“Villa Moretti”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2012

I loved the Villa Moretti. It was easy to locate, a few minutes walk from the Bura Line ferry from Split and a few minutes walk across the bridge to the main attractions.
The room was huge, but could use a little updating, but still nice.
The breakfast was served on a nice terrace. It was a very good breakfast.
I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: I had a room in the front of the building which gave me good views of town.

Dear Madam,
Thank you for staying with us and writing us a nice review. We are glad you spent good time in our town and house and Croatia in general
Only one thing I have to mention, hope you wont mind and dont get me wrong- your review is very nice and appreciated.
Room you stayed in is a new room ( you were the third guest) but furniture is originally furniture from 18/19 th century, drapes are made like they were once and ceiling is originally made by Venetian paintworkers in 18/19 th cent.
We wanted and needed to keep this look as the house is under the protection like historical building.
Another thing I wanted to mention is that all the rooms have the view as there is no any back side room without the view of the town and sea.
Now that USA is far but hope you will turn back in Croatia as it remained lot to see here.
With kind regards
Emilia

Our family of 4 (including 2 small kids) were thrilled to stay in Villa Moretti!
We loved everything about it: from hoststs to beautiful room and the breakfast on the terrace overlooking Trogir. We recommend this without any reservations!

The people that run this small Inn are very nice and do work hard to make your stay an enjoyable one but other than that I find nothing remarkable about this very average accomdation. The rooms are small and dark with only one small window to enjoy the view across the channel. The location is good right across from the old town but there is also a ton of noise from the boats, cars, scooters, and jets flying overhead at all hours since you are directly under the flight path for the Split airport. Not the place I would choose for a relaxing vacation that is for sure. At 90 euro a night I'm sure there must be better choices in the area.

Dear Sir,
Thank you for your review. I am sorry we didnt meet your expectations. Maybe they were to high.
We are not a big new 4 star hotel situated away from the town. On the contraty we are situated in historical (protected) building which has been built long time ago and cant have big windows like modern hotels. Giving you the feel of modern is not our attitude. Darkness in the rooms is coming also
from the fact that you came during the summer and in Croatia is very hot and keeping windows open will let all the sun and hot inside( of course there is AC to cool it but with direct sun it makes it more difficult).
Regarding to the noise it is true that Trogir is close to the airport and that we all hear airplane landing in whole the town.
Also we are located in the town and you cant have quiet and peace atmosphere in the peak season ( for that you have to choose locations away from the town).
Room tip is not good because all rooms have the view of the sea and town (there is no back side room at all).
Value and price comparison in your opinion is not good but this already experienced our another guests who are coming back every year.
Trogir center is not a place to relax on the beach but it is historical pearl with lot of historical monuments to see and feel and therefore is listed on UNESCO list.
It is good to keep all this things in mind to not have wrong expectations.
With kind regards
Emilia Biočić

Stayed here only one night, our last in Croatia. The house is beautifully situated on the harbour front, opposing Trogir old town. The room we stayed in was very spacious and the interior was seriously nice, with wonderful old furniture and a massive bed. One minus point though, as the breakfast was surprisingly average. The owner was very helpful, and also told us the house had been in the family for generations and they renovated some of the rooms and let them out as they realised they did not need all the extra space themselves. Good thing they did! Go there and see for yourself.

Room Tip: We stayed in the room listed as "room 1" on their website. Brilliant stuff.

Dear Madam/Sir,
Thank you for your review. We are glad you spent good time in Trogir and our house and hope you will come back one day and stay again with us.
I am sorry we didnt meet your expectations regarding breakfast. We serve coontinental breakfast (juice, joghurt, coffe, tea, meat, cheese, pastries, spreads and fresh fruit) as we have small capacity (only 5 rooms) and the climate is very hot cant provide buffet breakfast as it is served on outside terrace.
Breakfast itself is included in the price (5 Eur per a person is hope more than fair comparing the prices in the bars )
Of course we are improving it every year and every suggestion from our guests is wellcome.

A great location overlooking the old town and comings and goings on the river. The host is really friendly and accommodating in this villa which has been in the family since 1792. Very clean and superbly comfortable. Windows all have double glazing so when the windows closed beautifully quiet. I definetly would recommend this accommodation.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Villa Moretti and Emilia, the lovely Owner. Our room and bathroom were spacious, spotless and the gorgeous views from the 3 windows in our room were amazingly entertaining with the comings and goings on of life in Trogir. We really felt like we were a part of this lovely seaside community and enjoyed each and every day of our 4 night stay. Breakfast got us off to a good start each morning and we hope one day soon to return.

Just spent a week in Room 1 of this wonderful hotel. Large traditional room with big modern bathroom. Excellent location, with beautiful changing views from the room, looking over the marina at boats visiting Trogir. Bars, restaurants, supermarkets, bus stops and ferry boats all just yards away and beaches within walking distance. Last but certainly not least the attentive but discreet care of Emilia. Nothing was too much trouble to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Thank you so much.

Room Tip: Room 1 or 4 as these are the two corner rooms with three windows giving great views.
