I have, unfortunately, learned not to expect great service when dining in Ecuador. However, today my friend took me to lunch at Don Francis in the San Borondon neighbourhood and I was blown away! The service was professional, attentive, and overall superb! The cuisine was also excellent. I had prawns in coconut with a great sweet mustard dipping sauce then the Asian rice paper rolls with duck. It was an interesting mix of Thai fusion that was very tasty. My friend first had warm camembert with a crispy sesame seeds crust on a bed of lettuce and pear slices, then pangora (crab) crepes with a gorgeous creme sauce. For lunch, the menu continued with other appetizers, salads, soups, and several pages of main courses including seafood, meat and pastas. I believe this is also the dinner menu. We couldn't even look at the dessert menu, but I will most certainly be returning to Don Francis. This is by far the best restaurant experience I have had in Guayaquil!
