“Love the place and the people...”

We love the drive out to this great little place...its not far from Hwy 59 and we've been several times for lunch. Often we'll drive on to the boat basin and get some shrimp to take home. It's a nice little casual dining spot and the owners are terrific! Service is always great and the food is delicious.

“Great seafood off the beaten path”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2012

This is a great restaurant tucked away in Bon Secour just outside of Gulf Shores proper. My family and friends have eaten here on several occasions, both inside the restaurant and outside on the patio. The atmosphere is always pleasant and the waitstaff are friendly.

I highly recommend the "Oysters Tin Top" as well as the soft-shell crabs if they are in season (spring or early summer). The raw local oysters are also excellent, just remember the rule of thumb for eating fresh raw oysters only during months with an 'R' in their name.

“Great food in a casual setting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2012 via mobile

I received very good service from my server, Kalyn. The pan seared fish was nicely seasoned and was very moist and fresh tasting. It was well worth the short trip down a country road. I'll definitely go back again.

“Better Than Average, But Not Life-Changing, Seafood”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2012

Twelve of us went here on a Friday night in August. There was no waiting, and because of the number of us, we sampled a good part of the menu. Rather than fried crab claws that are available everywhere, we tried the sauteed crab claws. They were good, but after a while got heavy with cream, butter and cheese. The fried green tomatoes and fried pickles were similarly competent, but not exceptional. The restaurant touts its "award winning" West Indies Salad, but it wouldn't get an award from me. The server (who was great) said the Caesar Salad was "classic with raw egg and anchovies", but it wasn't much more than romaine, dressing and cheese. Most of our group had fried something or the other, and everyone who did seemed pleased. The key lime pie was again just competent. However, for my entree I had the daily special, pan-fried (sauteed) triggerfish. It was exceptional, as good as any non-shellfish dish that I can recall. Tin Top is the best restaurant we visited in Orange Beach, but that's not to say that it's at the top of seafood restaurants we've visited.

“This is where the locals go for fresh seafood, not the tourists!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2012

Not on the tourist area, and has the best food for the money in Gulf Shores! Worth the 3 mile trip down county road 10 to get there! Dining inside or outside patio. Skip the tourist traps, this is where the locals go!
