Spent two nights at Angelo d'Oro during a two week trip through Croatia. We wanted to stay in the old town and had a fantastic experience here. Large rooms, very helpful staff, great location (quiet, historic building relatively close to the major parking area), golf cart on call to help with transport of your luggage, very nice breakfast buffet served outside on a charming and quiet patio with excellent Eggs Benedict available to order in addition to the buffet. We were on the third floor which had a little private balcony looking to the north over the Adriatic. Though not attached to our rooms, it was never occupied and we enjoyed a bottle of wine, some snacks and the view there in the evenings before dinner. Highly recommended if you want a charming, quiet and friendly little hotel in the old town.

Room Tip: Room 301 was excellent and the little balcony nearby made a great spot for reading or a glass of wine and the sunset before dinner.

My room was very comfortable, but the aircon didn’t seem to do much. I got by with open windows. The staff are super helpful. Breakfast was ok, nothing special. Very nice shower room.

It’s a very old building, so the layout is a bit odd, and there a lots of little steps wonky bits of floor. Excellent location, and hotel parking is available.

We could not have made a better choice of hotel for staying in the old town of delightful Rovinj, where we specifically wanted to be rather than out of town. Angelo D'Oro is located in an impressive historic building on the quiet street leading along the north side of the old town, only 5 to 10 minutes walk from the main centre, yet also continuing to the end of the peninsula where gardens cover the hillside below the Cathedral of St Euphemia. This was often our walk back in an evening, watching the sun set over the Adriatic. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful, including all on reception and especially the ladies who looked after breakfast every day. The breakfast was taken in the lovely shaded garden behind the hotel (being warm and sunny weather) and offered a good variety including muesli, meats and cheeses. Our room was comfortable, and well situated in the centre at the front overlooking the street. A sea view was possible from an attic balcony on the floor above which was open to all (though as others have noted, there is no lift).Though it is a historic building we appreciated the modern double glazed windows which cut out the occasional sounds from the street at night, and the air conditioning functioned well. Our airport transfer was arranged efficiently by the hotel staff, and was much more than just transportation as our driver Ivan started by taking us to see the main sights of Pula, then spent all the rest of journeys from and back to the airport giving us very interesting information about Croatia. We were then met by a member of staff with the 'buggy' to take us through the narrow, almost traffic-free streets to the hotel. Overall we loved our stay in Rovinj and could not fault Angelo D'Oro. It is unfortunate that critical reviews are still left on TripAdvisor as these are generally five or more years out of date.

We stayed 3 days with a group of 12 friends and found the hotel to be quiet andconvenient to visit any part of Rovinj. Possibly the most outstanding feature is the garden breakfast dining area that also serves as place for drinks. Since the breakfast doesn't start until 8 AM the desk clerk makes a wonderful cup of espresso or cappuccino. We enjoyed our visit and found the service to be very good and the staff was very cheery and helpful.
