We had a delightful stay at Casa Garzotto for two nights in mid-September. It would be a mistake to stay anywhere else. Robert who manages the hotel is helpful, informative, and warm. The rest of the staff including Marco and Marna were energetic and so kind. Location perfect, atmosphere perfect, and wonderful customer service!

This little gem on one of the main streets in Old Town was made even better by guy at the desk...Robert. Upon arriving in Rovinj, we called the hotel and Robert appeared at our car minutes later. He carried our bags up his steep and slippery street and offered us a welcome drink when we got there. His restaurant suggestions were right on, so trust him on that. He personally drove four women who had been staying there to Zadar (a four-hour plus trip), so if you're looking for transportation help, he's good for that too. Our room was at the top of many, many steps, but good for walk-training in this vertical city. The wine bar next door was an added gift. Owners Helena and Mandi know their wines and Matt served us the best wines we had in Croatia (we sampled many). Rest of the staff was terrific too; everyone made you feel special and like you had found home. This was our favorite place in all of this special country.

The room and breakfast were good. But the customer service was beyond belief- really made our stay in Rovinj a terrific place to start our trip in Croatia! Robert, the main person running the hotel, was very helpful with advice and recommending restaurants and local places to visit.

Lovely place in 3 old buildings within the old town.
We booked a room on the 3rd floor of the main building, and were not disappointed.
Old style large and exquisitely furnished room, still with all modern amenities. As mentioned by other tracellers, you need to be able to climb the 40 steps, but it is worth the effort.
Staff is very helpful and friendly, with special mention for the the charming Lady serving Breakfast (in an adjacent building), the receptionnist, and, of course, Marco, who kept running up and down every day and night, to help us with our car and luggage.
If you are in Istria, this is a lovely hotel in a lovely town, from where you can explore the rest of the peninsula.

Room Tip: if you can climb, choose one of the 2 top rooms in the main building.

What a find this hotel is! Robert and Marco gave us fantastic customer service. They are a huge bonus to the hotel. They were patient and helpful no matter how redundant our questions were. They helped us with our luggage, moved our car to parking, offered us bikes to ride, and made suggestions about restaurants. The apartment we stayed in was on another street opposite the hotel. The place itself is not fancy but it's in old town and has so much character. The air conditioning worked well, thank goodness, and the bathrooms were clean and well stocked. The breakfast area is right next door and offered plenty of choices of food. We would definitely stay here again. If you're traveling in Europe, visit Rovinj and stay here if you want a sense of the Croatian people - you won't be disappointed. I would never choose to stay in one of the big, fancy tourist hotels instead of here.
