“Attitude Leaves a Sour Taste.”
Reviewed September 2, 2012 via mobile

A very good meal was marred by the cold attitude of our waitress...who knew that not being fluent in German would be a problem in Croatia. Our attempts at Italian (we were lead to believe that Italian was acceptable in Istria) were met with a sour face. We observed a difference in congeniality with the German guests, who were at every other table.  On the other hand, a waiter, who shared some of the table services was very friendly and informative about local wines.

The food was delicious.  We had for a first course of Istrian gnocchi which was exceptionally tasty (with seasoned slow roasted beef, like a beef stroganoff sauce).  The second courses of grilled squid and fried sole were seasoned to perfection. Unfortunately, our not-so- friendly waitress never delivered our espresso. But the professional waiter offset the lack of coffee with a gratis Rakija.

“Good for the budget, but the food is mean”
Reviewed July 8, 2012

I followed the reviews and I ordered a fish based menu. A full fish menu is around 30€ including wine, but the quality was a bit disappointing. Worth to mention, the risotto was tasteless and all the fish was cooked exaggerating with garlic and parsley. For low requirements only.

“Best Squid.”
Reviewed November 3, 2011

This restaurant was recommended to us by the lady who owned the villa we stayed in, as a nice meal option just across the street - and we weren’t disappointed! Really good food, generous portions, our favourites were the langoustines, seafood risotto, and garlic squid, mmm.. and the local semi-sweet muscat. Great value for money too!
