”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

Perhaps we were there at thewrong time of day (mid day) but nothing much was open and the steps are MANY even though we are not particularly old or out of shape, but with heat and humidity added it's an undertaking to reach the top. Nothing for the physically frail... There was an amazing view of the city from there and the lighthouse and chapel were mostly worth the climb.

“bring some water with you for the long walk”
Reviewed December 15, 2012

Long walk worth going there. Nice view from Malecon. Nice from top also.
We went there the first day after only one night of rest, and we counted all the stairs, until finally get to top.
Some passes par le quartier Las Penas pour avoir la vue de cet endroit.

“Well worth the climb”
Reviewed December 4, 2012

Very interesting to climb the steps between the restored buildings (look out for the before and after photos on most of them). Well worth going to the top for the view.

“Worth the climb”
Reviewed December 4, 2012

Long way up to the top, but worth it. Cool view of the city. Free outdoor "museum" featuring canons. Go in the morning to beat the heat. Luckily lots of locals were selling beverages along the route toward the top. Walk there and the area felt safe.
