Previously we've stayed at the hotel but we needed an apartment this time for the grandkids. It was bigger than my daughter's house! We certainly picked well. It wasn't even the biggest type but plenty big enough for us! We were down the hill away from the centre. In the evening it was silent. You want entertainment? Go to the hotel or central complex.
The apartments are quiet. Families just sit on their terrace over dinner or drinks and you can hear the cicadas (or whatever they are). Bliss.
The kids loved the pool. The food at the Bistro Antonia was excellent. The calamari were much appreciated. The staff at Reception were exceedingly helpful. I was sitting checking email and one girl spent a very long time finding the perfect spot for an elderly couple despite the fact that they were very fussy and the Bellevue was virtually fully booked.
It's 99% German/Austrian/East European families and I met only a single British family who were leaving as we arrived. Their teenage son had found it hard to mix. If you need fellow Brits around you then you may find yourself somewhat isolated. I speak good German so I'm more than happy. But it has to be said that some Brits can't cope without their compadres.More
