from a "leading hotel of the world". Sure, this is not Lonfon or Manhattan, but still if you belong to one of the leading hotel chains of the world you shoud be up to the standards...
Please do not misunderstand me, service was good and the place was clean, but the overall feeling was that we were at a very standard hotel.

Pricey hotel but very comfortable, albeit with slightly small bathrooms. Excellent location to explore Guayaquil in relative safety. Truly superb breakfast buffet. The attached deli serves excellent sandwiches and cakes.

Only negative is the concierge - asked for a restaurant recommendation for a place of similar class as the in-house French restaurant. We were sent on a 20 minute taxi ride to a very basic neighbourhood steak house (think plastic table covers and pictures on the menus..........) No apology offered when we complained.

Poorly run. It wants to be luxurious but isn't. Musty. They claim to have internet in the rooms but this isn't true ---I've had to stay here several times, it never works and the staff promises to send someone to fix it who never arrives. Notable stinginess about guest use of their business center, or 75 cents for the soap chips in the rooms and only one tiny bottle of water in the room.

Their best feature is their cafe.

Really great breakfast.
Wonderful introduction to the country, especially for kids who are squeamish about the food in other countries.
Nice hotel, not too stuffy. The kids were able to run around the lobby.
Comfortable.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights last summer. Set my glasses down on Dinner table and no where to be found next day. Same dinner they gave my brother food poisoning (sea bass in shrimp sauce). Totally ignored my request for follow up on glasses and ignored my brother’s food poisoning. Never stay here again. EVER!

Any hotel can be good, what separates the truly good from the bad are when things go wrong what is the Hotel’s response. This hotel had NO response.

Club Level was fantastic. Customer service was off the charts by the concierge at the club level- especially Mable. Outstanding complimentary buffet at 5PM and excellent breakfast. Nice rooms- great shower. Massage at fitness center was outstanding and very modestly priced. Common areas of the hotel are slightly worn down and threadbare but rooms were lovely. I can not say enough how the Club Level made our stay. Great advice by Mable and every detail attended too.....

We stayed here through Klein tours on an overnight after the Galapagos Islands. It was a beautiful facility with nice rooms, a fantastic fitness facility, and restaurants and bars. The only negative thing we have to stay about this hotel was the bartenders and servers at the bar El Capitan, the hotel lobby bar, was AWFUL!! The drinks-a vodka/tonic was $12 and the bartender acted like she was doing you an incredible favor to serve you and the servers disappeared, not to be seen for long periods of time. The facility was very clean and modern and right down town. Rooms were very nice with cable TV including American channels. Free 30 minutes of internet everyday!
