A beautiful hotel , situated in a fantastic spot, the staff were polite unobtrusive and very helpful, the staff at the spa were especially nice and very professional, our room was huge although we did upgrade, but was worth every penny, the breakfast was a true delight with everything you would expect from a 5star hotel and more, a special place, I shall be returning.

Room Tip: Iam sure all the rooms are equally as nice.

We stayed here as a birthday treat the first week in June. Wonderful service, perfect rooms and glorious location. Breakfast was excellent everyday with champers if desired!!! Our room was on the ground floor with views of the gardens and sea. Very peaceful. Huge bathroom and all mod cons. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Rovinj old town is a lovely 15 min walk along the marina and its beautiful. Lots of cafes and restaurants. We will return!

Room Tip: All rooms face the sea

Dear Guest,

Thank you for highlighting our location, service and rooms, what could we appreciate more. We're very proud to have such a great hotel near Old town of Rovinj. Did you know that Rovinj's old town was built on the slopes of a hill that was originally an island but is now considered a peninsula? The channel that separated Rovinj from the mainland was filled in during the 18th century. Now as you noticed the streets are full wih galeries and cafes.
We can't wait until your next visit!

Once again, thank you,

We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite which worked brilliantly for us and our 2 boys 9 and 13. It faced the harbour and old town being in a sep block to main hotel. Whole complex has fabulous grounds and pools with easy walk to town or around the adjoining national park and coves. Breakfast buffet one of the best we have experienced and we have had many super ones in South Africa and various European destinations, the maitre dee was particularly impressive always making us feel special and well looked after.
The Winevault restaurant is expensive for Croatia but compares well to top London restaurants . The food was a blend of Raymond Blanc and Heston ..truly memorable. We ate their twice and only regret not finding out that they have a Chefs table until we were leaving!
We would firmly recommend this hotel to families who like quality without pretentiousness!
With regard to comments on decor and music it is strange wat appears to upset some people!!

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your appreciation not only of the comfortable hotel area and 2 bedroom suite which we like to offer to families. We are especially pleased that you enjoyed the breakfast and the service of our stuff, attending every need, small or big, of our discerning Guests.

It is great to learn that one of the best experiences was at our fine dining restaurant Wine Vault, where as you noticed Chef Tomislav Gretić introduced last year the Chef’s table as first in Croatia.

We hope to have soon the pleasure of welcoming you back for new, precious moments and hopefully the Chef table.

Best wishes,

Spent 10 days at this hotel. Everything was perfect from first day to last day. Very helpful, warm and polite staff, very efficient receptionist, everything I needed they did in shortest time possible. Hotel in total is very great, modern and earns each of five stars. Our room was with a view on the sea, which was the best decision we made. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets, and enjoyed a view to the city. Everything was very clean, and high-standard. Simply excellent, and we are staying in this hotel next time too.

Room Tip: South side rooms are more quiet, and with a view.

We stayed at the Monte Mulini in May 2013 while visiting Rovinj. I was actually at a conference at the Hotel Istria but our agent booked us at the Monte Mulini. What a great place. Very modern and upscale but not snobbish. Helpful staff, wonderful dining and we enjoyed a fun wine tasting. As a treat, our agent arranged a cooking class with Chef Philipe which she totally enjoyed. We had watched the Anthony Bourdain video on Croatia before our trip and we found he had visited the hotel on the trip. Very nice rooms with a view of the Adriatic Sea. Only a short walk to Rovinj yet located in a quiet area with great pool and places to walk.

Just spent a week at this lovely hotel. The staff were superb, very polite and helpful if you needed them to be. Anna in the restaurant was a breath of fresh air. Leon and Marcelo and the girls in the Lobby bar were superb. A slight criticism would be there wasn't enough choice on the menu in the Mediterrano restaurant, hence we visited the lovely town of Rovinj, a 20 minute walk away, where there are some superb restaurants. We visited the Wine Vault for our wedding anniversary, and although quite expensive, we did enjoy ourselves. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a luxury holiday, somewhere special. My wife and I enjoyed it very much and will return in the future.

Pros:  Best of both worlds - ultra modern room (liked decor-see photo) with a sea view (see photo) plus Old Town not far away;  bicycle loan/lovely paths nearby;  heated outdoor & long indoor pool (you access through a tunnel as it's in the hotel next door...stunning!);  we booked in advance and got a good rate that included breakfast;  beautiful breakfast...in fact everything was great & we want to return for a week one day!; Italy on doorstep...we had a Croatian driver pick us up in old town of Trieste & transfer us to Rovinj;  Venice also accessible by ferry or similar;  also short flight from London - maybe we should be keeping this wonderful place secret as not over run with tourists like similar places in Europe!;  oh yes, 1 last tip - an easy/cheap 40 min bus trip to Pula (amazing Roman amphitheatre) -  glad we did our research 1st on where to catch bus & taking a map of Pula also helped locate Roman ruins easily.  Croatia was once again a highlight of our 2 month trip to Europe.

Cons:  Bit of a walk (although pleasant) to Old Town; the footpaths can get slippery when wet...we called a taxi from restaurant when raining (efficient & inexpensive taxi service);  expensive poolside drinks...staff have basic English there so communication can be tricky...fine by us as our Croatian is poor!;  the WineVault? Hotel Restaurant menu although appealing, also looked v expensive compared to other restaurants nearby...it also looked quiet & boring even at 8ish (we could see in on way back to room); some Restaurants in Old Town are very touristy...very average food, crowded etc. so...worth doing a bit of research 1st too.

It is a beautiful Old Town & we enjoyed walking to the top of the hill. So...the Pros certainly outweighed the Cons & we look forward to returning one day...their pools and beautiful breakfast as well as sea view from rooms would be the highlights for us. We also liked the modern architecture and decor...nice to see some innovative ideas (see photo).

Dear Guest,

It has been a privilege to welcome you in Monte Mulini, Rovinj, during your two month trip to Europe and we are grateful for your eloquent recognition. Nothing is more important for us and we thank you for electing our boutique hotel as your private residence for any future visit to the Croatia. We compeletely agree with you that our little oasis of peace shouldn't become crowdy and noisy destination so we're try day by day to keep it that way. As you mentioned there are really many possibilities for trips and sightseeing for instance to the little towns on both coasts (as we're in peninsula) mainly with Roman heritage or going to beautiful inland always compared with the Toscany due to pictoresque towns on the top of the hills and vineyards.

Our Wine Vault restaurant is among "TOP 10 Istrian Restaurants" chosen by journalist contest. And as they said, this is a proof that Istria has some of the best restaurants in Croatia. Maybe we gave you the reason to come and join us at the table. For ones looking for special experience we're offering as well Cfef table – in the kitchen.

Thank you for highlighting our room and the bay sea view together with the pools and breakfast which is one of our main focuses.

We hope to have soon the pleasure of welcoming you back for new, precious moments

Sincerely,
