Loved small bars in narrow streets, be wary of clothes shop run by asian family, too pushy and the goods are overpriced.

Not a large town! In fact, you can walk it back and forth in an hour or so. But wait, you are on a vacation...take your time, look around, do some bar hopping, and sight seeing. You will love it. We did. Days at the beach and evenings in the Old city of Porec. Will be back!

Porec is small, about half the size of nearby Rovinj, but it is not only lovely to look at but also is steadily getting a chic quality all of its own. In one street we stumbled over a shop selling nothing but Venetian masks, all of them exquisite designs at much less than I would expect to pay in rip-off Venice. The promenade or quai each night sees a bevy of stunning millionaire yachts at anchor, the restaurants - great for people watching - and also the stalls nearby all add to a South of France quality. With no fast-food chains in sight the place truly feels like "the Med as it once was".
