Stayed as a family in this fabulously cool design hotel in a beautiful part of Croatia. Utterly gorgeous hotel with amazing style and beautiful decor. Surrounded by lovely grounds with pools, al fresco dining and a small but beautiful beach.
Fantastic games room which our (9 year old) daughter loved too.

Breakfast out of this world good. Staff lovely and helpful.
Not cheap but value for money and one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in, very family friendly too. Dinner in the in house restaurants is not cheap (by Croatian stnadrads) but it is very good. You can also use the more budget facilities at the sister hotel, the Eden next door.

Highly recommend this hotel which deserves its 5 star rating.

From the moment you walk in to the Lone Hotel, you are amazed! The design, the space, the service, every single details is as close to perfection as it can be. Located just 10min walking distance from the centre of beautiful Rovinj, next to the beach and to the park which gives you an amazing feeling of being located in the heart of nature as it is. Our room was very spacious, we were situated in the Jazz room which had a small pool (+jacuzzi) on the balcony with a killer view of the park and pool area. But most of all - the people working at the Lone Hotel - bravo! Thinking about every small detail to make your stay as comfortable as possible. They can be a role model for a lot of hotels on how to be kind, positive and do everything with a smile towards the guests.
Tips - definitely do not miss out on the breakfast! A wide variety to choose from to start your day!
They have a cool weekly program with special menu's (such as Sushi nights) so keep track of that if you want something a bit different on your menu that specific day.
Guests of the Lone Hotel can get free towels and chairs on the mind-blowing Mulini Beach, be sure to take advantage of that. :)
If you are coming with kids - check out the Kids club and game room, great to get some time off from your kids and for them to have fun :)

Room tip: Jazz room is the best option to go with for the full experience of the Lone Hotel

One of the best hotels in Rovinj and for sure in whole Istria. Highest level of hospitality. I have been here many times so I feel like I am at home. Every time I get surprised by stuff with room upgrade. In the hotel is one of best restorans in Croatia. This is perfect place for people who like clean and modern designed rooms, good food and friendly stuff.

Booked this hotel on recommendation and upon first impressions we were not disappointed and even though we had some negatives I still have to give this hotel a very good rating!

Its a pretty unique hotel, super modern and very cleverly designed, perhaps feels a little bit more like a conference centre but still cool! Its in a great position set amongst the tree lined gardens offering plenty of shade. A short walk to the pretty pebbled beach and the super crystal clear water. Also the short 10 minute walk to Rovinj town and all its wonderful bars and restaurants is perfect.

Rooms are modern and comfortable with a lovely balcony. Ive not seen anyone else comment on the weird layout where you go into the bedroom and there is a huge window looking straight into the bathroom and toilet!! Now I don't know about anyone else but I prefer not to see any member of my family sat on the loo!! My 3 teenagers, 2 boys, 1 girl, shared a room and my daughter went up the wall demanding a room of her own but thankfully housekeeping put a sheet to cover her modesty ... but why on earth they have this design I don't know! Loved the funky chairs and furnishings all designed by Croatians which is a nice touch. Also please for a 5* hotel all rooms should have a decent coffee making facility and more drawer space!!

Pool area is nice but as others say it is shared by next-door 4* Hotel Eden which is odd and there are so many sunbeds around the pool its far too crowded to sit. We chose to sit within the trees in the garden area which was lovely but I really didn't like that the hotel outside area is open to anyone walking in ... even though pool states hotel guests only I saw no evidence that this was checked and overall cheapened the feel of the hotel. It also meant that the pool restaurant is very crowded and at peak times you will need to wait for a table. For a 5* hotel I expect exclusivity but this was not the case.

We only ate in the hotel a couple of times but sitting in the garden of Restaurant L was lovely, with tables well spaced out amongst the trees .... it was BBQ night & delicious with fabulous Croatian wines! I didn't particularly like the breakfast area or how the food was laid out ..... very sterile environment like sitting in a hotel foyer and the food area is kind of squashed one end so felt chaotic when busy. Choice & quality of food is good but service is average but think it could be that there just aren't enough staff so they're all just rushing around.

Overall service throughout the hotel is inconsistent and at times some members of waiting staff were just plain rude .... especially at Oleander lunch restaurant. Again it could be that there just aren't enough staff but really needs addressing. However, some of the staff were great, the concierge Tamara & Sylvia were very helpful and gave some great advice on restaurants & outings.

Your comments about the Oleander lunch staff will for sure be adressed to the responsible person in the hotel next door being a part of it. The pool could be crowded in this time of the year because of the hotels being full all the time, we hope our pool and beach attendants helped you in finding a spot and you manage to relax with your family.
