Ignore the previous reviews this is a very nice Cathedral. Especially early in the day before the crowds arrive. Great art and lots of photo ops, please don't use a flash.

3 Kuna to light a candle and 15 Kuna to climb the bell tower. Well worth the climb up the rickety steps. Don't look down. The view from the top is awesome I went up there for mid day to see the bells ring, very load. Loved watching my wife slowly decend the steep steps.

As you can see it from all of rovinj you have to go and see it anyways. Enjoys

There is a nice view from outside the Cathedral. It gives you something to walk to on an excursion - but it really isn't memorable compared to Cathedrals in many other European cities.

This should be the #1 place to visit in Rovinj. The whole experience is fantastic, walking through the narrow alley ways with the small shops and restaurants. The Cathedral is very well maintained and the two times I have visited on warm day I am always amazed at how cool it is inside. The most amazing aspect is going to the area where the St. Euphemia's sarcophagus is located. It is a very moving experience to be that close to the remains of a saint. Read up on her story before going. The views from the bell tower are fantastic. The journey up the stairs are well worth the price.

Arriving in Rovinj, the first thing you notice is the cathedral bell tower, prominent site over the old town.
Climbing through narrow alleys with lots of little shops selling handcrafted jewelry and other nice souvenirs, (whatch out for the slippery stones) one arrives at the cathedral entrance.
Beautiful views over the historical town wall towards the archipello islands.
Whith high expectations ( I know my mistake ) I entered the catherdral. Because the whole town is Italian style to the bone, I expect to see lots of paintings, gold and what have you in a typical Italian church. This one however is very sober for its age. Contradicting architectural items (like the lead tainted glass is very modern) and its clear the church has gone through some overhauls on a budget that is. Reparations are clearly visible and a blemish to what one probably was a lushly decorated church.
Still a nice spot to vist is your in town, but you might settle for the pictures from the exterior...

View the sunset from the grounds or the tower of St Euphemia - truly beautiful. Rickety steps & worth it! And then there's a lovely cafe bar under it to enjoy the fading light.
