“More than a place to stay”

We were very pleased with our stay here in a 2bd apt on the second floor with view of the old town at a reasonable price. We felt almost a part of the family, Natalia, her husband, mother, mother-in-law, and dog all live in the building and were so eager to help with any question or arrangement. The Villa offers several apartments, as well as hotel rooms. A plus is that they make their own award winning wine on site as well as olive oil. Located in the Karmelo section of town it was a 10 min walk to old town, they had free parking right out front. There was air condition or big windows for cross ventilation. The only slight negatives, there was no bathtub in our unit and the beds were a little firm.

Staying at Villa Dobravac made our stay in Rovinj really special. We had the top floor apartment, which was exceedlingly clean, spacious and modern. The views from the balcony are fabulous and the setting is peaceful and relaxed. It is a five minute walk in to town. Just far enough to be away from the crowds, but close enough to not mind the walk.
Villa Dobravac is part of a family business. The owner Natalina and her husband produce the best class wines, olive oil and fruit and vegetables. They supply the best restaurants in the town and high quality is obviously the standard that they aim for across their business. There are a large array of medals and awards which they have won, on show!
There were many highlights of our stay here. Firstly the breakfasts. The table is laden with fresh fruit and vegetables grown on site. The figs, kiwi fruit and watermelons were perfect, fresh, sweet and plentiful. The tomatoes had so much taste, and with a little of the house extra virgin olive oil drizzled on, were to die for. The excellent range of breads arrived fresh from the bakery every morning and was the best bread I have had on a breakfast anywhere. With eggs cooked to order, home made jam, cereals, cheese, cooked meats and yoghurts, we certainly could not have asked for more. Also the breakast was long and leisurely and was available all morning with no finishing time.
What made our stay at Villa Dobravac so great though, was the help we had from Natalina. As she will tell you, she supplies restaurants in town and knows which are the best... and she was not wrong. we ate at the majority of her recommended restaurants and were not disappointed. Bosket and La Perla were great and really handy for the hotel, both were obviously serving locals and not just tourists. Natalina also suggested Monte, which though expensive, is real fine dining and streets ahead of anything else in the town. She was also able to secure us a reservation in a very heavily booked establishment.
Her inside knowledge and local contacts were also really helpful when hiring bikes and taking excursions. When faced with a daunting array of offers in town, Natalina will take the time to explain the pros and cons of various options. The trip she helped us book to Venice was first class, with a good choice of boat and the booking all done for us.
I would definitely return to Villa Dobravac and would recommend to friends.
