“Charming Ambiance, Good Food & Service”

I'm visiting Guayaquil and had an early dinner at Lo Nuestro today. Great food and service, charming ambiance, great surroundings, moderate prices. I highly reccomend it.

“Tasty Ecuadorian Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2012

The ambience of the restaurant is very charming. I had swordfish stuffed with crab meat, which was outstanding. I also had a Pisco Sour to drink which was really nice.

“Delicious local food with an old world flair”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2012

On the recommendation of the hotel staff, we arrived at Lo Nuestro famished after a day of traveling. It was a Sunday, so no alcohol could be served, but there was a full representation of South America's greatest hits on display. The waiter was patient and friendly and seemed out of an old movie where courtesy and hospitality were valued. The ceviche, crab croquetes and mashed plantains with crab and coconut were great ways to start the meal. Grilled sea bass and shrimp rice were well executed and portioned. The aji (typical hot sauce) added a very piquant accent to each dish. Our dishes were clean at the end of each course. The framed newspaper clippings made for fascinating gazing between courses.

“Incredibly disappointed”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2012

After dining here tonight, I am completely shocked by the overwhelmingly positive reviews found on tripadvisor, In fact, it makes me wonder if they are truly written by patrons of this restaurant.

The service was gruff and unfriendly. The food was awful - I had the shrimp and coconut sauce which was obviously made with frozen cooked shrimp as it was completely lacking in flavor. The chocolate cake we had for dessert was essentially indelible. How others rave about this food, I know not. To top it off, it is ridiculously expensive by local standards. Avoid at all costs!

“Wonderful Ecuadorian food in a Guayaquil from yesteryear.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2012

If you want to try delicious cebiches or cazuela in an old-fashioned ambience, have dinner at Lo Nuestro. The waiters are pro's. I loved that they wear guayaberas. If you are Julio Jaramillo fan, ask to sit in his salon.
